- Hello and welcome to the SPOOLIN UP channel.
In this video I install a replica R32 bumper to my MK4 GOLF GTI in the hope that I could make the car look better.
I have wanted an R32 front bumper for a long time but as I couldn't find an indigo blue bumper to match my car I had to find what was best to keep the cost of the car down.
I did not want to spend hundreds of pounds buying a genuine R32 bumper and then pay someone repair it and spray it to match my car. I decieded to buy a replica bumper in the end which was sprayed to order so it came in indigo blue but the only thing is that it is not the best fit.
I am yet to see if someone can modify the bumper to fit or even if I come across a genuine one that is affordable. I will keep you guys posted.
I hope you guys enjoy the video, be sure to LIKE, COMMENT and SUBSCRIBE. I will see you on the next one.

Yea u fit the bumper on the sides first and then u can bolt it up
What a transformation mate!
Thanks man, not perfect but I will get there. Trail and error.
This looks collldddd 🥶🥶🥶
Thanks bro 👊🏾
Do you have a link to the spacer plates for inside the wheel arches please mate?
classic.heritagepartscentre.com
Try part number 1J0806570 for one side and 1J0806569 for the other side. You might have to call them.
How does the GTI emblem mount on the grille?
On the back of the emblem there are two threaded studs that you slot through to the other side if the grille, then there are two brackets that slide onto those studs followed by nuts. The brackets you put on behind the grille stop the emblem falling off. Does that make sense? Tried my best Hahaha!
Looking good cuz!
Thank you man, I did a video after correcting the mistakes I made, its even better now
@@SPOOLINUP yeah bro if you're ever in east, come through
Where abouts in east are you?

I bought it from ebay mate, im pretty sure they have gone up in price now, they used to be cheap.

I just tried to find it now. The seller is currently away on Ebay but I have copied the link to their Ebay shop. Just give them a message and see if they respond.

I bought it from ebay. I can send you a link to their shop/ebay page.
Hi mate remove the bumper and get a mate to help you the key to fitting these mk4 bumpers is to slides the sides of the bumper in the the slider brackets 1st and then put the the screws in at the top it should fit perfect then
Thanks for that tip mate, I will give it a shot as soon as I can and let you know if it works. Thanks again appreciate the help!
No problem bud persevere and I promise it will fit just get a mate to help 👍
@@clifton1989 I honestly appreciate the good and helpful advice. I will do an update video on it once I get it fitted better. I will be happy once its on and looking sweet.
@@SPOOLINUP your welcome bro 👍
Hey man, just tried out your advice and the bumper fits perfectly now. Thanks for helping me, the bumper fits so well now. I cant believe I thought it was that bad of a replica. I always welcome helpful people like yourself to comment 👍🏽
is this the Indigo blue colour that is rare on a mk4?
whats the colour code name of it.
Hey, I dont think this is a rare colour as I've seen plenty. Are you from the UK? The colour paint code is LB5N but yes it is Indigo Blue
@@SPOOLINUP no im from the netherlands. indeed the LB5N is seen much but isnt the indigo blue a rare colour? or i must be mistaken with the colour i have in my mind. i have seen a colour its like blue and navyblue on a r32 once in a lifetime and i thought it was named indigo.
I think that indigo blue is rare on an R32, ive never seen one in person, most are reflex silver or deep blue but it is a nice colour either way!
@@SPOOLINUP Yes correct. I have seen a picture of an R32 with the color indigo blue, which is lighter in the sun than in the shade. I think that confused me. I go for the Indigo blue on my car, I don't know when but I think this color is very brilliant and beautiful after washing
@@kxczilla7665 I searched for ages to find a second hand R32 bumper in indigo blue and it was impossible so bought a replica one. I washed the car the other day and it literally looked amazing dry or wet it is just lovely. I'm glad you agree 👍🏽
00:16 Those arms Bro!
Smaller now due to gyms being shut 🤣🤣
@@SPOOLINUP I doubt it you look great
Thank you bro! Means a lot 👍🏽👍🏽

So the bumper came from Ebay man came colour coded too and there is a second video where I actually fit it properly. Let me see if I can get a link

Sweet mate sounds wicked! That was my plan mate to buy a Gti for under £1000 and have a budget toy. I woukd say exhaust on a budget....just find a second hand one on facebook maybe mate that might be your best bet!! Thank you also man im glad you have been inspired and enjoy the videos. Good luck to you with that motor 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
@@SPOOLINUP nice one, honestly top guy , wish you the best and hope this channel blows👊🏽
@@aak9042 Thank you so much bro, I appreciate that a lot you know. Its nice of you!! 👊🏾👊🏾
Get the mesh black but still nice job
Yes mate, will be getting it sprayed when I get the bumper trimmed for the intercooler.
@@SPOOLINUP you having pipes either side ? Showing
No man I will be concealing them behind the bumper if I can, I think its best. What do you think?
@@SPOOLINUP me to currently trying to do that with mine and same bumper but trying to get it behind the crash bar , looking at taking out air con rad , but tbh I didn’t do the pipe work so I’m just working around it but let me know how you get on any tips would help
I know there are people out there that make custom piping or you can get it made to fit. I am probably going to buy an airtec kit which comes to fit behind the bumper.
🤠👍🏼
Finally a MK4 video for you 🤣

You are welcome mate, thanks for the comment 👍🏽

Sorry mate?
@@SPOOLINUP i wasnt complaining but good video and the new bumper looks mint
@@cozzie6777 Thats ok mate, no problem at all and thanks for your comment. I was unsure of what you were trying to say, do you mean the video looks stretched? I have a second part to thr video where it actually fits properly.
