Most anglers on the west coast learned this technique from Ensenada Mexico with the Panga Fleet high speed trolling, as well as Billy K showed everyone how its done in 2022, using the Madmacs started in So-Cal and Nor-Cal fisherman jumped onboard and got with the program, well done.

Such a good idea with a spoon, used to save remnants. Still, there's even more you can do. Cook the bones and the head to get really beautiful stock, before you dispose of them!
I don't know why but this just came up today for me? Question: Are you not concerned about parasites in the raw fish? I have done Shawshimi with fresh Blue Fin but after that I was catching ling Cod at 250 and they would often show the worms or parasites??
Different fish have different amounts of parasites. Lingcod are often sitting on the bottom, which makes them prone to have parasites crawling on and latching onto them compared to blue fin tuna. In this video, we followed the FDA regulations of freezing the fish prior to making any meal with the raw meat.
