    Today I want to share with you how to go gluten free and the right kinds of cooking flours to consume. Most people today use white or wheat flour and don’t know about the multiple side effects they cause.
    There are all-natural, great-tasting flours that you can substitute with. Bob’s Red Mill Company and Sprouted Flour Company are both great alternatives you can use. Coconut flour is high in fiber, healthy fats, helps you lose weight, boosts your metabolism, and is another great replacement flour to consume. A general, gluten-free, Bob’s Red Mill flour is a great substitute because it’s made with chickpea from garbanzo bean flour, sorghum flour, and potato starch. This flour has good texture and one cup of this flour is equal to one cup of regular white flour. Gluten-free, sprouted yellow corn flower is another great flour to use with cooking because the flour is soaked, which kills off phytic acid, allowing you to absorb vitamins and minerals more easily. This flour is also good for cooking cornbread. Organic spelt flour is a flour I recommend because it is sprouted and easy to cook with. Additionally, gluten-free sprouted oat flour is great for chocolate chip raisin oatmeal cookies, which taste amazing, but it’s also easy to digest. Brown rice flour from Bob’s Red Mill Company is a healthy substitute which is non-allergenic for a lot of people and can be digested well. Lastly, finely ground almond meal flour is a great flour to use when cooking because almonds are loaded with fiber, L-arginine, healthy fats, and can be used for a lot of different kinds of recipes. These seven natural, gluten-free substitute flours are great replacements and you won’t deal with the side effects of white and wheat flours! You can find these flours at most grocery stores or on Amazon. For more on how to enjoy a gluten-sensitive diet, check out this article: draxe.com/glute...

    Corn was the first to became GMO, most people today don't use corn, because it's hard to find it organic.

    Almond flour is awesome and tastes like heaven, but soooo costly! He obviously can afford it. I’ve had Celiac Disease and have been GF for 23 yrs now. I use a lot of brown rice and oatmeal flour (oat flour). I don’t know who this guy is, I assume he’s no MD, but he was right about the nutritional info. I’m an RN with a Master’s in public health and always use nutritional diets for my own patients. Will see what else he has. Thx.

    I love using spelt flour in baking. It has less gluten than wheat and is apparently easier to digest. I wouldn’t use rice flour because of the big issue of Arsenic in rice (and brown rice is worse than white because the husk retains the arsenic). almond flour is amazing in baking. I’ll be trying to use buckwheat, coconut, millet and amaranth (the latter two Grains I’ll grind myself).

    I'm wondering if the brown rice, or even white rice flours turn to sugar or are considered high on the glycemic index? Any information on this? If the brown rice were to be combined with say quinoa or chickpea flour, or coconut flour, or maybe a blend of several, would this reduce the glycemic load? If you could do a video about flour blends that would be so helpful. Thanks! 👋

    • @HickoryDickory86
      @HickoryDickory86 9 лет назад +6

      Carol Brown Why would you think that? There a countless organic corn products on the market today, and for any product to be certified organic it has to be non-GMO by necessity as GMOs are not allowable in the National Organic Program. And even if you're not looking specifically for organic corn, you can look for the "Non-GMO Project Verified" label and still find plenty of non-GMO corn products.

    as a coeliac i can confirm spelt is definitely not gluten free and oats contain avenin which 1 in 5 of those diagnosed with coeliac disease will react to. I'm not to fussed about the oat flour as some can handle it but you should not be telling people to use spelt flour as gluten free flour

I am so confused with too many videos from too many health experts about what not to eat and what to eat if one wants to go gluten free. You mentioned that we can replace wheat and white flour with Sprouted and Spelt flour and rice flour apart from the others but I am hearing also that Spelt and rice should not be in a gluten free diet. Please confirm. Appreciate your help!

    I read that any kind of flour substitute alone is not sufficient as equal flour substitute - it is supposed to be mixed with another flour substitute in order to give the mix the characteristics of white flour. Is it true or it is enough to use one flour? e.g. just coconut flour will be good for tortillas, cakes and also for any kind of other baking that the white flour is used? It will react to yeast in the same way the white flour does?

    • @brandonfredenburg8343
      @brandonfredenburg8343 6 лет назад +9

      Mekratrig, To say Dr. Axe is not a doctor of modern Western medicine is true, but fairness requires more to be said in this context.
      Many are unaware that most practitioners trained in Western medicine receive less than 3 weeks’ instruction on human nutrition and its effects during 8 years of schooling. For instance, they learn symptoms of, say, migraine headaches, or arthritis, or fatigue, but they are not taught how to treat these problems in ways that use prescribed dietary changes instead of pharmaceuticals. With diet changes, these conditions can be improved substantially or eliminated, but with pharmaceuticals, they persist (by design).
      For thousands of years, medical practitioners have been trained in the pain relieving and curative properties of preparations from minerals, plants, insects, and animal organs. Today’s pharmaceuticals prescribed by “medical” doctors come from the same age-old ingredients and understandings, but with a modern twist: the basic ingredients are now rarely mixed to effect permanent or inexpensive relief.
      To say Dr. Axe isn’t a medical doctor is not exactly true. His practice of medicine stays closer to nature and the mortar and pestle than to the laboratory and polluting pharmaceutical manufacturing plants.

      I had similar experiences with it. Coconut flour doesn't rise and tastes really off making my baked goods taste strange. I was only able to use mine up by mixing it with regular flour. Whatever you do, definitely do not use coconut flour for banana bread; mine was inedible.

      @@staykind8185 I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN! I feel the same way about chickpea flour, I can make hummus from dry or can beans and i love it, But when i use the chickpea flour to make anything I HATE THE TASTE OF IT! I was using oats and grinding it down into a flour i like the taste and i never had a problem with it, Now i hear VITAL WHEAT GLUTEN IS NOT GOOD FOR YOU! Almost every food is bad for you and i just started eating this way, It makes you feel like why bother.

    I can't handle ANYTHING that tastes sweet. YUK! So I won't be using any flour that tastes sweet. I see people eating all sorts of crazy things like cookies, cakes and other sweets that should not be eating at all. Take a lesson from the cave man and don't eat that crap. Most of the flours for gluten sensitive people have too many carbohydrates so I use almond and other nut and seed flours.
