Nicely made video! 👏🏻😃 I own the grinder in chrome and it's a fabulous machine!! So quiet and easy to use! I have question though, with some espresso beans I need to grind so fine that even reaching 0 at the grind scale is not enough. I tried to turn below 0 but it stops. Is it possible generally to go beyond 0? I am asking in order not to break anything. 😄 But as I mentioned this happened only with some espresso beans not with all. I look forward to your answer, thanks a lot in advance!
There is generally is a stopper on most grinders, but would have to check on this model. In saying that, surprised you would need to go that fine.. Could you just up the coffee dose slightly?
i had the same problem with mine. it is possible to change this so you dont have to go beyond 0. My local coffee dealer has done this for me, works great. i am now at a grind scale of 2.5 but my extraction time is still to fast....kind of weird and i think i have to go to my dealer a second time to change this.
Hey man, not sure if the problem has been fixed already. I had the same problem. The thing is that Rocket puts some sort of safety in the grind adjustment which prevents you from going too fine, my dealer explained this to me and they didn't really understand why Rocket does this. But there is an easy fix: there is a very flathead screw on the adjustment wheel, if you turn this a half step to loosen it up you can just lift the wheel off the grinder and then you can use the screw which holds the wheel in place to adjust your grind. After you have found the right grind it is recommandeble to put the wheel back on on 4 or something if you mostly drink espresso's so when you buy different beans you can adjust more easily. Hope this helps!
@@ewoutbun8333 Hi Ewout thanks a lot for your reply!! I took the chance and I went into a local espresso store (which they sell rocket equipment) and they were able to adjust it. In the end what they did was exactly the same as you described. Now my scale is set to 3 and it's really fine. The guy from the store said that I can adjust and go finer if some other espresso beans need it. Strange that Rocket set that stop so high. I don't get it since it's an espresso grinder and the espresso needs quite fine grind. Nevertheless the problem is now solved and finally I can enjoy a nice extraction with reach cream. I wish you a wonderful day! :)
@@CoffeePartsTV Indeed this grinder has the stop too high. I tried so many espresso beans without luck. Even with 18g dose. In the end the solution was to adjust the stop. Now everything works like a charm.
The music on the older videos isn't great, but we have improve (I think) on the newer videos. Have been trying to keep the videos somewhat short, yet may look at making them a little longer and going into more detail on future ones..
@@CoffeePartsTV I appreciate your videos and I subscribed. Your overview of this new Faustino is the only one I've seen on RUclips and it gave me good reasons not to choose the previous model and even better reason to opt for this grinder over all the others. The best ratio quality / price / quiet / ease to clean IMO. Thanks for that.
We have both models here, so will run a comparison with some feedback, maybe even do a video with both. With temperatures we would suggest heat is a by product of beans being broken and ground, so the higher the demand will increase temps. But will look into it.
As other owners have discovered, the factory setting of this machine is way too coarse for espresso. The grind dial must be removed to get to the coarse adjustment screw beneath. There is no guidance in the user manual on how this should be done. Not a great first impression…
Hi Pedro. Do you have the grinder? There is a stop on the grind setting - when set correctly the zero point should be just above burr contact, so you can’t really ‘go below zero’.
I noticed you use about 15s to get 21g of coffee, my machine does about 16/17g in 20s is that normal? Also any idea if we can remove the portafilter holder? Has I would like to use the funnel because of the mess it would be nice if I would remove it
Great video. I'm weighing up getting this machine or a niche zero. On paper this grinder seems really ideal, but I wonder if you'd be able to advise me as to whether the quality of the grind is similar between the two?
Two very different machines! The Niche Zero is more work to run, in that you have to weight in and out your coffee. As the name suggests the Niche has zero retention, and the large conical blades help too. Would say the Niche would probably win in terms of grind quality, but not build quality.
Yes, it would grinder for Aeropress... However if you are looking at a grinder just for Aeropress this may be a pricey option.. You could look at grinders like the Baratza Encore or Fellow ODE. We did do a video a while ago on filter grinders: ruclips.net/video/4iw_fomI_eM/видео.html
A couple of questions... Is the 3.1 version of this grinder still made by Eureka? and given the Eureka Oro Mignon XL 65E is less expensive, what would make the Rocket a better purchase? or is the XL the better buy for home? Many thanks in advance!
The 3.1 is now made by Fiorenzato, in collaboration with Rocket. Previous generation was made by Eureka. In terms of grind output, Eureka Oro Mignon XL 65E is better value and I'm a big fan of it. In saying that, the Rocket has a nice build, and nicer adjustment dial. Hope that helps.

I have this grinder and to grind 19g of coffee for espresso, I've had to adjust the grind so the burrs are nearly touching each other and it then takes 30-32 seconds. How on earth did you get yours to do it so quick?
This sounds a little strange. Really hard to say without seeing the machine. Have you tried cleaning out the grinder? Constant adjustment of the grinder can created a build up of coffee in the exit chute which could result in slow grinding. Could also be that the burrs are blunt/damaged (which most likely isn't the case in a new machine) or that trying to grind a super light roast very fine. Again, really hard to know without seeing the grinder, yet cleaning out the chute would be what I would try.
@@CoffeePartsTV Thanks for the reply. I have cleaned the grinder, but it has been this way since the first time I used it, and I've used a variety of different beans, so I'm also confused. If you think this definitely isn't right then I'll contact the company where I bought it and see what they say.
@@TimmyGTS1985 Hi Tim, I just got mine and have the same issue. The grind is way too coarse, even when the burs are set to just above touching each other. The espresso coming out is more like an Americano than an espresso. Did you get a solution to your problem?
Update: I contacted the company who sold me the grinder to express my disappointment and have now sent it back for a refund. Such a shame because it should have been a fantastic grinder.
Is it still made by Eureka? I have the previous gen and am pretty sure it was a Eureka Mignon Specialita at its core.

Where is the actual review and comparisons?
What about grind temperature. It was really bad with the old version (about 43°C) - while the grind tempo was reaaaaally slow (about 10secs/10gram).

It is in infinite dial, you can just go "below" 0 and and it will do finner.

Great video but I still don't know which grinder to choose 🤯???
Eureka Mignon Specialita or Rocket Faustino 3.1.
Maybe you can help a little.? 🤝

Hi there! One question
Should I buy this version or a previous one?
Both are cool, I prefer the screen on the previous model and the portafilter support of the newer one. Yet, grind wise both similar.
Is it possible to adjust the zero grind setting on the adjustment dial if it won't grind fine enough?
Yes, there is a grub screw that you can loosen off and reposition the dial.
Ps. Sorry for the delay in reply.
