That's was probably the most in depth video of a tanks plumbing I've ever seen. It was freakin awesome, thank you for sharing. You got a bad ass system.
I see u worked in some pvc spa hose when adding the hammerhead. I learned this lesson too. lol love the stuff, more flexibility and limits vibration. virtually kink proof as well. Enjoyed the video keep up the good work!
Hey man thanks for making videos I know shits been a little crazy for you lately but thank you for pushing through and making videos bro!! Always come back to this video idk what it is but I love the set up
Absolutely great video! I’m planning on moving my sump to my basement a 60g breeder I drilled for a Pan world 250. It’ll be connected to a 90g and a 40breeder. Im thinking to plumb both tanks into the sump I’ll use a 1.5 inch drain line. Think that would allow enough flow?
Great job in plumbing in this new pump. looks good the way you have it done. good thing you're on a cememt floor because I know you had some spillage. lol.. you're going to enjoy the flow out if that monster. 👍
My dad had a external pump for years....its just me but the external pumps make me nervous as hell...idk why but they do...i enjoyed the video man cheers
I agree its very enjoyable even when i just get a new skimmer or power head ... Im still getting what i need for the 100 gallon half circle im thinking of doing videos of it from it being empty all the way up to running i think im putting a sump on that but not drilling the tank
+Lee and Mandy Battersby I would really look into drilling the tank its so much better. If you aren't comfortable drilling it a local glass shop could do it. Overflows are pretty cheap too, it probably wont cost more than the hang on the back overflow setup.
fantastic! your so happy in this vid you made me happy at 5am LOL... great work man.. I'm curious how much water did you drain from the plumbing before you started ripping it all out? are you gonna add any emergency drains from the anemone frag tank in case it does get clogged? This would have been fun to help with I dream of a setup like this one day... lol
+CJ'S AQUARIUMS Thanks CJ. I was able to do this by draining only 45 gallons of water. It was a major pain and I spilled a far bit to the floor but I made it work by transferring water to different tanks. I don't have plans for an emergency drain on the anemone tank. I might add a T to the current drain witch will reduce a lot of risk. Any time your ready to come to CO you can help with my tank.
Thank for share, what kind of return pump are you use? I am preparing setup sump for my tank in basement, My display tank at Ground Floor, ( 1200l) distance from sump to main tank about 7-8m. I'm looking for pump suitable for my system. Thank so much
I have 75 gal reef tank sps dominant and want to do a remote sump just below the tank ...say 15 ft head height....any ideas where to start researching the types of pumps I should be looking for .... specific models....always used submersible stuff below the tank
Sammy31Dee Best bet is an external pump with high head pressure. I would go Iwaki or Panworld. The Reeflows are nice but can leak and have bearing issues. I use mlne as a backup now
I had a flood last night with my protein skimmer my dog woke me up and could have saved my life the water had gone on the plugs and they had all melted was sparking and smoking i hate that skimmer its forever overflowing can a protein skimmer be switched off at night its frightened me now
I live in the Denver area and I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on where to get live rock for a decent price. I got the rock for my last tank from Neptune's for $10 a pound and I am happy with it. But that was for a 37 gallon tank, I just got a 90gallon and I was hoping to save some money with the rock.
+Dylan Streweler Morrison I don't know of any place locally that's real cheap. I personally recommend dry rock over live rook its about a third the price and once its in the reef it will become live rock. BRS has good stuff and caribsea has some nice stuff that's cheap. www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=24528&cmpid=03cseYY&gclid=CjwKEAjww9O3BRDp1tq0jIP023YSJAB0-j1S8JfM-xRZ0lV5QWbY-jkH5PzbjGjXkVlfR6ZGGj10SxoC8LDw_wcB

Christ steve thats impressive but i really dont envy your electricity bill while running all that equipement you must be running close to 20-30 sockets buy now 😂😂

+Smokkedandslammed Thanks its taken a lot of time and effort to get it to this point.

That is so intarcite, and a maze of piping. So that pump runs all equipment in the basement. Cool stuff.
+Ed's tank extreme Yup one pump runs a lot of stuff

way to go bro im glade its coming together better.. love the skimmer there beasts
+Merritt McDowell Thanks I love the AquaC skimmers. I really like the fact that they can be used externally.
Re-watched this for my plumbing this weekend. I"ll give you a heads up on the shoutout coming soon, for the help a couple weeks ago.
Can't wait to see it!
You have completely blown my mind watching this must have taken you a lot of thinking for that set up
+Lee and Mandy Battersby Thanks its been a slow evolution over several years.
My dad had a external pump for years....its just me but the external pumps make me nervous as hell...idk why but they do...i enjoyed the video man cheers
Awesome set up!!

It is ok to use hyda 26 in refugium? Today i have one t5 and an led bulb. Is it enough, or should i put hydra? I find my chaeto grow slowly.
Hell yeaa sounds like you had it planned out
+Rico Suave Thanks

Man Scott you have a bad ass system brother , I may have missed it but how much water is there in all ?
Thanks man total seystem volume is 450 gallons.
+MileHighReefers where did you get those 45 degree elbows??
+Anthony's Reef I got those at Lowes they where really nice to use.
very nice system
Yhanks!

can you explain you water tube filter
+jason lamountain The Rotter Tube is a sock replacement made by my good friend Steve Rotter from Rotter Tube Reef. ruclips.net/video/Sm4qFMjr5jI/видео.html
+MileHighReefers awesome that is exactly what i have been looking for
How does your auto top off work?
+mrcow51 I don't have an ATO my RO tank is right next to the sump I just open a valve and top it off daily.
Subscribed ha ha ha
+mitian Sweeet!
Dude that is crazy I got lost lol!!!!
+eric villela Thanks its been several years of hard work and planning.
I take it you don't do water changes ?
I don't do them too often I try and maintain good quality thru good filtration and reactors.
What reactors do you need to succeed in minimal water changes ?
Christ steve thats impressive but i really dont envy your electricity bill while running all that equipement you must be running close to 20-30 sockets buy now 😂😂
+Dan Callus Ya the electric bill does suck especially in the summer when the AC is on we get into the higher power rates.
I give you props, but I can't even 1/3 of you filtration . Running a 120 sump less
+Dan Cast Thanks
that skimmer tho.. jesus
+Reid Smith It a beast rated for a tank up to 1000 gallons.
I don't even have a sump can't figure them out so I'd have no chance with yours
+Lee and Mandy Battersby Basic sumps are pretty easy. I might have gone overboard, but why not its fun.
It's the plumbing equivalent of over engineering.
Thanks!! it was a huge job.
