University students never change. Great to see you so enthusiastic. Phones dying might be to do with continually searching for a signal as they get blocked by buildings and tunnels, it is just a little two way radio after all. Just keep checking your card account to make sure other people are not scamming it. Thanks for your impressions.

Amazing video Dasha!!!! It warms my heart to see the excitement and happiness inside of you. As I watched it I thought ahead 20 years when you'll be a successful young woman with a great life. You will look back and watch this video with a big smile on your face.
We are thrilled to have you and all your international classmates here in the US. The future is bright because of you all.
    Best of luck this semester.

Great video! You’re right about giving waiters our credit cards, seem strange. It is customary in USA for this and I’ve never been worried. We eat out at lots of restaurants and it’s like this all over the country. Paying with cash is a good alternative

The building with the gorgeous mural on the ceiling. I grew up in a small town with 2000 people that was the center of the local state government that has a smaller mural on the government building ceiling that could match it. Most local and state people don't realize this fantastic mural is there! The museum looks equal to or better than the Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History in Pittsburgh, PA. It is one of the best museums in the USA. I am glad that you took the time to view the museum in NYC because it is the experience of a life time to view such a rare museum. The insect killed in your apartment looks like a roach. Is your apartment above a place to eat? Better buy some roach poison or powder! Much of my wife's and my furnature was picked up off the curb because it was left when someone moved. Other furnatures were bought at Goodwill, Salvation Army, or ReStore. ( used heavily discounted furniture whose profits go to help the poor, build housing for the poor, or help those who are physically or mentally handicapped) So, keep your eye open for abandoned furnature and these stores so that you can help the homeless people in NYC. Many of the three stores I mentioned will deliver your furnature for a fee, including carrying it up the stairs. Most of this furnature is not flat pack like IKEA Furnature, its real furnature sold for less money than IKEA furnature. Make sure the furnature will fit up your stairwell and through you apartment doors before buying it.

And if you want to save money on clothes, NYC is a good place for thrift shopping. There's lots of thrift shops and second-hand clothes in East Village and Williamsburg. Goodwell, too. If you're trying to get plates, utensils, and other cookware cheap, I would go to secondhand and thrift stores since it's much cheaper than buying new. I got four plates, and a couple bowls for about $10

I rented a small room in NY for 600 capitalist dollars 💵 a month.
    Cool you finally settled 🏠.
I remember also slept few nights in some Russian immigrants apartment and there were bedbugs. I ran away from that place and came back to my first hostel on Brighton where the fat snoring guy didn’t let me sleep. (Now I also snore a lot though 😅) Then one of my phones was stolen there and some clothes 😅. Then finally I rented some room. But it’s nice that despite the 🪳 roaches and rats 🐀 also you can see the cute squirrels 🐿 from the window 🪟 which I only saw in New York from the big cities around the World. Why am I writing it all I don’t know. But just Dari with her video made me nostalgic. Ohh yeah and I remember the crazy line to some Starbucks mostly of the girls. I was a simple boy and didn’t know all those fashionable places. But I liked the cheap pizza 🍕 places and I gained 6 kg in 3 month in America. I was going to gym there as well and got muscles too. Protein cost there just 20 dollars for almost a kilogram. They use some weird measures in America. Like .lb or something. In Russia it costs much more if it’s imported. Maybe 2-3 times more.

About the phones: you are probably using the european version of the IPhone . That was built to run primarily on different network frequency ( being also over a year old and having 500 chargers also doesn’t help)
Yes, the phones are different both in terms of network chips but also in terms of batteries and charging modules ( they are optimized for 110v not 220v like yours).
When you will get a new one you will also notice the new ones ( from 14 on) in the us don’t have sim trays, so you can’t use them like in Dubai ( esim with your number from your country and a local sim with local number for deliveries and stuff).
They are the same phone but tweaked for the region of primary use

Yaayyy! I don't want to tell you something you already know, (probably what you have forgotten about the 'iPhone I still need to learn), but on my little iPhone 7, the round button at the bottom, for opening up the 'phone, also controls the pages you open, in that if you press it twice quickly, all the pages you opened appear. If you swipe them up you close them, saving you battery power big time. I do this several times a day. Also, charge the 'phone at around 30%. Stop charging the 'phone at around 97%. You made NY seem really beautiful and a great place to visit. I only really visited the Empire State, and was whisked around a little bit of the city by a friendly taxi driver charging $100 for the day. Unfortunately he had to leave early. In any case I wanted to get out of NYC asap to move to Oregon.

Sidewalk furniture. We recently got rid of a bureau or as non-bostonians call it a dresser that I got back in 1995 from my current roommate's former landlord. I don't even know how many people used it over the years. It wasn't fancy it was just cheap, probably not even wood. But it held up. We put it out on the side of the street because we don't have any sidewalks down here, it's really strange. and no one took it! I will have to check with my roommate again to see what ever became of it. Usually you don't have to throw things away because people will just come and take them. And especially in college towns, in May, people just put things out on the street I mean the sidewalk. I heard someone say to go to rich neighborhoods and you will find even nicer sidewalk furniture. But I was almost shocked before you mentioned that it came from the sidewalk. I thought you had actually bought furniture. (Yes, we do buy mattresses. By the way, what was the name of the mattress you bought? The one I'm sleeping on I've had it for 22 years and I really think it might be time... (Stupid thing cost $1,300. Seems to me that buying mattresses is confusing. Like buying cars.)

You have already seen so much of the city in such a short time. When I was studying in NYC and living in Manhattan, I always found a trip to Central Park on a Sunday afternoon to be the best thing to do to relax from the fast pace of the city. And as a bonus, you get to see the incredible sky-line of
Fifth Avenue, Central Park South and Central Park West.

Amazing video Dari l’m glad that you liked the view from the restaurant at the top stunning views and looks quite high up and you looked very happy. Similar views when l when up The Shard in London not as high as New York ones. I managed to take the picture of the view the toilet window and The Tower of London and Tower Bridge 800 feet up (243.84 metres).

There should not be much of a difference between American and international iPhones. The only difference would be that American iPhones have more 5G bands. You could try disabling Wi-Fi one your phone when you do not need it to save electricity.
It is possible that the battery in your iPhone is wearing out. You could try opening the settings app, select Battery and then select Battery Health and charging. It will show you how much your battery capacity has deteriorated from the initial 100% battery. My iPhone was bought new 18 months ago and now only has a 91% maximum capacity. Apple recommend that you take your iPhone into an Apple store and pay $50 to replace the battery if it falls below 80%.

@@DariStep I know you are busy but if you want to see something really unusual in New York then seek out the 5th Avenue New York Apple store which is a cube of glass with the bulk of the store being underground. You could ask them why your phone seems slow. I would like to see a video of the trip. It is open 24/7.
