This has always been my favorite Disney movie, and it bugs me that it's not as celebrated as much as the other classics.
LILO & Stitch is actually fairly popular tho. That’s a given.
Me too
Actually it’s pretty popular movie
Me too
It's popular in the UK
I was lucky enough to be a kupuna dancer with Kumu Mark when they were putting Lilo & Stitch together. They came with the animators to watch and draw our wahine dancers. They put the
drawings together in a diarama which we got to see. Seeing our dancers animated was thrilling. The chant was Kalakaua He Inoa, a name chant for Kalakaua which is very traditional and very
old. The chant over the credits was dedicated to Queen Liliuokalani. Kumu composed a new chant melody for each. Kumu also composed Hawaiian Roller Coaster ride, though it is credited to
Alan Sylvestri. I know they paid for the rights. We were all so proud of what Kumu was able to do to gift the Hawaiian people their legacy in the chants. It is still a wonderful film. Kids learn the
dances because they are so clear in the animation. They love this movie. They see people who look like them. And talk like them.
And I'm guessing you some reservations about a live-action Lilo & stitch huh?
Stitch is beloved by so many people. This may be the one that if they do Lilo & stitch like they did Lion King it might finally be the end of these horrid live action Disney movies.
I seriously doubt they're going to show any even half of the respect that they did with the original Lilo & stitch.
But it must have been fun working as a dancer 😅
I'm so blessed to have grown up with this movie and not the frozen craziness. I'm 21 and I still love this movie
Same i think this movie was my first introduction to hawaii
@@user-hs7op9ds6u I've always been interested in the outcast movies of disney such as Hunchback Lilo and Stitch Atlantis Treasure Planet. Oliver n company and Balto to name a few i wasnt much of a hercules fan cause i never really saw it as a kid but i absolutely adore it now i think the only princesses type movies i liked were Beauty and the Beast Mulan and Little Mermaid oh and Pocahantas
Lol screw off with that. Frozen is still a good movie.
@@Gadget-Walkmen but it's not as strong as the older movies
@@ilovelegos2000 I know but it’s still overall a good film.
I am 25 now but I still love Lilo & Stitch. It was really deep and l still cry tears because of it. Some scenes make me happy and some sad. The story sucks me right in. I am currently bying my fav movies and Lilo & Stitch is on the top 10

Never really realized the amount of work put into this movie. The directors really know their stuff
Oh yeah they had drawings back in 1985 they were wanting they were wanting to do this for a while

