      @@omarmalik2913 Thanks for the suggestion Omar! Glut. is simply three amino acids bonded together. If the skin is healthy enough and the diet is sufficient enough, it will be expressed in the skin anyway as long as there are sufficient amounts of vitamins A, C & E etc. I personally don't have it in my skincare at all because I simply make the cells healthy enough to generate their own Glut. when needed. Hope that makes sense :)

    One thing that helped for my skin and made it glow was maintaining a good skincare regimen. I keep my skin moisturized by drinking enough water every day. I cleanse my face twice a day, in the morning and at night. I use the very gentle riceberry face wash only. After washing, I apply rice berry vitamin c face serum by litleextttra. When I move outside, I always apply sunscreen. Just doing these things made a big difference in just 3 months. I hope this can help someone else who wants to improve their skin texture.

      SC gives you more nutrients but AOS gives you a higher amount of vit c. Long term there probs isn't going to be a huge amount of difference so I'd say go for whichever you like the feel of more.

    Quick question: Since the skin absorbs everything and then it goes through the liver, does applying vit C to the skin has similar systematic effect on the whole body as eating lemons for example?

    I keep a diy ascorbic acid solution stored in the refrigerator between uses. I can use up a four oz bottle and it never shows visible signs of oxidation. I also like to add a plant extract, like asiatica centella, rosemary, or green tea. The solution is easy to make and still acidic so it absorbs into my skin. I may try licorice extract in the future.
    I may experiment with other products, but I always go back to my vitamin c herbal toner because it is cheap to make yet effective.

      @@nellie... All supplies are available on Amazon, and the supplies will pay for themselves after several bottles, versus buying pre-made vitamin c serums.
      Buy a four oz dropper bottle, a mini funnel, measuring spoons, cosmetic grade ascorbic acid, plant extract using glycerin as a solvent and with no extra ingredients (centella asiatica and/or green tea are good options), and ph test strips of an appropriate ph measuring range. The finished solution should have an approximate ph of 3.5 to enable skin absorption. An optional purchase are dessicant packets to keep in your vitamin c bag or container to keep it dry.
      I like to use four teaspoons of ascorbic acid per four oz bottle of tap water, and a couple droppers of plant extract or maybe more.
      You can use less vitamin c if your skin is not acclimated to acids, but over 20% may be too harsh and not result in further skin benefits. You can skip the plant extract, but you will then need to adjust the ph up a little using a matchstick head sized amount of baking soda, as the ph will be too low without the plant extract to buffer the vitamin c. You can perfect the recipe to your specific skin care needs. My skin is used to harsh exfoliating acids like glycolic acid, so I can go crazy with the ascorbic acid without burning my face off.
      I keep the finished solution in the fridge to keep it from oxidizing, so I recommend that you do the same. I apply the solution with cotton rounds before any other products. Just let it dry into the skin before layering your products. I use my toner in the morning before I go out, as the ascorbic acid helps to minimize uv induced inflammation in your skin should any uv bypass your sunscreen.
      Use your retinoids at night and ascorbic acid during the day, as they may be less effective after mixing with an acid, and some retinoids break down in the presence of uv radiation anyway.
      I use my vitamin c toner most days, unless I decide to use an exfoliating acid instead. My skin has gotten noticeably brighter, and I any age spots I have are practically invisible. Since the solution is cheap to make, I also put it on my hands.

    Sorry I'm confused. So the first ingredient in Revision Vitamin C is water but it's not unstable because it's oil soluble and can withstand water. Does that make oil-soluble forms of vitamin c intrinsically better (genuine question/i don't know). So when you use a form of vitamin c that is water soluble and is in a water formula like Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate or L-Ascorbic acid what happens? I have a product that is clear in the dropper so it doesn't look oxidized to me and I've had it at least a month. Do you mean over time oil-soluble or waterless formulas are not going to oxidize where as water formulas eventually will?

    • @Dr_Abs
      @Dr_Abs  Год назад +1

      There's no 'better' or 'worse' here, it's something that needs to be decided upon based on the individual patient and their needs. Generally speaking I'd say ethyl vitamin C and THD asorbate are better than LAA but that's just my personal experience. Different docs may have a different opinion on that specifically. Oxidisable formulas have that likelihood that they will oxidise and that will never go away. It doesn't mean it's bad though - if it's kept in small containers that are blacked out and the consumer uses it properly, it will work fine. But not everyone does that so that's when it becomes individual-dependent instead of a generalised rule.
