I’ve always thought that Mike Tirico was a very underrated commentator. When he left to go to NBC, there was a noticeable decline in quality when it came to the broadcast booth.
Manning was always a humble guy on that football field. He always gave credit where it was due. He never saw the achievements as just his. He always gave respect to the players around him and that paved the way for him as a player like Johnny Unitas
This is one of my all-time favorite NFL games. Hot, humid night in Miami. Dirt infield. The Colts Defense is on the field all night. Uniforms dirty and grass stained The defense is gassed by the end of the game. Ends with an interception and no time left. I have the jersey Daniel Muir wore in this game and it's absolutely pounded. Great, great game.
Peyton Manning is my guy and he gets ridiculed for his post season performances and rightfully so but you can’t deny him as a football player, his preparation and brilliant mind and consistency is like no other
He’s the QB the offensive coordinator and game planner… we see offensive coordinators with the play card in their hands and calling the plays… those cards have hundreds of plays and scenarios… he has that entire playbook in his head
What makes Peyton’s mind different than all the rest is his ability to read and process information very quickly… so think about the playbook and having thousands of plays, it takes time to go through that entire playbook to get the best play.. Manning’s mind he doesn’t have to go through the entire playbook.. his mind automatically processes that information in seconds
They did the same the year before with the Ssints. Dayum near held them scoreless in the first half. That ONE GAME is why their play-off seeding was low and they hot trounced.
To answer Jawarski’s question, a defense will bite because it’s a myth that they can just ignore the run fake if you aren’t good at running. That’s because pretty much *any* NFL running back can break off a big one if you just totally ignore him and he busts through the line of scrimmage.
Wins where defense allowed > 3.0 Points per Drive: Tom Brady w/ New England 2001-2019 (320 games)*: - 5 - 2% of total wins Peyton Manning w/ Indianapolis 2003-2009 (120 games)*: - 10 - 10.4% of total wins * - excludes games each QB sat for seeding
One of the best coaching jobs in NFL history. Sparano took over a team that had won one game in 2007, one of the absolute worst seasons I’ve ever seen. I thought he was walking into a hopeless situation, but the Dolphins won 11 games in his first year and helped revive the career of Chad Pennington. Absolutely incredible
1:40:25 Can anyone explain why the Dolphins on 2&10 with no timeouts needing 43 yards and a Touchdown with 36 seconds left went under Center and ran a Play Action?
No excuse that Miami should of lost that game. Every time miami had the momentum and gotten the lead the defense would just get opened up n gashed for a big play.
1:44:30 When Suzie asks Peyton about surpassing Johnny Unitas in WINS in Colts history... the answer he gives is the answer of a TRUE HUMBLE QB. If Patrick Mahomes were asked this question, he would talk about how much better than Johnny Unitas he is, and that Johnny Unitas will never come close to the QB he is.

Possession
Thanks for the upload Bart. I love watching throwback Colts games and they are even better when they are on monday night football👌🔥
This was a very fun year to watch the Colts, Peyton Manning was such a pleasure to watch
I just finished watching the game and dam was it a great one. Plenty of action and drama. Tha is again for the upload Bart.
MNF won't ever be like this again without Jon Gruden and these commentators, I don't care, I don't care!
I’ve always thought that Mike Tirico was a very underrated commentator. When he left to go to NBC, there was a noticeable decline in quality when it came to the broadcast booth.
I agree these 2 were great together
They were good but wasn’t nowhere near John madden on mnf
*Fun fact:* This ended up being Peyton Manning’s last win at Miami

peyton was so good, he made me laugh.

This play... This play is why he's the best QB EVER.....
Only the Dolphins could possess the ball 45 minutes at home on Monday night and lose.Embarrassing
It’s not quite as embarrassing when Peyton Manning is the opposing quarterback. This was one of his best seasons
They did the same the year before with the Ssints. Dayum near held them scoreless in the first half. That ONE GAME is why their play-off seeding was low and they hot trounced.
@@damedan9389 they played the Saints the same year that this game happened
If u don't score a lot of points playing a Peyton Manning team it doesn't really matter how long you have the football his Always got a chance
Watching in 2021 and just hearing about Gruden during a MNF game. The irony of it is something else. Also com’on Jon!
I remember watching this game. Being so disappointed at the end of it.
The Colts played at Dolphins Stadium again that season in Super Bowl 44 and lost.
The Colts played at Dolphins Stadium 3 seasons earlier in Super Bowl 41 and won.
What a kick to end the half!

Ted Ginn jr with the drop:(
A reminder how much Ginn sucked for us. I just got as mad right now as I did in 09 LOL

Coach Sparano…msy he rest in peace. Fist pump!!

The Dolphins kept Peyton Manning off the field, but he still torched them
MNF hasn’t been the same since Tirico, Gruden, and Jaws left
I was at this game; Peyton Manning > Tom Brady
@aramyssierra2355 so bc you were at a MNF game 14 years ago that makes Peyton Manning > Tom Brady?? Hmmmm interesting. 🤦🏽🤦🏽
Thanks for the upload Bart! Do u happen to have 2008 Jaguars @ Bengals? I’m sorry for bothering you about it.
Awesome upload thanks : D

Rip Tony
Can you upload Titans at Jets 2015, if you have it? I’m sorry for bothering you about it.
thats why Ginn was traded
Wildcat play is the beginning
That missed TD by Ginn was pass interfere
Dolphins almost beat the top 2 teams in 09
No excuse that Miami should of lost that game. Every time miami had the momentum and gotten the lead the defense would just get opened up n gashed for a big play.

Wildcat!
This was on bad team 2008 and 2009
