I was convinced that Burbot was in the same classification as carp growing up and we always killed them and fed them back to the crawdads until I met a guy on the ice at the Gorge one weekend that was cooking Burbot and was walking around and handing out samples ever since then I keep them and make poor mans lobster with his recipe. He says to pull them out of the pan when they float but I like them to cook another 5 minutes or so it gives them more of a lobster type texture. • 1 lbs Burbot • 1/2 cup sugar • 1/4 cup salt • 1/2 cup butter. Optional: used for dipping. • 1 lemon INSTRUCTIONS 1. In a medium pot bring 2 quarts of water, sugar, and salt to a boil. 2. Cut the Burbot into bite size pieces. 3. Then add your Burbot the water. Boil your fish for about 10 minutes, the fish will float to the top of the water, be firmer and flaky! 4. While the fish cooks, melt butter in a pot for dipping. 5. When fish is done cooking remove from water onto paper towel lined plate. Top with lemon juice to liking. 6. Dip and enjoy!

@208flatheads3 we started fishing trout and had caught 5 and then we caught 3-5 burbot on Looney Baits tipped with powerbait.
Burbot meat works well for cut bait...
Yes it's definitely does. We use Burbot tail split in 2. Also stays on the hook the best because of the tough skin.
