I do a variation of this trick. Basically narrow it down to 2 choices, but in reality it’s 1 choice because I spread the cards in a way where the suit of the far card is covered so they don’t choose that one. Awesome vid
This is a great idea man!
When I mess around with this particular force I use the 4 and the 9 as my 2 outs just because I sort of hint around kings and aces being high cards and that people sometimes are drawn into picking high/valuable/powerful cards (without specifically pointing them out) and that leaves the black card (another obvious choice) the 4 and the 9 (the most inconspicuous of the bunch and the 4 being the front runner of the 2). Either way I love using this because you're right it does feel like real magic when it works out.

You should do a part 2 to this! Saying what to do of they pick the other cards. I am still a beginner and am not that quick on my feet so it would be amazing if you could give some options in case of that scenario.
Hey man, nice to see people joining magic. If you’re afraid about failure, do this trick and have an invisible deck in your pocket so you can just change the presentation and make it look like it was just part of the trick to get it wrong and that you actually have their card flipped over beforehand from another deck.
The trick showed in the video shouldn’t be done as an opener. It should be done in the middle of your other routines after you’ve established a little bit of credibility. If you do this as an opener and you fail right from the start people will think they accidentally hired a shitty magician lol and I think it’s actually a better idea if you present this as an experiment of syncing your minds together instead of typical old boring “I’m gonna read your mind “ so if you fail you can just blame it on their frequency or their wavelengths or whatever and don’t make a big deal out of it and just move on to something else. I would usually just say something like “you know what, I think your mind works a little differently than most people, it’s very interesting how you think. I wanna show you something specifically for you. I think I figured out how your mind works now’ and then do something that’s sure fire. Hell, you can even pull out your invisible deck and just say something like “alright I’m feeling a bit bold today, I got it wrong with 5 cards so instead of doing it with just 5 cards I wanna try it with you but with an entire deck. Can you think of any card in the deck? Yeah anyone. The 7 of hearts? Perfect. BOOM!

@@CardMechanic Hi, I finally managed to do the test :) out of 52 tries I was only right once ! :D :D :D Considering i have 1 out of 5 chances to be right without any try to influence anyone, I think I did well to hit 1 over 52 :D
I need to practice my talking, i probably don't talk enough leaving the choser too much time...or i'm just bad at it :D
I'll try again ! We had a good laugh ! Yes, at my expense :D, twas turkey night anyway, I was in the groove (turkey night is a night when we watch not purposely ridiculous movies, to us anyway, like old monster films)
Forgotten to say that i tried the test via mail, didn't work either but that's normal, too much thinking time (that's not part of my 52 tries, which were live.

I love performing these tricks but I do know that there's a chance that it could go wrong. That is why I might do this for the trick instead. (Disclaimer: I don't have a marked deck so I don't know if this would work.) Lay out any 5 marked cards face up. Turn around and ask the spectator to remember one. Once they do, have them turn the cards face down and mix them around. Now you can either do this with your back still turned around or you can now face the spectator and the cards. Ask the spectator to name their card out loud and now since you can read the markings, you can reveal their card any way. If you have this deck, let me know how it goes!
