I like the concept a lot. I agree that James' childhood will likely be a theme on this album.
of course it will be James childhood because I dont see any tennis racket on the cover.
Dyers Eve ????
But… I actually told the cover isn’t about James particularly 😆 Lyrics, on the other hand, will surely be
I hope so
@@xenounde0
Like a Dyers eve 2 just like unforgiven ll or lll
Definitely the most unique album cover, besides semen on load
You mean the ACTUAL load in the Load cover?🤭😂
Very cool concept, and the black and yellow really jumps out!
72 seasons divided by 4 seasons/year is 18 years.. for me the album cover represents the transition from childhood to adolescence of one of the band members (probably James)
yup, the first 18 years of your life shapes you into who you are in a massive way. At 18, you feel eternal! After that, you start to fade away slowly.
But he never owned a strat as a kid, only Kirk did
@@gsr2084 yeah it still have me thinking but I realized that the objects are modern so maybe it's about the new generations of Metallica (or metal in general) fans
Thats so simple yet genius
that makes the most sense , but probably thing from all the members, hatfield didn't have a strat as far as i know, or it could be random shit the photographer found, who knows, (the photographer ,that's who, lol)
12th album, 12 tracks and 12 albums in catalogue. I have a feeling this might be their last album. 12 tracks might be a mixture of all they achieved over the years. Any thoughts :) ?
It wouldn't have to be their last but considering they can't figure out how to release an album more than once a decade, you might be right.
11th album
Actually, it’s their 11th studio album. Garage Inc, S&M(s) and Lulu don’t count for different reasons
I doubt this is their last tbh, they might have at least one or two more albums before they retire. I mean they're in their 60s and some bands have gone on in their 70s and considering how the Metallica guys are healthy for their age I guarantee you they have some more time on their clock before they quit it.
@@beinmetal I think he means this would be the 12th, considering that Garage inc, S&M and Lulu don't count.
72 seasons is 18 years, this is definitely themed around childhood or perhaps james’ childhood and his coming of age.
27 items...27 reversed is 72
that's what i thought too
Something about growing/breaking form fear. Yellow and black in nature means danger. And possibly since this album was made during co^id restrictions they are escaping the danger of being quarantined and doing what they love.
Yeah the plandemic really messed with everyone's head....
72 Seasons = 18 years
Isn't that how old he was when kill em all was made?
@@Finn_the_Cat he was 20 when it released, he was 18 when the band formed
had a feeling it had something related to growing up, I bet this might tackle feelings of getting older or something along the lines of that. Finding your identity and sense of self, maybe some hardships kids and teens go through, et cetera. This is totally gonna be a heavy album, not just style-wise but theme-wise.
@@thezonaiarchitect aka its a crisis product, newest song is pretty much washed out Hit The Lights
The thing to the very bottom right can also be a gun handle, just a handpistol. But it can also be a pedal.
looks like Rammstein played on birthday party for some 3 year old kid.
rammstein pulled a lamb of god
I really like the album cover! Artists, and people that admire art and go to art galleries and stare at art would love this, too. The only thing I might change is having the whole band name, METALLICA over the crib instead of just the M. But I still like it.
I agree I like the M but be really cool with Metallica over the crib.
i love the album cover!!
the M
æt thE top right of the cover is
reference Metallica ⚡
The concept is
The album is called 72 seasons which is 18 years
Based on the song Lux Æterna they're going back to the roots but still including the new Metallica sound in some parts
Some of the toys appear in the "Where the wild things are" lyrics. Also, maybe it's my mind that projects it but... the album cover color scheme strongly resembles me the smiley face icon and the connection with the Doomsday Clock via Watchmen. I dunno, just my 2 cents.
Damn this is so cool. Can’t wait to hopefully see them on tour soon.
That broken crib is really powerful and theres something about the yellow that just works. Can't wait for this one.
3:31 It looks like a Kalimba
You don't smoke...I applaud you. I abstained from that myself and my lungs thank me for it.
0:57 even little baby James had the power stance.
I doubt if they hid Larps crash in the cover art.
What would he do without it?
Something I put together with this is that 72 seasons works out to 18 years. So all of the items on the cover would be used in that time span. What this really means is beyond me though.
3:32 i think that's a guitar amp, but i may be mistaken since that's like literally 15 pixels from the "amp"
@3:47 Those are definitely prescription pill bottles. If you look at roughly the 7 o’clock position, south of the bottles, you’ll see some burnt up capsules.
3:37 It looks like a the bottom of a lying amplificator.
