Thank you so much for the help, but i cant find my pressure foot dial at all, even when i open the front section. It is a Toyota and i cant find any help online as to where they hide their dial for this! I need to tighten it as fabric is sliding around.
Thanks for this I'm trying to get rhe pressure right on my sewing machine I got an old brother window matic sewing machine and still learning how the pressure foot works and this is handy as my mum used to sew as a machinist when I was younger but I never was shown how the pressure foot was and how it changes things on the sewing machine thanks for this x helps lots
My fabric is suddenly not feeding through smoothly, unless i guide it and go slow, it makes the row of stitches wobble about. Is this the presser foot? It suddenly feels not HEAVY enough. BTW i also lost zigzag function, the lever no longer swings something in the shaft across. Thanks!
I would take a look at the feed dogs and the presser foot, if the machine doesn't feel the same. When was the last time you had a professional cleaning? Maybe it's time to service your machine.
It might be the presser foot pressure but if the thread also gets tangled in the back or front of fabric you need to check other factors such as correct thread type, correct needle size and type and machine threaded correctly.
I have a Dual Sew 3400 and I cannot for the life of me find something to adjust the pressure foot tension. Does anyone know if this model even has that feature? I’m getting desperate.
Got it. Bummer. Yeah so I did. I scoured the manual and it seemed to imply there was a way to do it but then the page it said was blank, like I got a defective manual or something.
I'm sorry for your troubles, Sandra! I'm not a technician but I don't think presser foot tension setting is the culprit here. Check if there's some thread stuck in the lever, the bobbin winder tension disc or in the needle bar!
Hi Elaine. I've never heard of pressure foot and I don't believe such thing even exists! If it does and I lived under a rock all these years, I apologize. There's a presser foot and the presser foot pressure (or tension) which is the pressure executed by the presser foot. There are 2 additional types of tension, the bobbin tension and the thread tension. To sum up, tension on sewing machines involves three aspects: presser foot tension (pressure), bobbin tension and thread tension. In this tutorial I covered the first one: the presser foot tension (pressure)
You machine might not support lifting the presser foot on more than 1 level. You should first check your manual and if does support it, you should check with a repair shop
I have watched other videos (including Singer official video) saying that light fabric needs less pressure (turn minus), while thick fabric needs more pressure (turn plus). Your video is completely the opposite.
I have watched so many trying to understand tension and this, this was amazing! Right to the point and so simple to understand thank you!!!
Thank You, Thank You, Mwah this tip is a nugget for me

Too bad I cannot tell where the adjustment screw is located on the machine. You weren't clear

Pleaaase what about bobbin tension?? The one located in the bottom of the machine!! Bcuz no matter, hat I keep getting loose thread
Here's the video for bobbin tension, Zahra ruclips.net/video/bFa6yi2JPtw/видео.html

You're welcome, Petina! I hope this tutorial helps you figure out the right tension for your projects! xoxo

@@EasyPeasyCreativeIdeas thank you, i am trying to find someone to service it.
Suddenly, my pressure foot will not go up all the way. Any suggestions?
It might need a deep clean. I suggest taking your machine to a repair shop.
on my vintage kenmore 158 the fabric just won't budge at all, will not go forward, then what is the issue?

Karisa, some machines don't have this option. Go through the manual, it's probably mentioned there

Thanks for your response.
@@karisatotah8407 So sorry to hear that! I wish I could help but have no experience with this machine!
@@EasyPeasyCreativeIdeas no problem. Thank you so much!!
I tried to regulate my presser foot and now my thread take up lever seem stuck. Can you help

Turns out mine doesn't have such a setting 😢
First - people need to understand that the pressure foot is not the same as the presser foot.

My pressure foot won’t lift up how could I fix this

Lose the happy music. Very distracting
Very easy to turn off at your end, just a click away!
