This series did the best job of portraying Batman's Rogues Gallery in any medium. Each was distinct and had their own specific motivations. Their Mister Freeze story and character arc is legendary! Every facet of this show is top tier, but their not-so-secret weapon was Andrea Romano who did the voice casting and direction! To this day, probably the BEST animated series of all time!
Christmas with the joker is by far my favorite episode out of all of it. I love how he breaks out of Arkham asylum just to throw a pie in Batman's face and be like. I just want to see you for Christmas bro and then let's everyone take him back into Arkham and Batman at the end goes. It is a wonderful life because the whole thing is he's never seen a wonderful life and Robin's trying to get him to watch it and he only watches it because of what happens with the joker. It's amazing! I remember that from like forever ago
Because of Kevin and Mark..... When I read comics I can only hear their voices in my head when I read. There are many Batmans and Jokers.... But Conroy and Hamill are Batman and Joker to me. I respect Mark Hamill for retiring as The Joker because Kevin Conroy passed away.
Yes, please make a video about the voice cast of BTAS! 🙏🏾 BTW, in the episode of BTAS, (Season 1, Episode 18) "Beware the Gray Ghost," featured Adam West playing Simon Trent / The Gray Ghost. This is the equivalent of Captain Picard meeting Captain Kirk in the 1994 movie, Star Trek Generations. JUST EPIC! 🦇📺
I was 22 when this debuted. And the impact was still extremely massive. Growing with the animation that we had, this series was wanted. This series was needed.
September 5th should be a Holiday for Comic Book fans. Why? Because this show, is the reason major movie studios decided to take comic books seriously. They figured out that adults take them seriously.. It was a quiet revolution. The day Paul Dini's "Heart of Ice", won an Emmy. That got us the world we have today. So, if you liked Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, V for Vendetta, Watchmen, Dark Knight, Avengers movies, Wonder Woman, SHAZAM, Aquaman, Guardians of the Galaxy, Joker, Into the Spider Verse, (TV's Smallville) it all began here, with: Batman The Animated Series. If they would have failed, or if they would have never existed, then comic book movies would still be like Captain America (1979). The Incredible Hulk Returns (1988). Which means, the ONLY thing we had to look forward to was George Lucas started Star Wars again, back in 1999, and he ended it in 2005.
Love this show and agree about the rogues gallery portrayals the only one as close is the Arkham series in my opinion, Batman is such a great character
I cannot fangirl over this series enough!!! I was in my early teens when this came out and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Back in the day I had to import all of the DVD's from the US to Aus just so I could watch them over and over, along with the rest of the Animated series. Now if I can just get my hands on The Zeta Project and Static Shock- my collection will be complete!!!
I was 5 years old when I first saw this show and I was glued to my screen of how God damn amazing the show was. 30 years and it's still the greatest superhero show EVER MADE!!!
Romanian here. In my country, this show was on cartoon network on Saturday night from what I remember, so they thought it was a little bit too dark. In the end it was the best thing ever.
Does anyone know anything about 'The Gun That Killed Batman's Parents'. It was an episode of BTAS that never got made and Alan Burnett said it begins with the creation of the gun, and follows the gun through several people who use it, and finally getting to the person who killed the Waynes. And then it ends up getting melted down. Would have been amazing to see on the screen
What a beautiful video on my Birthday today :) Robin's reckoning, Demon's quest, heart of steel, and especially I am the night are some of my favorite episodes :)
Excellent video. BTAS is my favorite animated series and I have many good memories of watching it as a kid. It really was a landmark series. Thanks for a great video
Thanks for this. I watched all the episodes with my oldest son when he was growing up. I'm happy I found your RUclips channel. I look forward to seeing more of your episodes. I agree with all you said. 💯. Have an awesome weekend.
This was a great episode and I agree with you on the influence it had and still has to this day - I'm just surprised you didn't mention that Gray Ghost was played by Adam West! 😨
@Variant Comics, I thought I seen every batman film/animation movie/series, and I over looked Batman and the Phantasm. This was an amazing movie!. Thank you so much for the recommendation. Keeping doing what you do. Batman forever!.
Modern kids cartoons don't use as many guns in exchange for showing bloodless deaths on-screen (trolls getting turned to stone, exploding villains with goo instead of blood, straight up showing the murder without blood, etc.)
If TMNT were absorbed into MARVEL COMICS, I'd love to see them join X-MEN comics to join up with The Morlocks because both dwell in sewers and tunnels. Could be good team up fun and have'em team up with Matt Murdock too.
Forgot to mention the pilot that aired like at Super Bowl halftime or something with Michael Jackson’s Remember The Time video. BTAS and the MJ video had my entire family around the tv to watch cartoons. I felt so loved
You forgot to mention, this is where Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon's romance begins. Like Harley, it went from here to Elseworlds and from Elseworlds to canon under Chuck Dixon. (It's actually kinda funny, since Chuck Dixon seems like the last person I would think would bring Harley into canon, since in Thrillkiller, she's dating the Joker, who is a woman there.) This leads to this funny thing where in the comics, she was in Congress while Dick was in college (and also still a minor).
My absolute favorite! Used to watch it every night on Cartoon Network! Kevin and Marc are my favorite Batman and Joker of all time. Christian and Heath come in 2nd for me.
My favorite episodes (no particular order): Joker's Favor, Joker's Millions, Over the Edge, Holiday Knights, Legends of The Dark Knight, Lock Up, Mad Love
You missed the 2 parter "Feet of clay" and the pilot "on leather wings"where you saw blood. They were examples of awesome and fluid animation. There's also the animated series game "Batman: rise sin tsi"for ps2. That game was awesome.

