I agree, his bass is always on point. Another thing about Bowie's work is his mix of acoustic and electric guitars, especially 12-string. Check it out especially on Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane.
Absolutely beautiful song. As you love the paino you should try the title track next for one of the most famous and original piano solos in pop music. Then do the rest of the album it's all brilliant
Oh dear, I missed the boat on this one. So glad I checked your channel. OH WOW,,This song is so gorgeous!I I am so happy and excited to see your reaction. Diving in now! Mike Garson is on the piano. He blows my mind, Bowie 's voice in this one is just gorgeous. Great reaction as usual!
So pleased you reacted to this wonderful but often forgotten track. One of my favourite Bowie songs - LOVE it. BTW, regarding song view numbers, lots of people eat at McDonalds...
Fantastic song, a favorite of mine; Mike Garson on piano. Bowie had a fabulous talent for picking musicians to work with. Keys, for instance: Rick Wakeman on Hunky Dory, Roy Bittan on Station to Station; and Mike Garson returned in the 90’s thru ‘04. Not to mention the guitarists he worked with over the years; Mick Ronson, Earl Slick, Robert Fripp etc. And I agree the bass lines are sometimes taken for granted, but Trevor Boulder has a fabulous line and sound on “Lady Grinning Soul.”
PS: a oblique suggestion from ‘03’s “Reality” album- “Bring Me the Disco King” - an excellent song, Mike Garson on piano, Bowie vocals, and Sterling Campbell on drums
Ronson, Slick, and maybe a guy named Carlos Alomar. Dont forget his longtime bass girl. Gail Anne Dorsey... Also toured with drummer Aynsley Dunbar, who has a who's who of people he's played with.
Other than a cover of the Stones' "Let's Spend the Night Together" the rest of _Aladdin_ _Sane_ still holds up. The tracks vary in genre, though (everything from do-wop of "Drive-in Saturday" and "Prettiest Star" to heavy metal of "Cracked Actor"). The title track is awesome on its own, however.
What surprises me is that many people think the sound quality of 70s album productions was bad or at least worse than it is now and it's absolutely wrong they had amazing producers and sound engineers at the time they were limited by the number of tracks they could record on but that was all.
Lady Grinning Soul is the greatest piece of modern music yet devised and anyone who disagrees is a halfwit and it's only negative is that it is not longer,,,,listen to the whole album but the other tracks that elevate the stardust fellow to god like status are the title track and time and I envy you not having heard them yet they will blow you,,,,,,,,,,,ah yes
Funny enough, not one of my favourite Bowie albums although Lady Grinning Soul is one of my favourite tracks from this era. Aladdin Sane is a great title track but I have heard it so many times same with Gene Genie. My next favourite track is "Time," very Bowie and Panic in Detroit is pretty good but not stand out. Don't get me wrong, they all have some charm but Rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust, Hunky Dorey, Low and Diamond Dogs are all better and his best 70's work (IMO)
The title track will blow your mind! It’s my all time favorite song
I agree, his bass is always on point. Another thing about Bowie's work is his mix of acoustic and electric guitars, especially 12-string. Check it out especially on Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane.
Not only the piano is amazing her. The vocals, Ronson, Garson and Bolder!! This song will live forever!!!
In my top 3 Bowie songs. Most romantic song he ever did. Gorgeous.
It's virtually impossible to pick the best Bowie song!!!!
There's so many classics, it is indeed virtually impossible to pick an absolute favourite.
One of Bowie's finest vocals; should've been a Bond theme.

100% d'accord. Superbe.

Time is fantastic and has really great lyrics. The whole album is stunning. Thank you, as always.
Bowie once said the Aladdinsane album was Ziggy on Tour and taking in the culture of the USA

Rock & Roll Suicide from David Live from Philadelphia 1974 AMAZING SONG
I love 1984, and a later track called Loving the Alien.
I love drive-in Saturday
An amazing album, Time, Lady Grinning Soul and Drive In Saturday are my faves, but they are all excellent tracks.
Time is the next song to take a look at
Todd’s reacted to Time xx

What a song piano guitar and fabulous vocals im big bowie fan this is a brilliant song and one of my less know favourite songs haunting melody
Some critic once called it a James Bond theme tune. It wasn't, of course. But it did sound like one.
Aladdin Sane, Time!
THE best James Bond theme that never was

V Sexy song: Bowie's tiptoe into crooning, with ****Mike Garson's***** inimitable piano. Mike's all over the album.
Could easily have been a bond theme tune.
Vocals recorded in one take, need I say more…..

Perfect and excellent song....Bowie never did this song in concert.....Only on this album.....Why ? maybe it's too high and he did it once perfectly.
David Garson is a god.....he played with David until the end.
Coulda shoulda been a Bond song ⚡️
I've heard is about an old Lady, playing slot machines, typical Las Vegas!
Bowie often ended his albums with an incredible track.
Funny enough, not one of my favourite Bowie albums although Lady Grinning Soul is one of my favourite tracks from this era.