I read a very interesting article from Guitar World this morning that says the guitar may be a Fernandes LE-1 from the late 1980s. Kirk played one of these back in the day and recorded with it on Garage Days Re-Revisited. They claimed the headstocks look similar (that's definitely not a Fender/Squier headstock)
3:26 chair looks like one where you give blood or old style grammar school chair/desk, theres a small table on one arm w/ the string to hold pen/pencil.
3:46 some type of bottle, pills maybe, you can see there are 4 or 5 that came out of the bottle, as you can see there is still one half in the bottle still.
If there wasnt the M, Id guess Stryper put out a new ablum...
Oh, Stryper DID just put out a new album. Pretty good one, too.
Cool
the shoe ,bottom left is a baby bootie, bottom right might be an old style suitcase, it looks like it has an upolstry pin /tack that has a dome, that stuff was popular in the 70's, the thing at 3:47 does look like pill bottles, there are what looks like melted pill capsules below and left of them
Idk bout any of these “secret” meanings… all I know is that I’m excited for Screaming Suicide. It’s such a sick name & I’m hoping the song will be as good as it sounds.
The yellow with black font first reminded me of the sex pistols album and I wasn't that keen on the colour scheme but now I really like it it's awesome
2:18 That could possibly be a reference to Where the Wild Things Are. They look like toy soldiers to me
I would just like the name logo at top
Hello! It's not a back yard chair. It's an old kind 70s - 80s school chair with a mini desk. Back in the 70s - 80s there wasn't a large desk where a couple of students sitting. Every student was sitting alone and got its own chair with integrated desk. Also the upper left shoe must be a Converse Chuck Taylor All Star cause it was James and Kircks loved shoes along with the 1980s Kick Sneakers and more specific to every teenager in that Metal - Rock period. They where iconic shoes among the Thrashers for decades. If you see younger photos of James (Kill Am All period and earlier) on stage (i got a poster) he wares them in two different colors black and red also Kirck wears them until now.
Someone mentioned in the video where Lars announces the new single to Howard Stern.
The tour is called M72 which is also the same name as the *M72* LAW anti tank rocket launcher.
I thought the cigarettes were a pack of markers, then I thought it was a cowbell, but cigarettes makes sense especially next to the lighter. Good shit my friend
The mystery with that cover art album feels like Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles.
Those strange tubes which looks like medicine tube boxes actually looks extremely similar to burnt glass bottles - after applying much heat bottle starts to melt and it looks something like this. Since they included beer cans, I think bottles can refer to some alcohol too.
Looks like a busted up bong to me.
The hammer next to the toy could be be a hint to Kill 'em All. The thing in the corner, could it be a guitar amp? The medicine tubes, I think it's like a homemade weed bong. I like the concept but not so much yellow. To me, it represents the feeling of all your life passing fast, like a nostalgia of thinking of all the things from newborn to youth are gone (burned). The title of the album makes total sense with that.
Papa Het's feeling olde so he's trying to revive the same energy they had in the '80s (with great results!)
Kinda miss not having the old logo front n center
The chair is a school chair, you can see the little side desk attached.
These families leaving kids broken beaten and scarred
That thing in the bottom right corner kind of looks like the edge of an amp.
Did anyone else think of Lars talking abt crib death on the Howard stern show from seeing the cover
i think the thing in the bottom right is the bottom of a gun handle, also the "medicine bottles" are probably made of glass. i think its a bong.
There does appear to be a kill ‘em all mallet to the right
That thing to the right of the guitar's headstock is a broken and burnt bong my friend Andriy. I'm 99% positive of it ever since I saw it. I'm guessing that it's all things they would've used in their childhood and adolescence, and since all of them smoked the 420's when they were young it makes sense.
Kirk still smokes pot. He said in an interview that he'll never stop smoking it. 😆🌱💨
I think yellow ground might be an attribution to Gadsden flag. But I dunno...
Metallica have never been known for great album cover art
But I respect them for not jumping on the ‘mascot’ bandwagon
i think master of puppets, and justice for all and death magnetic have perfect album cover
@@4md17 yea justice is ok I guess
I’m not saying any are bad , to me they are just meh….
Bro those tubes are tennis ball tubed! Lars-tennis
Hey, I said the condom thing was a total shot in the dark haha. I agree, we’ll go with medicine tubes for now. I figured it was something else, but that’s kind of what it looked like at first glance! I also looked more into the pictures you posted before looking at the album cover closely. Because of that, I didn’t realize that most of the things there were things that you’d expect a child to have. Condoms are not one of those things haha.
didn't you say in you last video that u dont get into finding easter eggs on album covers
I think James said something about how the first 72 seasons of your life can almost feel like a prison and ngl those crib bars look like prison bars to me anyway
That looks like the tubes tennis balls come in
tbh the only thing i dont like about it is the m. it feels off center and it would looks better with the full logo there. other than that, it's really cool and i'm surprised at the amount of people i saw on their instagram post about it saying they thought it was ugly
The pills' tube could refer to those aspirin, or something similar, that James brother gave to him. He often had headache, but their parents religion forbade medicines. After their mother's death, James moved to his brother home. He was afraid to have those pills, but in the end he accepted. I read about this episode in a book about the band, but in this moment I don't remember which one, sorry.
