    Why was Moe Norman so successful with his arms extended not hanging straight down.😺

    • @Randy-mw1es
      @Randy-mw1es 4 месяца назад +1

      Because he hit millions of balls and he did not use the conventional grip.He never could hit the ball long and never will with that swing.his hands did not hing much to create the speed.

    • @seansmith373
      @seansmith373 3 месяца назад

      He used a neutral grip and 250-260 yrds back then was pretty impressive
      But I’m just saying I use varibles of his swing because of a back injury 3 yrs again can confirm with the technique I can swing in the range of 110-119 swing speed
      This video and advice is just someone’s opinion and not a fact
      Power comes at contact and the follow through
      Nothing before or setup is going to change anything
      It might help you locate the right feel for alignment at impact but nothing is really the gold standard of advice

    • @SL0409
      @SL0409 29 дней назад

      @@seansmith373wasnt neutral at all. He put his trail arm into a non rotational state whuch meant he could swing back and swing forward on the same plane.
      His swing was horrendous looking but it worked for him after hitting millions of golf balls for over 40 years

    • @CrankyBuddha
      @CrankyBuddha 3 месяца назад +1

      feel like you're pushing down with your bottom hand. It will result in hinging your wrists and getting the club up while your hands stay low. Really good tip for amateurs, tbh. The earlier you get your wrists set, the better.

    I'm a Golf Professional with 46 years of competitive golf experience, with many of those years involving teaching while playing poorly, and playing when playing well.
    What is being described here contains a tremendous amount of validity.
    However, by omitting any feels, what is actually happening is a description, not an education.
    I hope y'all understand the difference, and so do you.
    If you can't feel it, it's background music, unworthy of title.

    Explaine Moe Norman’s set up then Einstein 😅😅😅

    • @TeddyCavachon
      @TeddyCavachon 7 месяцев назад +1

      If you watch Norman’s swing frame by frame you see his hands start in full wrists down ulnar deviation when lining up and addressing the ball due to his single plane swing and across palm grip style but during the trip to the top of the backswing the club force pulls and cocks the wrists into radial deviation as suggested in this video with the club head force pulling them back into maxed-out ulnar deviation again, with face square to target as ball compresses and releases off the face. It is the same principles of physics doing the work just in a different sequence.

    • @openstenosis
      @openstenosis 7 месяцев назад +1

      I’m with you about Moe. I think it’s an issue of when leverage occurs. Porzak is a really good communicator & believes early leverage set is easier. One could bring up Mr. Consistent Stricker that leverage or minimal leverage might be easier to accomplish

    • @TeddyCavachon
      @TeddyCavachon 7 месяцев назад

      @@openstenosis Agree it is just an issue of when not how. I worked at a course as starter where both the pros taught the Graves / Norman single plane style, one of them using same length irons. What happens when setting up like Moe with wrists cocked down in ulnar deviation and the club a foot behind and inside the ball is that the free lever action at the wrist creates even more acceleration and upward cocking force that doing with the club starting just behind the ball. The same amount of cocking and uncocking of the wrist occurs but Norman accomplished in with a shorter backswing path which likely better suited his short stocky stature.

    • @mrsmartypants_1
      @mrsmartypants_1 5 месяцев назад

      The best thing you could do is forget about Moe Norman and instead follow this advice but Teddy and Open describe what’s going on very well.
