Thank you for turning me on to the Ampersand Gesso Panels in the last stream. I used to buy masonite and build my own cradling and gesso it myself. Right now, though, I don't have the space in our new house until next year when I can build a shed/workshop space. Not to say that I've ever been a great painter, but it's fun. My main love is printmaking.

Hi! I've been watching for about a year now and I love your videos and tutorials! It's refreshing to watch someone in the process of learning and making mistakes, it feels so much more human.
Also, the state you're talking about when you paint and just focus on the art making process is known as "Flow" in psychology! It's a fascinating field of study.
It's characterized by complete mental involvement in the task, ecstasy/disconnect from "normal" reality, inner clarity, timelessness, serenity/lack of sense of self, competence and intrinsic motivation!

Wow, that is so interesting! I'd love to learn more about that. I love getting so lost in a project that I forget where I am physically! - Mia Rozear, Art Prof Staff

Paintings to see on your bucket list - I went to Santa Fe and saw Georgia O’Keefe paintings and they were so beautiful. As I stood there looking at these wonders, I kept choking back tears. Sounds goofy I know…but true.

About the question about drying and varnishing (I'm watching this a moment in my lunchbreak, so maybe it is answered later in the video). Water mixable oils is oilpaints. No they can not be reactivated after dry (unless using some kind of varnish I guess). You have to wait months/a year to varnish like with all oilpaints, but check the brands information on that - it might vary. All of the brands I know have lots of information about the paints on their websites, also pigment content and light fastness and stuff like that.
