- Thinking about upgrading your doorbell camera? Today, I’m breaking down why I made the switch from Ring to the Xiaomi Smart Doorbell 3. With so many great features packed in, this doorbell has genuinely impressed me.
The Xiaomi Smart Doorbell 3 offers clear 2K video resolution, an ultra-wide 180° field of view, and powerful 3M adhesive for a secure, simple installation. Plus, Xiaomi includes a 79-decibel wireless chime, and it’s free! With Ring, you’d have to buy that separately. The doorbell is easy to recharge with USB-C and holds up to 4.8 months on a single charge-super convenient.
One of the biggest reasons I switched, though, is price. Ring’s subscription fees can add up quickly, while Xiaomi offers 3 days of free cloud storage, along with cheaper storage plans if you want to keep footage longer. If you do need long-term storage, Ring has the advantage of 180-day event history, which could be useful, but for most day-to-day use, Xiaomi’s 3-day free storage is plenty.
Now, if you’re interested in an upgrade, I’d actually recommend going for the Xiaomi Smart Doorbell 3S if you can! I didn’t have access to it at the time I bought mine, but it has a few extra perks that make it worth checking out. Either way, the Smart Doorbell 3 and 3S both bring great value for smart home security, and I’m glad I made the switch.

Forced Removal Alarm: If an attempt is made to forcibly remove the doorbell, it triggers an alarm, records video footage, and sends a notification to your smartphone, alerting you to the potential theft.
One-to-One Account Pairing: Each doorbell is paired exclusively with a single user account. Even if the device is stolen, it cannot be reset or paired with another account, rendering it unusable to the thief.
That's with a ring also just 1 pin and remove the thing...
Can the light bottom in the front of the bell be always on?
No, it is activated when the button is pressed.
Is it possible to do not receive notifications during the day and get every movement in front of the door during the night?

the door chime need to be charged all the way?
The doorbell is conveniently powered by a USB-C cable, eliminating the need for charging. It is recommended to place the doorbell inside the house, at a suitable distance from the door, to ensure optimal sound clarity.