Wow
Hype
Awesome
Please do Batman beyond
please check out bat in the sun's dying is easy, you will not be disappointed. @batinthesun @Variant comics
It really says something that we basically consider this show actual comic canon at this point. Greatest piece of on-screen superhero media 100%
Absolutely
BTAS is the definitive Batman
agree with this except the whole Batman bangs Batgirl who then has a miscarriage plot line. Delete that and it's perfect imo
@@FrostiOrca that was the killing joke right?
I don’t know if that’s considered cannon in this universe
@@icebough4191 its mentioned in Batman Beyond so while I don't know about the movie, the fact they were together for a period is still canon
@@FrostiOrca oh wow I had no idea
Grew up watching this as a kid and still watch it to this day...35 years later. Love it!
What year were you born?

Adam West voiced The Gray Ghost. Completely surprised you didn't mention this. Super awesome episode!
Also Dana muldar aka Dr. Polaski from tng. Awesome little suprise
I've been a long time fan of Batman TAS since I was a kid, which is why It got me to love Batman so much.
This is the definitive version of Batman period! Nothing else comes close to Batman: The Animated Series 🖤🦇🌃
I disagree with that.
Christmas with the joker is by far my favorite episode out of all of it. I love how he breaks out of Arkham asylum just to throw a pie in Batman's face and be like. It really is my favorite Batman animated anything. From the Art Deco to the depth and care of the characters, top notch.
BTAS is legendary. Just legendary.
A work of art.
I love this show. It's the reason why I love Batman today. 🖤
Kevin Conroy *IS* the definitive Batman 🥰
This captures the very essence of Batman
favorite show as a kid. I respect it now more that I've gotten older
Happy Batman Day!!
You know what day it is🦇
RIP Kevin Conroy 😭
One of the best of ALL time...Kevin Conroy will always be Batman to me! Mark Hamill was the perfect Joker. This series was perfection.
Because of Kevin and Mark..... When I read comics I can only hear their voices in my head when I read.
There are many Batmans and Jokers.... But Conroy and Hamill are Batman and Joker to me.

TAS is goated but The Batman 2004 is criminally underrated
This was an amazing show, and I always looked forward to watching it after school, and on Saturdays.

One of the best TV shows ever made.
Also, the posters featured in this video are incredible
In my opinion the thing that makes Batman so great was his Rogues gallery.
The impact of this show on Comics, Animation, Live Action and Video Games is Bonafide Then & Forward.
1 word to describe this show "LEGENDARY"
Nice to see all my fellow folks who grew up in the best decade, the 90s
Lol wooooo love this episode. Good to see you are still rolling it out.
RIP Kevin Conroy (November 30,1955-November 10,2022) 🦇 😢😢
I was 22 when this debuted. And the impact was still extremely massive. Growing with the animation that we had, this series was wanted. This series was needed.
*"I am vengeance. I am the night. I am Batman!!"*
#GOAT
This shit was my childhood...Never forget the intro and theme song the animated series had.

