It's incredible the detail DH (and other discipline) riders and mechanics go into for setup, sadly I think technically I'm not good enough to even notice the difference between slight tweaks, but in general videos like this really help me get a base level that makes my ride feel as comfortable as possible with my lack of technique. As a side note, I've been following Bernard for years now, he's got something that a lot of others haven't, not something I could even name, but if all riders were dressed the same and on the same bike I would recognise Bernard instantly. Without bad luck or mechanicals, I have a feeling this year could be the year of Kerr!
Regarding tires, you can go so much deeper yet, with the different sidewall and rubber compound configurations. My number one concern is not washing out on corners since it is so fundamental to going fast down a trail. I detest tire roll so have been trying out DH Casing with Maxx Grip tire compound. Surely not the fastest rollers but I'm feeling pretty good on corners again.
Well this is refreshing! Not like all other how to videos where there is way too much info at a time with too much balast and at the end I dont remember a single thing that I learned. This is different! Way to go! And I strongly agree about carbon rims! I try to convince my buddies to use them but they all think they will break😬
yeah, having a favorite trail that you can try out small changes in air pressure in tires, or shocks and forks makes a huge difference in figuring our what actually feels right.....gotta compare good and bad to figure out where you land.
Cool video but...CASING! They should mention that different construction, casing and type of sidewalls change the behavior of the tire and therefore we must adjust the pressure. 26 psi in the rear with an Exo is WAY different than on a DH casing, to stay with Maxxis. They didn't say what they use, no?
Choosing the correct tire pressure is very important it depends on what you ride for example if you ride indoor skateparks or DJs more than likely you will run 60 to 65 psi some people may think that’s crazy but it’s Very common for this style of riding One of my friends runs 70 that’s crazy
Got to add in that Bernard are riding a lot harder than most people, so even if someone is the same weight, those tire pressures is just a reference. Personally I go lower because I just don't ride anywhere near as hard, and I always carry a tire pressure gauge with me as well as a pump so I can adjust when I feel the need.

Just signed up, good stuff, keep it up!
49 y old engineering type here. So good to hear real numbers and physics discussed 👍
These are great, super cool seeing eliot and bernie dropping the knowledge
First time coming across these videos and really appreciate how you provide solid info in a casual and conversational manner. Well done! Keep it up.
🙌🏻 thank you.
Great info, Love it ! 👍
Never a dull moment. TQ for sharing.

O also like his style. He doesn't need to be that kind of "bro" rider which lots of pros try to be.😂

If I was sponsored I would like carbon rims too

Super helpful!! Thanks!
Thoughts on using something like Cushcore to run even lower pressures?

Really useful video guys 👍
Thanks!
Front brake on the right ✅😅
I ran like 8 psi when I started and thought I had upper 20s lmao
ALUMINIUM! BTW ;-)
Is that a nomad that Eliot's riding?
Where’s Lauren?
