That Hatfield was an absolute riot, I laughed so loud so many times ....
He's got a great head on his shoulders too because he knew who to answer the questions and how to spend the money.
Mr. Guy Hatfield had such an amazing sense of humour. How wonderful it is to be able to share a laugh with people from 1959 !
Mr. Hatfield is SOOO HONEST. And a good story teller too.
Wow. I've almost forgotten how polite and civilized young folks could be. Too bad today's youngsters (and many of their parents as well, sadly) aren't like those seen in this show.
I agree.
boo hoo
SOME young people ARE still quite polite! :-) But alas many are crude and rude and even worse.
I'm an old soul, 28... and who you just described is my dating pool. 😭
Another great program. Guy Hatfield is a hoot!
@ Col Adamson....
Yes indeed he was!!
Jr. Hatfield certainly favored his pappy. Thank you for sharing this, I enjoyed it.
The daughter is very pretty too!
The teenagers were so well dressed and polite. Most teens today wouldn't know the first thing about manners.
And they would wear pajama bottoms
So many great, interesting guests, Groucho in his prime, the quiz part of the show as a minor afterthought. No wonder these are still addictive to wach.!
Another awesome episode. The teens didn't "get" Groucho's humor....and that made it even funnier!
.
What a beautiful family. I hope his construction company was a success.
So Thankful for this show. Im 79 and need Groucho in my life. I need laughter. Its vital for my longevity. Thank you so much. I dont like Family Feud, to Vulgar. Groucho was a man who appreciated a Beautiful Woman. I didnt have a problem with it at all. He was on for over 10 years, so i wasnt by myself in my. Assessment! Right?
Astounding ! Who even knows about the early American feud of the Hatfield and McCoys any more?
No one, because American history is no longer taught in the USA.
28, and I know about it... and I'm here watching this old program....
I was born out of my time 😅
@@brandonk8948Me too 😔
@@jessewolf7649sad but true 😔
Some people don't know this but Grocho charged his employer's for a new suit for every show while he wore the same suit and just had it cleaned 😊 He was a very smart business man so if you notice his suit never changes same style with bow tie that's because it's the same suit every time 😆
Encore une épisode superbe! Merci pour le téléchargement!
Well, what do you know? Today is almost 12th of March here in England; now all I have to do is pretend its 1959! Thanks very much for uploading.
Greetings from America 🇺🇸
I identify as living in 1959
cool Mikey, greetings! @@mikeyates7931
And imagine that Gene Roddenberry used the Hatfield and McCoy feud for one of his episodes of Star Trek. SO, the question would have been, "was Dr. McCoy, "Bones" a McCoy"? Awesome episode! Guy Hatfield would had made a very good comedian. God Bless!
That was such a great program!
This is one of my favourite tv shows.
Aw-shucks, just focus in on the moms face ONLY, when her kids are mentioned and they come up on stage, so proud!
YES< didn't she just light up with a mothers love glow?
This was a good one.
Valentine & Guy Hatfield are such great candidates
Great Show. Just very Nice People, the Hatfields. Im Subscribed. Thank you for the showings.
Supremely entertaining, thanks.
You're very welcome! It's nice to see people are finally noticing these videos-- it's taken quite a while, I think because of the same old same old episodes that were posted to RUclips years ago on other channels and have hundreds of thousands of views. Most of the episodes I'm uploading are very rare.
You don’t really see many 15yo boys that polite these days. Alas.
This is my favorite of all the Groucho shows. Love those Hatfields. He reminds me of my dad from Arkansas. Wonder what happened to the family. Hope they got their Deluxe home. Guy was so funny.
Think I saw a recent pic on internet of the Hatfield daughter. She's alive still
This young man was already an Eagle Scout at the time. In fact, he was the youngest Eagle Scout in the history of the US at the time. And, he became a great adventurer and founded his own Adventure Company. He received a PHD, but didn't become an MD. A very interesting story that I found on his website: www.wheelerexpeditions.com/
Wow. Great link. Loved him.
Love this!!
That was the darkest context of the secret word I've ever seen on this show.
Oh, lighten up! I am from Kentucky and our favorite hobby is pulling your leg! People like you actually BELIEVE us! 😂
A Russian and a Hatfield....that is incongruous!!!!
I think the Hatfield kids got the Dr. Zhivago answer because of their Russian mother -- the film hadn't come out yet.
Only, they came up with it themselves. Mom wasn't there to help out when they were asked. They hardly knew the question in advance for mom to assist.
Love the freeway story!
I met a Hatfield once. She was a very nice lady with a strong accent. She claimed that the feud still existed. I hope not. The mountains are so beautiful without all of that. The sun comes up in bright colors over the valley fog. It's an amazing vision to behold.
