I mean, there's a difference between being able to hammer out a story over a period of weeks with a bunch of assistants vs telling a story in one go in the moment.
I'm shocked that Glenn and Charlie didn't pick up the joke about 'Mac' making his own sound effects! That is top tier repeated joke throughout the show for me! It is such a fun quirk of the character.
Exactly. It's weird how he never picked up on it it's the first thing most people realized which is what makes it hilarious. It's something a kid will do.
They knew he was making the sound, just didnt realize he was doing it as a "whooshing/wind" sound effect to the moves instead of him just exhaling like a fighter would with each punch, just exaggerated
It made it feel like they're all late. Which is hilarous of course if you've watched so far. Like each podcast they somehow keep getting worse and worse at setting it all up and starting it. If this was YMH, they'd bury the joke in the sand by starting the podcast and just letting us stare at a wall for five minutes before someone finally jogs in, "We're here, oh shit, they already started. We're here!"
Kudos to Meg for steering the chaos without ever shutting it down. She really gets these guys, and is such a natural and enjoyable addition to the retrospective, as well as the back-and-forth.

Not sure if he was defending her or just being quite obviously annoyed with just a really dumb comment. I don't necessarily think Meg needed defending here. Not to say they don't all back each other up constantly that's what friendship is. Someone says something and you back it up. I mean, you don't think of it that way but on some level that's what it is, the conversations between these individuals stand on pillars of friendship. I mean if they feel like good friends with moments you see deeply into the show it must be that much more sentimental in real life.

I've been rewatching and relistening to some of the older ones, and it's just not the same until Meg starts being a key part of it, she's the perfect bridge between the Gang and us creeps.
The fact that Glenn and Charlie didn't realize that Rob was making those noises as sound effects is great, I feel like it was so obvious the first time that it was the character Mac pretending to make sound effects for himself.
They knew he did it and knew he did it for comedic purposes. They didn't know the origin of the sound tho (wind whipping etc) and thought he was mimicking pro fighters etc.

I'm genuinely surprised all of them thought Mac's karate sound effects were a breathing technique or something. I always knew what he was going for and him doing the sounds himself with his mouth is a large part of what makes those moments so funny to me.
It sounds like Rob did a thorough ocular patdown of the guy in the Jeep before he considered getting involved. A phrase I will be referencing for the rest of my life, thanks to Always Sunny :)
As the podcast goes on, my respect for Glenn grows for his great taste in music. Rocking the Sonic Youth shirt, and making the New York Dolls reference, very nice!

As a true “creep” I have watched all the episodes and this one had me in stitches . From Rob coming in hot with the vocabulary to the episode it self. Great work Meg!
Man this was a super funny episode of the podcast. Charlie and Glenn's additions to Rob's story in the beginning was some A+ riffing, and Megan was on FIRE with her one-liners. In terms of thoughts on the new structure, I really like the idea of Megan trying to introduce structured bits and the guys just running with it in whatever direction works. Structuring the riffing is good, reigning it in would not be.
This show ain't the same without Meg. It's really nice to see that she's genuinely close enough to these guys who've been together 20 years to get right in the middle of it.
I've never heard anyone say detritus this much in my entire life...and I am here for it. I love that they just vibe with each other and their chemistry is so good that even if the show didn't exist I'd still be intrigued by a podcast hosted by Rob Justice and the Gang

The curb is high because the front of the bar used to be a warehouse and it's a loading dock so trucks can back up to it and be level with the curb. It's also a somewhat popular skate spot, I believe Rodney Mullen did some tricks off it.

How they handled the critic is hilarious but I always wondered what would happen if someone like Jon Taffer came along and wanted to fix up Paddy's Pub. If they could actually get him to do an episode parodying Bar Rescue with the gang I think that would have great potential

I've always been a little jealous of feet people. They're so into this thing, it's not considered particularly weird as far as kinks go, and it's _super easy_ to indulge in. People get their feet out all over the place! I've watched every episode multiple times and I never noticed the absurdly high curb. I have no idea how I never noticed the effort they have to put in to step over it every time.
I love Megan and I love her on this podcast but _also_ I can imagine her running her own Sunny podcast 51:30. Her perspective of being a fan then working on the show is really cool (and maybe a dream come true for some of us...).

I'm genuinely surprised all of them thought Mac's karate sound effects were a breathing technique or something. I always knew what he was going for and him doing the sounds himself with his mouth is a large part of what makes those moments so funny to me.

As a true “creep” I have watched all the episodes and this one had me in stitches . From Rob coming in hot with the vocabulary to the episode it self. Great work Meg!
Man this was a super funny episode of the podcast. Charlie and Glenn's additions to Rob's story in the beginning was some A+ riffing, and Megan was on FIRE with her one-liners. In terms of thoughts on the new structure, I really like the idea of Megan trying to introduce structured bits and the guys just running with it in whatever direction works. Structuring the riffing is good, reigning it in would not be.
This show ain't the same without Meg. It's really nice to see that she's genuinely close enough to these guys who've been together 20 years to get right in the middle of it.

I've always been a little jealous of feet people. They're so into this thing, it's not considered particularly weird as far as kinks go, and it's _super easy_ to indulge in. People get their feet out all over the place! My favorite part of this episode is when Dennis and Dee lose their shit and start yelling at Mac. I love it when Dennis and Dee team up to verbally bash someone. They're so good at it.
