Fake women: I got to know so many women in the area that I thought were genuine, but they ended up hanging out with me to get a man. I used to be very social and I knew a lot of people and attended business mixers and my so called friends would hang out with me just to get a man, then I would not hear from them anymore. SMH Competitive women: They often questioned my style choice, especially my natural hair. One told me that my hair always looked unkempt. That was before the Natural movement got popular. I dress humbly and I like ethnic clothes with a lot of color when I dress up. I got a lot of side eye looks from other women. They were also crabs in a barrel. They tried to use me to Social Climb, but when they got an opportunity that I was not privy to, the claws came out. I was waaaay too free hearted with people that only wanted to use me. Lesson learned. Materialistic women: They were always bragging about the money they made at work or through a side hustle. In the end we were all paid well under 70k. Its was plenty to live on if one was modest and did not waste money on unnecessary things. I have always been practical. I don't buy clothes and shoes with high price tags like they did. Double tongue: A lot of the people in the ATL area (not all) said one thing and meant another. I spent a majority of the time trying to interpret what they were saying and they were speaking ENGLISH! For example, "We got to got to get together" was just a figure of speech. they really didn't want to hang out, it was just a saying, but I took it at face value. I thought they actually wanted to hang out, so I would follow up with them and they would not return my calls, emails, or texts. It tool a while, but i eventually learned. A bunch of the men were also double tongued. They would say they were not interested in you, but when you move on with another guy, they will double back and say that they have always wanted to be with you....etc. Very confusing. The married men are Single/Married due to all of the options and the thirsty women available. I was with a man that had a chronic cheating problem. He would apologize, then get caught with 3 other side relationships (or I was the side perhaps). It was such a confusing roller coaster ride. Lazy married men (and predators): A lot of the men in the ATL area look for stable women to prey upon so that they don't have to work, or work hard. Some say that a women with her own car and house does not need anything, but other men look for those women to move in with and use. It is hard to know until they get into your house, quit their job, then they sit at home for years while their woman/wife is out working. The majority of the time the men are at home chatting with women online or setting up lunch and dinner dates. The wife or woman they they live with is only their sponsor. I moved away going on 2 years ago and am happy to be away from all of that foolishness. There were good parts of Georgia, but not enough to make me want to move back ever!
Love the curtains, I just gave mine away a few years ago because I sold my house. I am sorry that you see this as a mistake. Maybe things will start looking up soon! I know a lot of mature people I know have found love on those mature dating sites. I met my husband almost twenty years ago on a dating site which was in the newspaper. "You look like you don't need anything" is a statement based on comparison to the other women in the population that HE IS use dating or has the belief that materialistic things makes for a good women. You know those same women, you describe in your video. Those that are super concerned about opulence. It doesn't mean anything is wrong with you, when statements like these are made it says more about the individual and less about you. Keep your head up. A matter of fact your hair suits your face. Go to the barbie shop and have those men to shape up your edges around the sides and back of your head. That wouldn't cost much. Have them to go cut it into a style. Those brothers could hook you up for a small price. Not all men are down with the weave thing. You can add some highlights to it. Give it some reddish color. I think it will match your complexion. You can wear some eyeshadow and some brown-red lipstick or dark red. Long earrings or hoop, shouldn't cost much. A necklace, shouldn't cost much. I see that you do get your eyebrows plucked. You can trace it over with an eyeliner pencil. You can buy mascara, bring out your eyelashes a little. You can wear powder makeup or liquid. Smooth it on with your hands and even it out. You can buy all these things at the dollar store, believe it. It doesn't take much to stand out, not for you anyway. You can buy some nice jeans at Walmart and some nice heels. I brought a dress for five dollars at the dollar store and the young girls were raving over how I looked. The dollar store and Walmart have nice things. Try it! Guarantee you like it.
IT MEANS YOU LOOK COMFORTABLE-----THEY WON'T HAVE TO GIVE YOU NOTHING---NO REQUIREMENTS--YOU MIGHT SETTLE FOR ANYBODY......IT'S INSULTING IN A NICE NASTY WAY.
I'd guess it has to do with the choice by some people to pursue relationships with others that they identify as having an 'external locus of identity' a relationship that would be reinforced with constant approval, and in the absence of that approval causes a disastrous loss of identity one of the genders has this external locus conditioned by cultural norms in a very roundabout way, it's a compliment to not be the woman this man is looking for
I think it's probably a compliment. You look nurturing and welcoming the way you were with your ex and they can probably sense that so they think you're married and taken.
When they say you look like you don't need anything or you look like you're marry, it pretty much means that they view you as a very well put together woman who they can't get over on, they view you as a goddess, they see you as a woman who respects herself and others, you seem to take care of yourself without the help of a man, independent, you don't need a man to feel validated, or beautiful, the no good men want a woman to want them, you're too much of hard work if you know what I mean.
