  • If your shifter is hard to get into 1st, 2nd, reverse, or just feeling notchy in general, you need to align the shifter.
You'll need to remove the center console first, which is the most time consuming part of the procedure. Once that's off, the actual adjustment takes 30 seconds.

Too bad his hands were in the way during the most critical moments of the explanation.

Well that looks pretty damn easy. My 987 is being a bit more difficult to get into 1st/2nd/3rd ever since the weather started getting cool (it's not even cold yet, just went from average of 80*F to an average of 60-70*F, very small difference) over the last month. Gets better once it warms up. I'll go buy that tool, I guess! Thanks.

On the left hand cable, is there anything else besides that ball end retainer that holds that cable on??

Does anyone know if the 00072196191 part is a replacement for the 00072196190? It seems the 00072196190 is no longer available anywhere.