Today is the 15th anniversary of Lilo and Stitch! It's literally my favorite Disney movie of all time! :D
Same, this is probably my FAVOURITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME !!! You can't imagine how much I love this movie !!!
I REALLY enjoyed this “making of” documentary (and I’ve watched A LOT of Disney documentaries...) not only because this happens to be one of my favorite Disney films, but ALSO because the first part is JUST the staff with no annoying celebrity commentary. 👍🏼👍🏼
Kevin McDonald recording his lines for Pleakely was the reason I enjoy watching this behind the scenes story because it’s funny!
What a movie. It's like the filmakers were making their own frankenstein monster, hidden away from the prying eyes of the higher ups. It was discovered, but by then the creature had been filled with life and mischief and goofiness. It broke free and spread its charm and chaos throughout earth.
Just like Jumba creating Stitch.
Honestly, though. This was the perfect way to make this film,
And the perfect character to get filmed this way.
15:26 makes me cry just HEARING it!
Same !!!
Sean Rhead AND THAT is why Alan Anthony Silvestri is the greatest composer in the WORLD.
My brother and I had this movie on dvd wayy back when. We were abroad for my dads job and my brother would constantly rewind the icecream guy moments he found soo funny but drove me insanee. It’s one of my favourite movies ever holds alot of childhood memories
This movie is not just my daughters favorite movie. It's something special for her and watching this I can see why.
Cool
This is my favorite Disney movie and we named our cat Ohana. When she died at 17 to honor her we named our new kittens Lilo and Makoa.
The dance at the end gave me chills of how good this all looks
Alan Silvestri is a two-time Emmy Award-winning composer. He won 2 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) for Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey: Standing Up in the Milky Way and Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music for Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.
I want Disney to bring back the flat animation with stories like this not some weird 3D crap although sometimes it’s ok like Moana was good
LMAO hell no 3D animation isn’t “weird” or “crap” either. Most of the time it’s fantastic!
@@Gadget-Walkmen 3D is generic AF
@@aztronomy7457 LOL Spoken like someone who doesn't know what they're saying at all. NONE of 3D animated movies are "gEnErIC aF" it's just a medium to use animation in, that's all!
@@Gadget-Walkmen they’re generic because I can’t tell a Disney 3d animation apart from a dreamworks or anything else. Disneys 2D animation used to set them apart. It was so good you knew instantly it was Disney
@@aztronomy7457 LOL What? What you're saying is just dishonest because of how untrue it is because it's just YOUR OWN fault for not seeing when there's CLEARLY different 3D artstyle for movies and shows.
It's not "geNErIC", it just has a similar artstyle due to the fact it's a family friendly film.
There are NUMEROUS 3D movies and shows that don't look ANYTHING alike such as Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, The Adventures of Tintin, The Incredibles, The Peanuts movie, The Little Prince, Del Toro's Pinocchio ALL look entirely different from one another despite them all being in 3D.
ALOT of Disney movies had the same artstyle within a 2D framework because it's following the typical DISNEY artstyle for the characters because, you know, it's not hard to understand.
Princess and the Frog, The Little Mermaid, The Black Cauldron, Anatansia, Beauty and the Beast, Pochanatas, Aladdin etc ALL overall look the same even when they're 2D because they're having the signature Disney artstyle. Same thing with their 3D movies when they DO have the same artstyle.
Dreamworks tends to have similar artstyle at times EXCEPT when they are clearly doing something different like Shrek and The Bad Guys which is COMPLETELY different looking from Disney. Same thing with Pixar as well as they're OWNED by Disney.
Lilo & Stitch are one of those few 2D disney movies that looks VERY different due to the fact it's based off of Chris Sanders' art-style and he wanted the movie to have a different look. That should be obvious. Most Disney movies don't AT ALL look like Lilo & Stitch.
Just like how most don't look like Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Emperor's New Groove, Treasure Planet as they're ALL trying to be uniquely distinct from one another even WITHIN 2D. Same logic applies to 3D movies when they break apart.
The movies that look the same are just following similar artstyles, NOT just because it's 3D at all. Same thing can be applies to 2D animated movies and shows as ALOT of anime shows have a similar artstyle to them.
It's just YOUR fault for not being to tell the difference when they clearly ARE different but NONE of them are "gEnERIc" lol just no.

Is there the making of the series too, because I'd like to see them saying about Stitchie fall for Angel and who created both Stitchie and Angel?