Tennis ball tubes. Lars was going to be a tennis player.
@@robeddy3722 Heh - I thought it was a bong. Who knows!
3:35 --> that's a car
Skateboard is probably kirks thing, he likes skating. Also are you playing delivering the goods?
Hate the album poster, but i wait hungry for the new bangers!!! Let the good thrash roll
Those "tubes" are tennis ball tubes that new tennis balls come in. Lars was going to be a tennis player but his father told him he should follow his dreams and that was to be a rock star.
I believe is a school chair with a tablet, so that represents school
i think it represents the sun aka lux eterna that burns our "toys"
Reminds me of: HELLVEN: Born Into Brutality.
theory: inamorata stands for a persons female lover and as the final track on the album like andriy said in his last video, we may see an instrumental or a ballad in the album
the bottom right look like a small box amp/speaker for practicing guitar
3:44 can'r see the pyramid you mention
The M is interestingly placed like lightning and everything is charred black. 72 seasons is 18 years. Maybe this is the burning of everything that has shaped adolescence.
3:28 seems to be a school chair with an arm.
I like the color, usually metal music tends to be black
Oh I get it the ‘sun’ of darkness is behind the crib duh
3:47 that's 100% a bong
3:31 is a car toy, you can see its wheels on the shadow.
There’s also an M in the corner
Interesting that they take on childhood.
72 seasons = 18 years.
That tubes could be a broken bong
Eleventh album! 11! ELEVEN! Stranger Things. Eleven!
Metal tube is most likely a tennis ball tube as Lars was a great tennis 🎾 player when he was young.
🤘
Their album cover is a story of the rock and roll metal life from cradle to....?
I know it’s getting a lot of shit, but I absolutely love the album cover.
This album cover is photographed by the same photographer who did the balenciaga shoots
Wake up people - this is strange stuff - there is something happening in this world behind the scenes that isn’t what it seems
Look up the balanciaga shit that happened if you haven’t seen it
where did you find this out
Just news bro - these people are satanists, they believe in fucked up shit - satanists don’t believe in the devil, they believe they are the devil, these are the people behind everything, some might say they are what people call the illuminati, maybe, perhaps, whatever, just research and think for yourself man, your own opinion is all thats matters
the strat could be kirks
Maybe he had a fender as a kid
лайк за Чернігівське біле)
The cover is leaning towards the English term "Throwing your toys out of the cot", I think.
“Im not gonna get into that” “i like to find easter eggs in the ACTUAL music”
From cradle to 18 we are told who we are supposed to be and that's nutured by the toys and things we have, then we experience adulthood and truly seek to figure out who we are suppose to be and she'd all the meaningless items and opinions we grew up with.
Breaking free of the bondage of being a child molded by parents into society. Child breaks out of the cradle and the scattered items are what's discovered during the journey of life. My interpretation anyway.
Three wheel bicycle = tricycle
I am more confused/surprised about you not knowing Converse. For me these shoes are bound to rock music and skating.
Converse, skinny blue jeans and a metal shirt is so absolutely 80s thrash metal.
But yeah. That's the small differences because of east/west Europe.
i only wear and was always wearing converse. im from Croatia so... i dont understend how can he not know??
The album art is alright i guess, but i really can't get over the fact that they did not include the classic band name logo on top of it.
It is so painfully incomplete and all that empty space hurts me everytime i look at it.
@@ifeobasa5459 well, St. Anger doesn't really need the logo (although I think it could still fit in somehow). 72S has this huge blank space in the upper part that just doesn't feel right
It looks like a single
Honestly, it looks like a rendered image from an A.I 🤔
2:54 Біле нефільтроване 😋
This may be a coinsidence, but there are 27 objects and there is a popular believe that artists are most likely to die at age 27. Think of Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt, etc.
They maybe want to make many Stranger Things fans buying their upcoming album.
This item in the bottom right definitely is wah
I'm a huge metallica fan but I dont like this album cover. To me it looks silly and very chaotic compared to their previous covers but I respect it.
I think they get the cover colors from Black Sabbath “live at last”,Dave mustaine is a better lead guitar player hetfeild is a hell of a picker
Definetly a guitar pedal