Fantastic
Well educated and mature kids!!
Fenneman was indeed born in China, to American parents doing business. They returned to the States when he was 9 months old.
This Hatfield guy looks like Boomhauer on King of the Hill cartoon show, Groucho is shown as a cartoon from time to time, and best for 1 liners.
He's funnier than Marcho Grouch and Chico Harps.
Ms. Lilo Denkhaus was, and still is, so sweet and pretty. I found this 2016 recording of her from UPR.
www.upr.org/post/grandmothers-connection-her-grandaughter-her-birth
Thanks for posting this link to Utah Public Radio. Yes it was fun to see Lilo's picture and to hear Lilo's voice speaking as a Grandmother. I noticed in the UPR post that her name is listed as Lilo Hatfield.
Jackson is a good looking 15 year old...
Get you're squirrel gum ready if they don't win . lmao
Groucho, the US wasn't fighting Germany in 1914. The US didn't get into WWI until 1917.
Groucho Marx was a real talent!
My dad used to run moonshine when he was young. Don't think it was for these boys tho. He never said. LOL
It most certainly did *not* start with a pig!
That came later.
The majority of the Hatfields living in Mingo County (then part of Logan County), West Virginia fought for the Confederacy in the American Civil War; most McCoys, living in Pike County, Kentucky, also fought for the Confederacy; with the exception of Asa Harmon McCoy, who fought for the Union. The first real violence in the feud was the death of returning Union soldier Asa Harmon McCoy, murdered by a group of ex-Confederate Homeguards called the "Logan Wildcats". Devil Anse Hatfield was a suspect at first, but was later confirmed to have been sick at home at the time of the murder. It was widely believed that his uncle, Jim Vance, a member of the Wildcats, committed the murder.
Asa Harmon McCoy, who was despised by Jim Vance (uncle of Devil Anse Hatfield) for joining the Union Army during the Civil War, was discharged from the army early because of a broken leg. He returned home to a warning from Vance that Harmon could expect a visit from the County Wildcats, a local militia group with members from the Hatfield family including Devil Anse. Frightened by gunshots as he drew water from his well, Harmon hid in a nearby cave, supplied with food and necessities each day by his slave, Pete, but the Wildcats followed Pete's tracks in the snow, discovered Harmon, and fatally shot him on January 7, 1865
Love the Hatfield family!
Cool
That $10, 000 is worth $86,931.83 in todays money....
smart young man!
Hilarious
Those kids are so respectful and mature. Not like the millennial's and the entitled generation of today. What went wrong?
I so agree with you, Catweasle. To be sure, there are still SOME kids out there like presented here today, but they have become exceedingly rare. How thankful I am to have been raised in the generation exhibited on this program. It seems to me that today, I have nothing whatsoever in common with the typical young person of today, so it's very difficult to relate.
You cant generalize us all like that. Like im sick and tired of just trying to watch the stuff i like. And older people criticizing us. Like we're not human and we dont have feelings.
@Jet Ace, with cipherTV's last reply to you they totally undermined their mewling and whining. You called cTV on the money.
We , my boomer great ion spoiled them
I ment we, my boomer generation spoiled the 30 N 40 yr olds
"Avocado tree" LMAO
That 18 year old girl would be about 81 now. I think this show is about 1958 or so.
You need to fix the sound
So funny .high on the hog.groucho is the best
Charles and I are the same age, I hope he is still alive ?
They made peace between them
Actually Grant's Tomb, , is the final resting place of Ulysses S. Grant, 18th President of the United States, and his wife, Julia Grant.
I think I peed my breaches
hes.
Guy's entertaining as heck, but his claims are exaggerated--300 did not die in the feud. Wikipedia states a much more believable figure: "more than a dozen from both sides." 3:10 Kentucky and West Virginia had a legal dispute over extradition that was settled by the Supreme Court. Those states did not declare war.
@Bedrock Miner Don Right-- He Wouldn't exaggerate.
THANK YOU! I was about to wear my keyboard out trying to Google information about this "war" and came up empty. It is interesting to try and put yourself in their shoes. No internet, possibly no access to encyclopedias, one story gets slightly exaggerated, and so on, till eventually the story is "Kentucky went to war with WV"
We’re these Bobby Hatfield’s parents?
Jay Leno is remaking Groucho's show You Bet Your Life, I hope he pays respect to the great Groucho for it's his baby not Leno's
Hatfield could have had his own TV show with that dry wit of his. I've watched every episode on RUclips. There are still many more that are not here if this show ran for 10 years. Where are the other episodes?
✝️
Capistrano
It's funny watching these kids and realizing they're boomers, aka my generation's parents. Boomers and Millennials are more high strung and funny to watch.
