She ABSOLUTELY deserves more than she gets. She's one of the best comedy queens to have ever graced the stage of RPDR. And the show never truly made use of her talents. Especially on all stars 6... I think her, Scarlet and Jan fell victim of a very large cast and producers having to prioritize queens.

Season 2 of drag race was the first season I watched and Pandora was the first queen I rooted for. Still have a soft spot for her, she’s iconic!

I don't understand viewers that don't go back to watch the old seasons. When I started watching RPDR, I started with US1, thinking that this was the only rational way to get into a new series - to start at the beginning. I began watching Drag Race in 2019, a whole decade after the first season aired, and still went straight to S1E1, falling head over heels for Nina Flowers. The franchise was still in its toddler shoes and a lot of things about the production were yet so raw and rudimentary, but especially that holds such a huge charm to me even to this day. It was all so pure! Please watch the old seasons, you're seriously missing out on huge amounts of gold.

I remember how sad I was when I wanted to watch RPDR on Netflix, as I usually did back in the day, and they had suddenly removed all seasons prior to I think 11. However, aside from paying WOW+ a ton of money, which I’ve done as well, I’ve found other ways to watch Drag Race all over the internet by - you’ve mentioned it - a Google search actually. Seasons that are rather “niche“ like Belgium for example aren’t that easy to find and watch, but regarding the main US seasons… if there’s a will, there is a way! And even with WOW+ restricting certain countries from watching a certain series, if you’re willing to not only pay for the subscription itself but for the “extra“ content as well, there’s still VPN‘s that work around the region lock. That’s in fact another paywall, yes, but as I’ve quietly mentioned, if you really want to see Drag Race US season 1 without paying a penny, then that is indeed very possible.

Thank you for making these videos about under-appreciated queens. They truly help people see queens that have been short-sighted by the show and fan base be seen in a different light by the viewers, and that's helping the queens so much.

I was on that cruise with the roast where Pandora walked off. It wasn’t just that roast. It was a continuous thing throughout the cruise, and by the night it got to that roast, I think it was the final straw for her after days of being the butt of the joke.
I was there too and I remember that the jokes were funny at first but got old pretty quick. Pandora rarely even showed up at the evening parties anymore and when she did she just seemed really detached, it must have been a rough time for her. I remember walking up to her to tell her I really loved the show she did the day before and she seemed so confused and surprised to get a compliment like that, it made my heart hurt. I was sad to not see her on the cruise the next year but I completely understand.
it's always felt so unfair that older queens or queens that are more theatrical etc rather than fashion have been expected to change so drastically over time. You should always keep trying to improve what you do but i hate seeing these queens be pushed down avenues that they clearly aren't that strong in. I love watching a queen do what they do best and thats why there is room for all types of drag. No one gets on the fashion queen's asses to all of a sudden be live singers or incredible actors and i think the same should be held for queens like Pandora who excells in SO many places.
My wife won tickets to a Pandora Boxx show before we met. She would have seen her in 2011-2012, and she said that it was one of the funniest things she had ever seen, and she remains a Pandora Boxx fan to this day.
I will always love Pandora, Kasha, and Darien because they're my Rochester queens and are a part of the iconic OG's.
Wow I use to drive up to Rochester from Syracuse when I went to SU and remember seeing Pandora and Darienne all the time. Plus who can for get Aggie Dune. What a Upstate NY icon. We use to call her Haggy Goon put it was all in fun and back then in the early 80’s thru the mid ‘90’s no one was so mean and dishy. I love Pandora and relate to her struggle with depression. It is not just having a sad day or the blues. It is actually very serious. Pandy so many of us love you and always will. God bless!!

