Thank you VERY much ! I was at a rock shop (and jewelry makers) about 10 yrs ago and picked out a real pretty rose quartz piece, the owner took it in the back and wrapped it for me so I never saw how she did it. Now I have pieces of turquoise, and other stones from old jewelry and needed somebody to explain this method to me in a way I could understand..I'm very excited to see what I can do...
I have been so interested in wire wrapping --actual pieces, not just eyelets and j.r.'s. I understand gauges, and so forth, but implementing it has been something that I have just not had a clue to where to start. Thank you SO much for posting this! I have some serious ideas that have been mulling around upstairs that I just have had no idea how to implement. Now I have somewhere to start. Thank you again!
Thank you very much for this video. Watching it made me realize that I would love to make my own jewelry, and I'm only 14. I went out to a store and got some wire, jump rings, and pliers, and I used a stone called Fire Agate. I'm very happy with the way it turned out! I look forward to seeing some more videos as I get more experienced. Thanks again!
After reviewing a plethora of videos on wire wrapping stones, I finally found yours. Your demonstration was easy to see, hear, understand, and far more helpful.
Thank you for posting your video!!
She gets right to the point. I loved it. Thank you.
Thank you so much this is the first video I have seen that really showed me how to do this. I have a piece of stone that my baby brother gave me years ago that he picked up in California, he passed away 4 years ago, and now I can finally wire wrap this and be able to wear it close to my heart. I love you tutorials.
Extremely easy for anyone to wrap!…Thanks a bunch for sharing such a useful instruction.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH, THAT'S A GREAT TUTORIAL. FINALLY FOUND SOME ONE THAT MADE IT EASY!!!!!
Thank you for making it so easy to understand your tutorials. I have been wanting to learn how to wire wrap things; I turned to your videos because you also taught me how to make rings and I never thought I could. I love all of your tutorials and hope you will have more coming.
Your videos are a great help. Very well done! thank you!
This was really helpful Mum. I have been making necklaces for about a year and wanted to refine my skills and learn more techniques. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! I have wasted so much wire thinking "surely I can just figure it out myself..." but it would never have occurred to me to use this perfect and simple technique.
Thank-you...very clear and concise...I'm sure I'll be back for reference!
I just love your tutorials. You have such a nice voice and a very gentle but effective way of demonstrating what to do. I have had a pile of undrilled agate slices for years of many irregular shapes and have always wondered what to do with them. I have now made three wire wrapped pendants based on this tutorial and they look great. Thank you. Dearbhla, Ireland.
One of the best tutorials I've watched in a long time, Thank you!
What a great tutorial. Your directions are easy to follow. Thank you!

Perfect video! This makes it so much simpler. I like how it looks and the fact that you can make it fancy if you want to.
THANK you. I appreciate the simplicity of this instructional video
Fantastic tutorial! I am so glad to have found your straight forward instructions for basic wrapping. I have a troop of girl scout juniors who will be earning their jewelry badge tomorrow night, so I will practice a few before I show them. Thank you.
That is wonderful! Work with the wire and the girls should have a great time!

Oh That will be Beautiful and greatly appreciated :)
Thank you. Great video. Quick, simple and attractive.
Thank you. You made it look so easy. I am ready to try it.
Yes you can, you just have to be sure to anchor it down well with the wire, can be difficult depending on the stone shape. always fun to try and the wrapped stone it gives it a very nice look.
Great video!
WoW !!! Great !!! Thank you very much for sharing that :)
Thanks a lot !This is just what I was looking for..
Awesome!
Very nice job!
Super and so well described. Thanks.

The gauge wire used in the video is 22, Depending on the stone size and the look you are after really has to do with the wire gauge, for small stones we use 26 and 24 gauge, for larger stones 22 and 20. each gauge has a different look.
awesome :)
Very nice tutorial. I learned a lot. You are a very good teacher as well. Thanks, 1926lady
This will help me immensely.
Very simple and helpful for me as a beginner.

perfect and easy way
Thanks! How do you wire wrap with a loop on both ends?
Thank you :)
You make very very good videos but I wish you could get the camera person to get behind you so we can see a center view instead of a side few, that would make your videos the very best! thanks very much!
I was looking for because I need a lot of storms..thanks...sorry for my poor English I´m Brazilian...
The gauge really depends on the size of the piece you are wrapping and the intricacy of the wrapping as well. We normally use 20 to 28 gauge 22 is a nice one to work with. there are many nice wires to choose from such as artistic, art craft, zebra etc.
This method looks very easy, but I wish there were an easier way to use firmer wire because the kind of wire I want to use you can't really very easily twist with your hands. I learned to do it, I guess, the "hard way" with hand tool pliers and "bindings" and precise measurements. If only there were an easier way to do it without soft round wire, but I guess there's not, unless you are precise.
If you need a bale or loop on both ends, just place a loop in the center of the wires then add a couple twists on each side of it. Then continue on. :) That is probably the easiest way.
thank you
Any thoughts how I can adjust the wrap to have a bale on both ends?
Many people have allergies to nickel. In the past manufacturers used nickel but most of todays findings and wires are nickel free.
Is it better to go with the dead soft, or the half hard wire when wrapping stones? I am purchasing some rose gold filled wire, and not sure which is best for what I'm trying to accomplish. I know the dead soft can easily lose it's shape if not hammered to harden, and that the half-hard is supposed to be a middle ground, but not sure if the half hard is malleable enough for stone wrapping. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated! :D
Beverley Avena All the wire is a bit different, for something small with little curls, twists, etc, softer wire is easier to work with, something larger using a larger gauge wire is better using the half hard wire, it holds up better. Just really depends on your stone size, the wire being used and the purpose of the piece. Generally the smaller and more intricate the softer wire works better, larger more simple work usually the half hard is best, it also holds up well for heavy use.
i wish the lighting was better. This was simple and helpful.
Thank you, this is the best video I have found so far but my wrapping does not look as nice as yours lol
what gauge wire did you use and what brand? I found that the wire I used is way too strong and hard to work with :(
would you be able to wrap a donut pendant with swirls.......
I like this video except that I can't see the wire very closely to see if I am doing it correctly. Maybe if you zoomed the camera in on the sea glass and wire more, it would be easier to see. I don't know if I did my wire wrapping the way you did because I can't see it clearly.
what size wire is best?
Where could I get wires like the ones you use? I want to start wrapping stones and crystals and I'm not sure where to get the appropriate wires.
You should be able to pick up some colored copper wire at Wal-Mart, jo anns, Michaels or many other craft supply store, the copper is a nice wire to practice with as it is very pliable and easy to work with before moving to the silver and gold wire.
Where do you get your stones?
What's the gauge you have used in this tutorial??
I have tried this project but my wire keeps breaking. I have tried half-hard and dead soft wire but it keeps breaking in the middle of a coil. What am I doing wrong?
Just used this tutorial to successfully wrap and hang a tooth.
YAY!
could I do this with a ring?
What is an electricians twist?
I'm struggling on how to figure out how to do the twisty thing you do... I can't get it right...
That is the electricians twist, takes practice, just dont fight the wire or overtwist to tight, practice with bits of scrap wire till you get the look you want.
Well, it's hard to say but sounds like it is just being over worked, don't twist so tight, when you get the even twist you are after stop. When it gets over twisted in one spot it will break.
Relax and work with the wire.
im 14 and a dude is there any tips i get for a beginer
Great video!
Thank you :)
