The recent laksa you've ate is called asam laksa. The one in melaka is curry laksa. There're few other types of laksa that are totally different then the laksa you've tasted before. I recommend u to try laksa johor.. laksa sarawak and laksam (east coast state type of laksa). Nice video u made there. Hv a nice travel in penang.😊
Beer For Breakfast .. laksa curry is one part of laksa. Original recipee from baba&nyonya ethnic in melaka. So you won't find any other type of laksa curry😊. Each malaysian region has it own laksa. For eg. the penang laksa or asam laksa basically malaysian called it laksa utara. Utara mean north. So asam laksa is northen region laksa(including kedah n perlis state) is where the food original came from. So anyway in the nothern state, the laksa is always asam laksa. Same to laksa johor (southern), laksam (east coast) and laksa sarawak (malaysian borneo). Each laksa has it own different taste.
You should do more research on which hawker/stall/eatery to go to for the various iconic and must-eat dishes. I reckon your food hunt journey will be more satisfying and complete this way.
Your blogs are so good really enjoy watching them also good that you tell prices and the pop ups that show where places are not everyone does that and you find yourself Watching some blogs and wondering we're places are
ahhh thanks, Deb! You have no idea how long it takes to produce a video like that with so much details but when we read comments like, we totally think it's all worth it! 🙏 appreciate your support, Deb! Thanks for watching as always 💞
Assam Laksa is different from Curry Laksa. Assam Laksa is a sardin(sometimes other fish like tuna/mackeral are used) base broth, the famous one is in Air Itam.
Leonard Carr I think it depends on the the shop. Some place have it more salty, fishy, sour, etc and I think it also depends on people's preference. I love them both though. And laksa in Malaysia is different in every state, so if you have a chance do try them.
yeah, we gathered that. I think we definitely prefer Curry Laksa, especially the one that we had in Melaka...was sooo good! . Asam Laksa was way too fishy for us 😣
Beer For Breakfast You should try penang curry laksa too. It is different to the one in kl, ipoh and melaka. The penang curry laksa is with tofu puffs, squid and pork blood. The famous ones are lorong seratus tahun curry mee, sister curry mee, and tuai pui curry mee. And if you like char keoy teow siam road is very famous and good, however you have to be prepared to que for quite a long time.
hehehe, I notice that so many Malaysians always watch our videos through the night. We post a video at about 11pm and we wake up to hundreds of views..insane hehe
Yes...because we all waiting for your latest video and wanna know what kind of food you gals trying...And for myself I will go buy and eat it next day morning....😁😁😁
Hi girls! Hi Justina I have a little question - could you tell me please which company you use to teach? I have been looking at so many different ones, but it would be nice to know which one you use and would you recommend them? Andrew and I are still completing our TEFL courses and will be moving to Malaysia Feb 2019, but we are coming over in November this...would love to say hi!
Hey there. Justina uses Italki.com and another company called superkid. There are loads of jobs listed on a site called hioffer.com. Pretty sure you could find better paid jobs with your TEFL :). Wish you all the best with finishing your course and making it over here. Make sure to message when you arrive. Prepare to eat ALOT!
laksa is diff in every state.. but the one i know is penang more to sour taste, kelantan sweet coz made from fish and santan broth , got also curry laksa
Talk about bad hair day :p btw correct me if I'm wrong... but I think there are 2 types of Char Kuey Teow in Penang... The Chinese style Char Kuey Teow that is as the names implies "stir-fried ricecake strips" which is kinda fried and dry... And the Malay version Char Kuey Teow that is very wet(the famous one in Penang island is called "Sany Char Koay Teow" but I like the one in Sungai Dua) try Google "Char Koay Teow Penang" and see some of the image of the wet version...
Penang food is best!😜Kueh Tiao soup and Dry Kueh Teow.Clan Jetty is nice.Laksa is from Peranakan Chinese / BabaNyonya is local famous dish.Cendol from Chinese Teowchew people.
Thanks, guys! Yeah, it really is a shame..we are normally super lucky with food, actually haven't had a hair for a very long time.. but now..two in a row.. haha 🙈😅 More food tours from us to come! 🙏

How many can of Coke both of you drink? :D 3.52 the artist of making this art also from Lithuania same with Justina :) The artist called "Ernest Zacharevi"
We just got back from Georgetown yesterday. Visited quite a few eating places & cafes... we were quite disappointed with Google/Tripadvisor recommendations...better to ask Grab drivers next time. But here are some that you got to try. 01) Mugshot, coffee + salmon burger 02) Penang Hill David Brown's 03) Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng, the curry from the Indian stall next to it also very delicious! 04) Duck Kway-Chap at Kimberley Street 05) Wantan Mee from Chulia Street night hawker. An old uncle selling it. 06) Nyonya Kuih @ Moh Teng Peow. Not too bad. 07) Ferringhi Garden Restaurant. Top notch. 08) Sister Yao's Char Kueh Kak is not bad. 09) if you dare to try pork innards, go Hon Kei. It's delicious.
If hair, fly or anything strange in the foods, just don't hesitate to return it and get a new one.. or tell them off : Sorry, no thanks your shop is dirty !! 😉😉😆
Awesome place and beautiful wall art
Thank you! 🙏
It is good that you return the char kuey teow because it has hair. The chef should have observed the rules to wear a cap or head dress when cooking.
Agree. I don't think that they care that much sometimes.. 🙄
How are you girls? Can't wait to see more videos from Malaysia 😊😊
Very nice.... Awesome keep it up good

Hey there, we have been there for 7 days 🤗
oooo... yeah..hv good journey.... babe
I just woke up and am watching this and now I'm SOOO hungry, I want fish-noodle soup for breakfast. Unfortunately it's going to be oatmeal instead.
hahaha, not a bad option too! Have you ever tried Oyster Omelette? apparently it;s a huge thing here in Penang too! 😋
No, I've never tried an oyster omelette, as I have an egg intolerance. It doesn't sound as good as the soup!
Oh god, that last dish. I can't imagine how quickly all the spilled milk spoils in that heat and humidity!
so true. it was running down my sleeves. no jokes haha
When all come to Malaysia, the first thing is Eat,Eat n More Eat...Hahaha
We are forever eating haha. I am surprised we are not at 100kg yet haha 🙈😝

Malaysia is the most obese country in south east asia for good reason. I think we have the highest number of Diabetes patients too.
Ohh really? ohh woow, didn't know that. Doesn't seem that bad. But I must say, your food is freakin delicious! 😌