I wish Pandora had more appreciation in the Rpdr community. I loved her in her original season (I’m “old”), and in the early ‘10s I met her at a show lineup I performed in in Phoenix. She cracked me up and was such a lovely person. Thank you for this documentary on her, she definitely is talented and I guess it just didn’t translate in the show. :-/
When it comes to Kathy Griffin, there's a lot to her story but here's a short version - she used to be a major comedian following in the steps of Joan Rivers, with similar material, fanbase, and scope of interests. She had a reality show which was hugely successful and influential for reality TV at the time (and won two Emmys), a short-lived talk show, and had the world record for most stand up specials. She was also a huge icon in the gay community, not just for her comedy, but also as a campaigner for marriage equality and the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell. She was even friends with Cher! In the 00s gay world, Kathy was kind of a superstar. So how did someone this big and iconic just disappear?
Well, it's a mix of things. Unfortunately, her style of comedy is rather unpopular with the younger queer crowd, which has seen a puritanical shift since the 2010s, and she hasn't been able to adapt her comedy to newer trends. But what really buried her career was that in 2017, she made an unfortunate comedy photoshoot featuring a mask of Donald Trump's head, which got her investigated by the US Secret Service, got put on the no fly list, which for a performer is career-crippling, and she had trouble getting jobs in the US. Due to the controversy, most of her showbiz friends dropped her, and so did a lot of her fans. To top all of that off, she got lung cancer, which she has now beaten, but it affected her speech.
But, she seems to be on a career & health recovery tour now and hopefully she will be able to be recognized as the controversial yet legendary gay icon she is. I highly recommend watching her episode on The Bald and the Beautiful to hear some of these stories directly from her & Trixie.
I hated the Trump head thing because I’m sure it was the photographer’s idea, but she suffered all the consequences.
Yeah, it's advisable to go and watch The Bald and the Beautiful if you are interested in how Kathy is now. She is doing fine. Maybe it's not important to try to be funny and interesting to the young puritanical queer audience. Slightly older gays like me still love her comedy.
I completely understood Pandora’s reactions during AS1.
"Why do you think THE UNIVERSE put you together"! What the ever loving f! She knows who did that to her, and it wasn't The Universe. It was Ru herself and the producers. That, to me, was one of the nastiest things done to her. It was rubbing her nose in it in front of everyone after treating her badly. The Scientology/New Age ideology the show shoves down the contestants' throats sometimes really pisses me off. No, no one ENTIRELY creates their own reality. At best, we can have some influence sometimes. Pandora didn't pair herself with Mimi, and Pandora didn't make the horrible choice to make the queens compete in teams in the first place. Nor was it The Universe. That was all World of Wonder.

I've been dying to see you tackle Pandora Boxx.
She is the original fan favorite. She's actually great drag and people need to appreciate her intelligence and polished nature. She knows her strengths and plays into it. And she's had so many great quotes that I still use.
Her vulnerability is so relatable to me.
Even when she's down on herself, I related.
She's someone that I greatly admire. And I wish All Stars 1 and 6 would've done her more justice.
She inspires my drag king performance style to an extent. Which I am grateful that she was fierce without having to do a lot of the tricks.
I'm excited to see her perform again this weekend.
I thought Pandora should have won season 2. She was snubbed for victories on like 3 challenges. She made all her own garments, she was pretty polished, she wrote and delivered jokes, sang, danced, talked sincerely and eloquently about mental health issues and gave great talking heads.
As a successful campy, comedy queen, she made the most sense as a next winner after Bebe.
And she had the best makeover of the episode too

Pandora and Jujubee were my first favorite drag queens ever. I was just a teenager when season 2 aired and I instantly fell in love with both of them. I was SO SAD to see how dirty she was done on both All Stars seasons. She deserves the world because she’s just so hilarious and kind.
yeah I didn't know why Pandora was so down on herself in AS6, her talent show was great, she looked fabulous in it (the talent show) then her entrance look was fantastic and so old school hollywood and glam. I think it's hard for the older queens b/c now Drag is such an athletic pursuit and everyone is weaponizing their BFAs and MFAs.

That Pandora WOW recap show that got cancelled could be found if you forward that information into the lost media community. They have been on a roll the last couple years getting lost media found so it would be worth a shot to get it found, regardless of whether or not it's good it's still apart of the Drag Race lexicon.