The idea of the Music by the Legendy Elvis Presley for to Unite of 25th Anniversary of his Death on August 16th 2002 just 2 Months after the Film's Release in The America and Worldwide!!
any one else get creeped out hearing Lilos voice coming out of the little voice actress .... It was so funny they didn't match in my head I thought she was lip syncing at first lmao
OH AND SAME for the old lady to !!
I’m
Creeped out by Lilos actress because she is Samara😂
I add the 2002 disney animated feature film lilo and stitch
If they make a live action movie of Lilo and stitch I want Michael Keaton to be in that movie as beetlejuice
Is it just me or is Chris Sanders look so much like Christoph Waltz?
I’ve watched LILO and Stitch loads of times and I thought that Hamsterviel was the funniest villain out of Captain Gantu and Hamsterviel when I watched the film Gantu wasn’t very funny like Hamsterviel was
also do you know that tia carere was considered for the voice of mulan i think its better that the went with ming na wen but it could of worked
did he just draw on a computer screen with a marker
if i had to pick kind of a flaw with this film that i love i would of liked to have seen interaction between lilo nani and their parents before they died get to know them as people and everything so i could feel more sad about their deaths maybe thats something the live action could correct but david ogden stiers is hard to replace
If they let us meet Lilo & Noni's you run the risk of they not being what we expect. If they never show how they sound or act, that mystery forces us to imagine. The audience's imagination is better than risking disappointment.
The animation and music was mostly done in 2001
why is stitch blue instead of green ?
Lilo And Stitch Live action 🎬 💙 🙌 👌 😍 👏 2024 New Disney Plus ➕️ ✨️ ♥️ 💙 😀 💖
Won’t have the same vibe but willing to try
Pls...you can take inspiration from Arcane and Legacies second half of season 4...and compare the different tribes across the world to the makings of the perfect weapon
It was a woman who played the end song? 😮😳 mind blown!!
Why the heck do they have a Richard Nixon poster in their office?
something's going on ????
I wonder if Chris also did the little mermaid and Aladdin
He did work for the lion king
Does Sanders got such unhealthy obsession towards Elvis? I’d like to think he did
Do you think uncle jesse did as well?
a set up maybe ????
Theyre so loving and respectful of the Hawaiian culture and Lilo and Stitch and their Ohana.
Its such a shame they have to sour their rep by making remakes of HTTYD and i think lilo and stitch asp
But the old adage is die young a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villian.

Imagine if this was made at this time there are people that'll demand why the makers choose a voice artist who's not hawaiian/kanaka.
So I guess the theme was family or Stitch didn't know where he belonged. But then he was destroying everything in sight for some reason. I guess he was programmed to destroy stuff. I don't recall exactly why he was programmed to destroy stuff. Perhaps they were going to use him as a weapon against other aliens. That wasn't clear to me. It may have been explained in the movie, but its been awhile since I last saw it. Anyway, so Jumba created him (known in the movie as Experiment 626). Now, like i said, it seems that he was programmed to destroy stuff and be some sort of fierce weapon (maybe when the aliens fight other aliens?) Moving on. So there's this whole thing that the only thing he doesn't like is water for whatever reason. That reason was never explained, but it did set up the Hawaii joke and Lilo spraying him with a squirt gun. So he lands in Hawaii. For this really destructive alien, he wasn't particularly violent. He was mostly was up to hijinks but nothing really that bad. So the sister is taking care of Lilo because we later find out fhat her parents died in some car accident. I don't know why it was decided to have the parents be dead, but hey, why not? Since the parents are dead, the sister is working really hard to support them and is not doing a great job because of Stitch getting her in trouble. There's a guy named Cobra Bubbles who is not happy about the situation. I don't recall why his name is so strange and why he's so angry.
There's an odd scene where Lilo is reading a book "The Ugly Duckling" to Stitch. The duck is abandoned because he's ugly I'm guessing. I'm not really sure why. But then Stitch decides to take off for some reason. Lilo knows why he destroys stuff but i forgot the reason. So Stitch is basically destroying stuff, but then starts liking being with Lilo, Nani and David although that wasn't really given much time in the movie. So he somehow relates to The Ugly Duckling but that doesnt make much sense because the Ugly Duckling is abandoned and Lilo, Nani and David don't abandon Stitch. In fact, its Stitch who decides to leave and he's abruptly changed into this very sensitive and sentimental alien. But anyway, he takes off but that upsets Lilo because she likes Stitch. But he's hell bent on getting out of there with The Ugly Duckling book. Then he has a nervous breakdown while reading the book on his own later. He feels lost?
The head lady alien and some big guy are fed up that Jumba hasn't killed Stitch yet. I'm not sure why he is trying to kill Stitch but he is. At the end there are lot of quick cuts and alien pistols being shot off. It was all very confusing and hard to follow. Oh yeah, Stitch likes Elvis music so there's that.
Everything ends with some montage of them spending time together in the future.
I felt like the director had some idea for a movie where a child meets an alien, sort of like E.T., but there was no real clear direction or message or point and it felt like they should have been more clear as to what the movie is about way before even starting on storyboards or rough animation.
What Kind of Shit is That.
Daveigh looks cute and Tia looks overrated
Her hair was SO long back then