FACTS! I totally agree, my friend. The intro to BTAS is THE BEST!!!👊😎🦇
I was 5 years old when I first saw this show and I was glued to my screen of how God damn amazing the show was. 30 years and it's still the greatest superhero show EVER MADE!!!
It is still the greatest animated show period
Now this is gonna be a nostalgic watch

I love Batman TAS growing up I would watch it everyday after school even Superman TAS, X Men and Spider man
Absolutely love the masterpiece of television. I created this for my love of Batman
You had a hell of a run Kevin, voicing batman alot, defeating joker and haveing a hell of a speech, after all we been thought.
Excellent video. BTAS is my favorite animated series and I have many good memories of watching it as a kid. It really was a landmark series. Thanks for a great video
This and the X-Men series are largely why I'm into comics.
Oh gods! I miss the XMen series 😢
Batman the animated series is one of the greatest show ever made!
Awesome Storylines, Multidimensional Rogue Gallery, Harley Quinn and launched one of the greatest Animated Universes on television. Enough said.
Thanks for this. I watched all the episodes with my oldest son when he was growing up. I'm happy I found your RUclips channel. I look forward to seeing more of your episodes. I agree with all you said. 💯. Have an awesome weekend.
I'm gonna go back and watch all the episodes tonight
This was a great episode and I agree with you on the influence it had and still has to this day - I'm just surprised you didn't mention that Gray Ghost was played by Adam West! 😨
Mask of the Phantasm is the best movie ever
Batman tas along with Batman 89 and Returns and Forever got me into Batman in the 90s.
I like some of the lesser know episodes like Mean Seasons, The Forgotten, Paging the Crime Doctor, etc.
Best Batman show ever
@Variant Comics, I thought I seen every batman film/animation movie/series, and I over looked Batman and the Phantasm. This was an amazing movie!. Thank you so much for the recommendation. Keeping doing what you do.
Batman forever!.
Man this series was my childhood 💯🔥💪 as someone who is suicidal right now little videos like this help me hang on 💯
How old were you when you watched the show back in the 90s?
Such a great show!!!!
The posters @ 3:41 & 3:47 are my phone wallpapers rn haha Nice
This is the best superhero cartoon ever made.
Loved this show when I was a kid❤️💯.
This show along with some other animated shows are still just as amazing today as they were back then
Modern kids cartoons don't use as many guns in exchange for showing bloodless deaths on-screen (trolls getting turned to stone, exploding villains with goo instead of blood, straight up showing the murder without blood, etc.)
Batman the animated series is the sole reason i fell in love with comics and superheroes and why i love batman
As a kid I remember watching the Clayface episode and it scaring the crap out of me.
I’m watching the series again…just finished the first season and it still holds up
The voice talent on B:TAS deserves a video deep dive of its own- the talent is fantastic!
Brilliant episode! Please do this for X-Men the animated series, since it's also the 30th anniversary of that show.
Killer Croc design was coolest because it was intimidating and not too cartoony. Wish they mutated him from this Color scheme
No doubt the best Batman show ever!
If TMNT were absorbed into MARVEL COMICS, I'd love to see them join X-MEN comics to join up with The Morlocks because both dwell in sewers and tunnels. Could be good team up fun and have'em team up with Matt Murdock too.

I would love to hear your take on other Batman tv series both animated and the 60s version that I grew up with.
Rest in Peace, Kevin Conroy.

The Animated Series is the best most definitely. Great writing and great vid like always
My absolute favorite! Used to watch it every night on Cartoon Network! Kevin and Marc are my favorite Batman and Joker of all time. Christian and Heath come in 2nd for me.
Just got done rewatching.
They almost brought Conroy back from retirement. Cancelling the sequel series will always be a dagger to my btas loving heart.
RIP KEVIN CONROY (1955-2022)
Watching Christmas With The Joker is a Christmas Eve tradition of mine as well.
Laughing fish to me is my favorite episode in the series
I've collected a few of the toys and figures and their designs just make me smile
30 years old and this series is a masterpiece
