I just got a binder, divided into all teams and started from there. Each team now has an average of 6 binders. I try and place card for each player together. Get cards from Walmart when available but buy most cards off of eBay, factory sets, team sets, patch and autograph cards, inserts and alike. Since I’m now taking care of 90 year old father with dementia, card collecting really is a great STRESS reliever for me 👍

I’m a player completist collector. I’m also a rookie card collector, all time greats collector, team collector, 90’s insert collector, I like to dabble in vintage, I’m a set collector as a matter of fact I was able to complete the 1959 Topps baseball set. I also enjoy pre war vintage. I would say overall I’m a baseball card junkie collector.

I'm a team collector, mostly. Detroit teams. I've primarily focused my attention on base RC, mostly because my budget isn't anywhere near high enough for big parallels or numbered or auto/patch cards or whatever. I want to get RC of the best, most memorable, Detroit players ever as well as young potential Detroit stars (Cade, Seider, Tork, etc). While RC of guys like Ty Cobb and Gordie Howe may forever be out of my financial reach, a collection of RC among the other ~95% of the best Detroit players is extremely doable. I've made a lot of progress toward that, according to my spreadsheet haha.
I also have a mini-PC of what I call "Cursed Detroit" or "Detroit Legends." Great, if not Hall of Fame, players who made a brief stop in Detroit, likely toward the end of their careers. Pistons legend Allen Iverson is the best known example. I'm working on getting base cards of them in their Detroit uniforms. It's really fun and comical!
I'll absolutely look into buying product or picking up non-Detroit cards. Detroit is just a priority.

I'm a Detroit collector too. Live in Metro Detroit area. Got a couple of BGS 9 Cabrera's, 10 Graded Kaline cards, Trammell, Morris, Whitaker Graded, 68 Topps Team Card Graded. BARRY 8.5 BGS, Dumars SGC 7, etc.. Picked up a lot before the Pandemic, prices were really affordable. Now, not so much. Prices have come down some, but not that friendly.

I collect players who are first ballot true HOF, all time greats. That includes rookie cards, patch autos, vintage. If you aren’t all time great, I don’t collect the player. Possible future all time greats playing right now include Verlander, Pujols, Kershaw, Trout ,Cabrera, Betts, and Judge.

I’m a player collector. I’m only 12 so I can’t afford a lot of cards. I have maybe 200 Xander Bogaerts cards though. I have one graded card and one autograph, and maybe 10 rookie cards. The rest are random base cards from throughout Xanders career.

Funny he mentions Kruk. In 2021 I picked up a few of his auto cards because I always enjoyed watching him play and love his personality. Not worth much but still enjoy having them in the collection. I collect just Mattingly predominately, but have been trying to snatch up some rookies of my other past fav players, some HOF rookies psa graded, and recently started doing a Schmidt base Topps card PSA collection. Every once in awhile I will pick up something 100 or so years old just because I think it is cool to own something that old that could have easily been tossed.

I am in my early 50s. I started back in the late 70s through the early 90s along with my Dad. I ended up pretty much stopping at that point. We have cards going all the way back to the 40s. We focused on Yankees as that was our team. I just recently started to dabble again. Learning about the grading process and deciding to what I want to keep in my own personal collection and what I want to start selling to fund the hobby and add cards to my personal collection

My goal with collecting is to get 4-5 major cards for each player I enjoy watching or have been a fan of in the past. These players are the ones on a HOF path and/or are already in. I feel like this spreads the wealth around and doesn't behold too much of my finances to one player. The player I have the most invested in is Juan Soto, but I've primarily focused on Pujols, Ichiro, Trout, Betts, Harper, Arenado, Machado, Kershaw, Jose Ramirez, and others from that era. I also love buying Devers and Yordan as I think they are criminally undervalued. Biggest bust for me? Bo Bichette. Went all in after last season and got burned pretty badly. Won't ever invest that much in an unproven player ever again. Great video Scottie!

Braves team set collector off and on buying my first pack of cards in 1958. Have 99% of all Topps Braves cards from 1955 to present day. Also collect all the Allen & Ginter, Heritage and Gypsy Queen sets. My thing is using colored card stock in my binders for framing tobacco cards as well as backgrounds for regular size cards. I have never obtained a card with the idea of an investment . It's all about the art and design of the cards that makes it all a pleasure for me.

Currently working on Larry Walker. Just picked up an Auto of his. In 1993 I really started collecting the Rockies. Closest MLB team to go see. The Blake street bombers such as Castilla, Galarraga, Burks, Walker and Bichette. Looking to pick up a nice Todd Helton rookie also. Before the Rockies and even now it has also been Cal Ripken. Awesome to see Tanner - had him do a couple of custom 1of1's - a couple gypsy queen cards of my family with the Phillies Phanatic and a custom Aaron Nola auto (with mlb authentic sticker) baseball a "stiches" card. Again 1/1 - and yes Tanner, I still have it. Cool stuff. I'm a team collector - but I'm cheap so nothing expensive. Have never paid more than $100 for a card.

I'm a player collector who, looking at my past purchasing history, tends to gravitate towards players who are quietly on the rise. I like buying their cards because they aren't overhyped (like a Wander Franco or Bobby Witt type) and thus still very cheap to pick up. My past success includes picking up DeGrom cards early on (like around 2018). Currently, Andres Gimenez seems to be another one of those players today who appears to fall along those same lines (blossoming potential superstar with currently no hype). Which is why I've been picking several of his key cards for super cheap. Dude's the real deal!

    I collect 3 different ways.
Number 1, I collect sets. If I get one card that I really like, I now have a new set to collect. So it can get pretty pricey there. But if I have a full set of cards, I really enjoy showing it off to my few buddies who actually enjoy the hobby. I am currently really in love with the panini prizm UFC cards and the Topps chrome baseball cards. Those are the sets I've been after the most.
    2. Certain players. There are a variety of different players from different sports that I really really like. I just picked up an Earl Campbell rookie auto. I also really love going after guys like Craig biggio, Jose altuve, Hakeem olajuwon... Houston team guys.
I also collect certain mma fighters that I really like. I love auto hunting.
    3. I recently started hunting team championship autos.
I am almost done with the 2017 astros. Looking for the 94 and 95 championship rockets cards.
The difficult part of this is finding certain players autographs. Especially ones where the player on the card is wearing the team uniform that I'm collecting.
Right now, a josh reddick autograph ASTROS card is impossible to find anywhere. I can find a million of his autos with Boston and Oakland, but none of him on the Astros. I still love hunting for it. That's part of the fun.
As far as the era of cards I collect, they're mostly modern baseball and all modern ufc. That being said, I love the history of the vintage stuff too.
My all time favorite card is a very old Hank Aaron auto that my dad gave me. You couldn't offer me enough money to sell it.
Long winded post. Sorry y'all lol

I also save my duplicates that are atleast worth a $1 for another collection. My 3rd collection is my duplicates of Ken Griffey Jr get added to my Jr collection right now I'm at 4 because I'm restarting it. I had over 2000 different jrs 8 years ago and had to sell them. Graded topps base rookie card and/or First cardinals base topps card of my favorite players (Ozzie Smith, Willie McGee, Yadier Molina, Nolan Arenado)
Graded topps base rookie of Pujols and bowman rookie of Musial
Graded rookie cards of my all time favorite non-baseball players (Isaac Bruce, Kurt Warner, Travis Kelce, Al MacInnis)
