    The Plan B mount has a taper in front of the threads that keeps carbon out of the threads, ensures good lockup, and allows repeatable mounting. Something about physics with tapers.

    I love me some Rearden. Basically Plan B but with wrench flats on the back of the muzzle device. The lock up on the Rearden isnt only the threads, but the rather large taper that adds a shit ton of friction that locks the can on. I have 5 cans with Rearden adapters with thousands of rounds of 5.56, 9mm, 300blk and 308. Never had an issue with any of my cans coming loose or carbon locking. The can can be difficult to remove if it is very hot, though. I just wait for them to cool and they pop right off or use a strap wrench to get it off if im in a hurry. It also has the benefits of being extremely short, light, inexpensive, and top notch customer service.

      @@justinpate3466 I have also switched over to Rearden on my cans and have never had any issues with carbon lock or vibrating loose. I rocksett both the adapter and muzzle device and hand tighten the can. Multiple training courses and personal range trips with no issues. My 300blk SBR definitely sees the most abuse with well over 2k rounds at this point (mostly subs). Well worth the money IMO. That said, I do NOT have any experience with the ASR system to say one is better. Rearden/Plan B has worked for me so that's primarily what I run now.

    I’ve got Xeno mounts on all of my rifle cans. Main reason I went with it over the Plan B or Reardon was the left hand thread between the suppressor adapter and the muzzle device. So when you remove the can from the muzzle device you are actually tightening the muzzle device and adapter with no risk of taking the muzzle device off when you remove the suppressor. No rocksett or loctite and I’ve never had a single issue. Just make sure everything is torqued properly. Main downside vs the plan b style mounts is they are a tiny bit heavier and a tiny bit longer but not a big deal in my usage.

      Better than the KeyMo, as thats long and heavy, but it gets expensive when everyone keeps making KeyMo the 14.5 pin and weld way of things (Fuck!)

    I’ve got a Wolf Pack Armory Rearden/Plan B adapter on my Polonium K. I’ve only got about 1,000 rounds through it, but so far, so good. No carbon lock. No coming loose. Perfect return to zero as far as I can tell. The main reason I chose it is because it adds very little overall length to my rifle.
    Edit: I should add that the muzzle device I’m using is the FCD muzzle brake for Rearden adapters.

    • @Ertactical
      @Ertactical 5 месяцев назад

      both will carbon lock but the DA does a bit sooner that the ASR, in my findings with mine and clients guns, they are also a bit more willing to separate from can and mount as you need to remove via the can and not the mount. this is also harder when the can is hot. so my pref is the ASr but i do have the DA and it has Pro's too.

    Glad to hear your comments on ASR. New to cans, just got my first one about a month ago when the approvals suddenly started coming in fast, and now I have SEVEN! ;-). When i first started researching new to can I was overwhelmed. Almost standardized and went with the Rearden, as they are very popular right now, however I have one gun that i needed to have a pin/weld device on it for a 14.5” barrel, so needed a longer muzzle device. Yes it is heavier than the Rearden, but like you said i like the extra locking collar on the ASR, and it is very quick/easy to mount with one hand. Had a lot of guns to buy muzzle devices, but glad i went ASR as I now have 3 SiCo cans, with one more being purchased as we speak, so nice to be able to swap them around . . .

    I’ve got thousands of rounds through the Plan B mounting system. I’ve never had a can walk off or carbon lock. When the taper in front of the threads heats up, it takes significantly more force to unscrew the can. The taper also protects the threads from getting any carbon on them. It also the lightest mounting option available besides direct thread.

    The mounts I currently use are DA Xeno, DA KeyMo, tri-lug and the OPS12 collar / break.
    The tri-lug is the best but only works for the AR9. The KeyMo is the strongest lock up but can be too difficult to remove at the range. I like the Xeno over the KeyMo but I’ve worried about walking off. It never has for me but did on a friend’s 10.5”. The OPS12 collar / break is the coolest. And I really like the OCL OTB version that combines the muzzle devise and collar into 1 piece.

A LH thread taper just seems like a better implementation of what Plan B does with less worry of accidentally uninstalling your muzzle device and/or hub adapter.

Part of me wants to get an adapters for both cans and have my rifles with a uniform mounting system, but on the other hand, that would be multiple hundreds of dollars in adapters and muzzle devices, and I just don't care that much.

      @Ertactical 7 месяцев назад

      I have not purchased any Griffin Suppressors for a handful of reasons. I recently spoke with them over the phone as to why I did not particularly like their Suppressors. A lot of it had to do with their available muzzle devices. However, they convinced me and they have two on the way to me now. More testing to come. As it pertains to birdcage/hiders. I almost never leave a birdcage style flash hider on my rifle as I prefer recoil reducing devices for when I’m not using a suppressor. This is why I usually remove birdcagemuscle devices and do not prefer birdcage attachment type devices. It should also be noted that in many cases, even though the suppressor can attach to the birdcage flash Hyder, they often recommend you remove the flash and use shims to the flash hider instead of leaving the crush washer on as this can lead to a baffle strike. I hope this helps.

    Perfect Timing - I have been pouring through a ton of videos just to bring myself up to speed. I struggled with deciding which muzzle device to mount on a Molot Vepr AK-47 (RPK Style) which has M14x1 LH threads butted up to the front post. Curious if anyone has suppressed an AK that has the M14x1thread and which Muzzle Device and Suppressor did you go with?

    • @ThisHandleIsTaken1
      @ThisHandleIsTaken1 7 месяцев назад

      Look into the JMac 360 x37 muzzle devices. They are make for AKs, and allow you to mount any hub/bravo mount suppressor. The popular can for AKs is the DA wolverine- i have my wolverine mounted using the Jmac hub adapter for the wolverine, and then mounted Jmac 360 muzzle devices on all my various AKs. Made it so I can quick change out between all my AKs, without having to spend a bunch of time changing the adapters/threads out on the Wolverine. If you use the Jmac muzzle devices then because they are HUB/bravo compatible, you can also mount many suppressors. Just make sure you test for concentricity.

    • @Quality_Guru
      @Quality_Guru 7 месяцев назад

      @@ThisHandleIsTaken1 Thanks for the intel. I'm looking at not going with the Wolverine since I'm not crazy about the KeyMod system. I have been looking at the JMA Muzzle device" 360 14-1LH Facemount X37 HD - HUB". Which one did you go with?

    • @ThisHandleIsTaken1
      @ThisHandleIsTaken1 7 месяцев назад

      @@Quality_Guru I’ve got I think 5 different Jmac X37 360 muzzle devices on different AKs- the nice thing about it is that you can standardize the mounting by doing this, as my many AKs all have different thread pitches. With the Jmac wolverine to hub adapter, you can forgo keymod, as I am also not a fan. If you just dont want to go Wolverine, you can go any hub compatible can. The new Sputnik is pretty awesome for AKs, and is hub compatible, so will mount to any of the Jmac muzzle devices . . .
