Halaena looked like she had a sudden wave of realisation, as they go to kill the child, telling her this isn’t one of her dreams or visions, that it’s actually happening and she had to leave… acting is incredible.
glad you were recognizing how talented and emotive phia is with her eyes. her facial expressions looked like renaissance paintings in these last two episodes. her dream like state and disregarded premonitions remind me a lot of the myth of cassandra. it’s so sad how she sees so much coming in the future but everyone shrugs off her comments and writes her off. no wonder she’s hardly mentally present. i wish we got more scenes of her. i wish we got to see more of her interactions with aegon but maybe they truly avoid each other as much as possible after having to have kids together.
Im not sorry to say Otto was THE GOAT in this new episodes.

32:38 yes exactly. He’s loyal but he always wants to do things his own way, or what he thinks is best and be appreciated for it. But when does things behind her back like that, how does he expect her to trust him? He doesn’t want the throne, he wants to feel important, and he lies to himself saying that viserys was afraid of him when really he didn’t trust him. I just hope he can gain rhaenrya’s trust back when he raises an army for her at harenhal.

I don’t why there is so much love for viserys this episode. Daemon loved his brother but he didn’t lie about any of his characteristics. If otto never lied about daemon’s a prince for a speech after that baby died in the beginning viserys would have never got all emotional and sent daemon away and made rhaenyra the heir. Viserys’ trust is being brought up like it’s this great thing to achieve but he trusted otto over his own brother and look how his judgment in who to trust is literally ending his family

Did you just assume Otto lied about Daemon toasting to Viserys's sons death? Thats wild. We literally saw the s*x party he was in. Then he later didn't deny it when asked about it. This is pure cope.
But Daemon did say that and it’s in the show. When he is the brothel with his gold cloaks. Listen I am not pro-Otto but he didn’t lie there😂
Then Daemon tries to hit Viserys with “everyone copes in their own way” after he gets caught, admitting to it.
What I really like that they have done with the show so far is that they are demonstrating why you can make a very strong argument that Shireen Baratheon (Stannis’ daughter from Game of Thrones) was right about the Black and Green factions in that you shouldn’t choose either of them. Both sides have major flaws with immoral characters. They have also done a brilliant job of making the characters sympathetic, even ones like Aegon and Aemond. Sure, some characters are more villainous than others, but there really are no antagonists or protagonists in the story. Also, Patty Considine as King Viserys set a really high bar in the acting aspect of the show, but man, I think Rhys Ifans delivered big time, especially in the scene when he chews out Aegon for murdering all the ratcatchers. Thanks for the video, Matty. You’re doing great! Just go at the speed you need, we will still be here!

@@mattyreacts Hey, thanks, man. I appreciate it! Yeah, I think I’m leaning more towards the Blacks too. Ultimately, it comes down to the fact that Viserys named Rhaenyra his heir, and the throne was usurped.

I wouldn't say Alicent is a hypocrite, it's been 20 years and people change. Also, she did her duty to Viserys, she put duty before pleasure and only now she is seeking desire, where Rhaenyra in S1 sought desire before duty...
Wow, youre the first person Ive seen to remember that Alicent has performed her duty. While what she's doing isn't right, it doesn't carry nearly as much weight as what Rheanyra did back then

Seeing Rhaenyra, Syrax and Helena mourn over their babies is so gut wrenching also did you notice Helena walked the same path Rhaenyra walked up the stairs while leaving a trail of blood after giving birth. Loved seeing the Young Stark lord 😔,also I really can't stand Alicent and Cole or really any green except Helena

okay listen, even tho i’m team black i’m sometimes an alicent apologist but my GOD she’s been killing me this season. when she said “ser criston is not temperate” i was thinking girl??? did you forget him bashing in an old man’s head for disliking the usurping plan that you yourself weren’t comfortable with?? his head game is FUCKING YOUR HEAD UP you can’t fix him girl!! i thought you had a brain behind those big beautiful brown eyes, alicent, this isn’t you.
AND when she finds aegon crying but doesn’t be a mom by fucking comforting or hugging him i LOST IT. how are YOU as a MOTHER gonna find your son in shambles after losing HIS son and then decide “oh welp this is crazy imma leave” LIKE??? when rhaenyra saw lucerys she shared in his love and loss, validated his pain and embraced him for both their sakes. yet alicent never once does that with aegon. how’re you gonna calm him down? i don’t think she was tender towards him ONCE in the entire episode and it’s crazy cuz even CERSEI was more loving with her kids, even JOFFREY. she’s only ever that loving still towards helaena, who seems to be the only one of her kids who actively avoids being touched by her. and even that is probably bc she hates her mother secretly for marrying her to her brother at such a young age. like i love her and ik she loves her children but she’s rlly not a good mother 😭 and i feel bad for her but her sons issues are partly cuz she raised aegon to be so awful somehow. and obviously his fathers absent disregarding of his children besides rhaenyra played a role, but aegons shock at hearing alicent say kind things to him (even if harshly) in the last season, to which she called him an imbecile if i recall correctly, reveal that she’s never been good at expressing affection to him. lemme stop ranting. i don’t hate her but this season is showing me her failures as a parental figure.
maybe she has a brain and maybe she’ll always be pliable to the whims and wishes of the man in her life

Otto has been absent emotionally from Alicents life. Alicents mother died when she was young so she didn't get any motherly love, and her father didn't accommodate at all. Viserys also cared about his legos more than he cared about his children. I bet you he doesn't even know how many kids he has since he didn't even register that Daeron wasn't at the dinner with them. Why is it surprising that this all has made Alicent bad at offering emotional support to her children that she birthed out of duty to an old uncaring man at a young age?
Comparing her to Rheanyra's parenting is like comparing the struggles of a middle class kid with that of a kid in poverty. Rheanyra had her mother up until her mid teens. Rheanyra also had her father who showed her love. She also gave birth out of love and not duty. If she didn't give that love to her kids, that would've been shocking and cruel of her.
Rhaena is Corlys's GRAND daughter, not daughter.
