You know, there's an old wives tale that if you peel an apple in one go and toss it behind your head, you'll see the first letter of the person you're going to marry! Worked for my mom!

Omg! When my por por came to visit us in Australia, she would sit me down at the table after school (I was a latchkey kid!) & prepare me an apple just like this… while she had a hearty shot of brandy! I miss her. Thank you for triggering the memory! 💕

Thank you😔What made this vid so much more of a therapeutic for me is the sound quality, the peeling of a crisp apple sounded divine..like hearing a bumble bee 💤🐝in an otherwise still and silent temple🙏❤️

I wonder what makes peeling an aporo this way 'Chinese?' We've done it like this since forever. I remember watching my great, great grandmother peeling fruit for preserving when I was a wee girl. I'm well in to my 70's now but the memories are still clear of sitting on the floor at her feet, playing with the skin spirals and chewing on the fruit slices she would hand down to me. Cheers from Aotearoa New Zealand.

It’s like watching my mum peel apples for us as children - we loved it when it was all in one piece! Happy days x