I lived in West Hollywood for years, and I will never forgot the night that I spent with Pandora out of drag. I absolutely adore her.
I have to admit I have always been a sucker for "underdogs" and the alternatives as a fellow freak, and Pandora has always been a fav for me even after how she acted with Mimi.
Thank you so much for doing this, she's been one of my faves since I saw her for the first time in S2. And since then, she's been done dirty completely and edited to make her look horrid and insignificant. She's amazing and deserves the recognition for it. Hopefully a lot of the new fans see this and understand her a bit more.

Pandora has always been and always will be on of my favourite queens. AS1 was so sad (especially since she didn't really DO anything, she was just completely edited out other than her being stuck with Mimi. And even then she actively helped Mimi which was shown both on the show and from the Queens talking after) and I was really hoping AS6 would be a redemption for her, but she was again almost completely edited out except when she did just okay or poorly and it's like... why would you take such an amazing queen and do that to her twice?

I think it’s a pretty even playing field for anyone who gets on the show, and you make what you make of it. She was pathetic and unfunny and it’s unfortunate but only has herself to blame.

When I started watching Drag Race I had heard of three of the queens: Sharon, Trixie, and Pandora Boxx. Not even sure why that was the case, but I am here for any instance in which flowers are being given to Ms. Boxx. She deserves.

Shangla's Allstars 3 was her 3rd season. She was the 1st queen to be on 3 separate seasons. Pandoras 3rd season wasn't until all stars 6
Pandora is definitely an interesting one as someone who has been watching since season 1! She was absolutely my favorite in season 2, one of the first fan favorite type queens. Going into AS1 she was my favorite and then...AS1 happened and absolutely tanked her. It was really disappointing to see a fun bubbly queen come out looking so bitter. I'm glad she got a come back, she's definitely got all the talent! AS1 was really a disaster for everyone.

Kathy Griffin was a guest judge in 2015, avoided the spotlight for a bit starting in 2017, then she got cancer in 2021. Hopefully she’ll be back as an extra special guest judge in an upcoming season.

Pandora's one of my all time faves from the show. Always hate the way production mistreat her in every season she's in.
When i started watching drag race, i think i was around 12, and the first season i watched was actually season 2. I immediately loved Pandora and she quickly became my favorite of the season. She was so bright and fun and i felt genuinely inspired by her as a kid. I had depression but it wasn’t diagnosed at the time, and i felt completely ostracized by my peers. Now, i’m grateful that i really listened to her powerful message, because even if i’m still struggling, i feel like life might be worth living ^^ Props to Pandora for probably helping out thousands of other people like me

I started drag race from the start during Covid and fell in love with with pandora boxx and was so upset that she was scammed on all stars 1 but the fact it took so long for her return it felt very lack luster. It’s like if they brought shangala back in season 7 instead of 3.

Jeez I must be old because I remember Pandora's recap show it used to be on the logo app then on the VH1 app briefly back in 2015 but since that was 8 years ago and the camera and show quality has improved I know why they removed it. Can't justify them deleting the first season though because I have a hard time finding it online.

Pandora is actually the first professional drag queen I ever saw live. I was a lil baby gay in college and saw her at a queer college conference hosting the evening dance party/drag show. I didn't watch drag race until years later but had adored Pandora as that shows host. Helped me on my journey of loving all things drag
As a recent fan of the show, I knew who Pandora was before I knew a lot of the famous queens. For some reason, her name was in my head before I started watching the show. She’s one of my favorite queens, although I haven’t seen AS6 yet so hopefully I still love her afterwards (I still love Milk after AS3 so it can’t be worse than that).
I always loved the idea of Pandora. But unfortunately not the exaction of this idea...
They should give these entertainers a STIPEND to come back for All-Stars especially Allstars Winners!! PERIOD!!

The first drag race season that I watched was season 2 and Pandora was the delightful presence that got my uncultured no drag experience ass thinking, "Ok, I need more of this." Just listening to her confessionals alone had me feeling like I was talking smack with an old friend. Anytime I've seen her do her thing in the years since, I've gotten that same vibe. I still believe she deserved better on AS6! Shout out to her S2 reunion hot wheels dress, too. 🔥
