Watch to learn how to make Hot & Iced Caramel Macchiato:
INGREDIENTS for 1 serving:
For Caramel Sauce (makes about ¼ cup)
* 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
* 2 tbsp. water
* 1/2 tbsp. cream
* 1/2 tbsp butter
* Salt, to taste
For Macchiato
* 1 cup hot Nestle Fresh Milk
* 1 tbsp. NESCAFÉ GOLD
* 2 tbsp. hot water
* 2 tbsp. caramel sauce
PROCEDURE:
Caramel Sauce:
* In a small pan over medium heat, add sugar and water.
* Cook without stirring until the sugar is dissolved, then let boil until sauce is thick with a dark amber color.
* Remove pan from heat then immediately add in cream and butter.
* Whisk until combined then season with salt to taste.
* Set aside until ready to use.
Iced Caramel Macchiato:
* Put caramel sauce at the bottom and sides of the cup
* Fill the cup with ice
* Dissolve NESCAFÉ GOLD in hot water, then pour into the cup
* Pour 1 cup of milk
* Drizzle drink with caramel sauce
* Optional: top it off with whipped cream!
* Enjoy!

It don't take long to explain how to make coffee. She gave us the caramel, the hot coffee and iced coffee in under 2 minutes. To be honest 5 minutes ain't bad as long as they get to the point.

This also works amazingly with espresso too - I made the caramel syrup and added it to a nespresso shot and milk, and it made the BEST caramel latte/ macchiato, highly recommend trying it!
For non dairy/ vegans:
I can’t have dairy so I just used dairy free/plant butter and the thick part of canned coconut milk instead of cream and it was so good! ( i don’t think it’ll work with regular drinkable coconut milk you find with the almond/ soy milk etc as it’s not thick enough)

Coffee is fine during pregnancy, in moderation
My pregnancy is extremely high risk and I’m on bed rest. Coffee is safe during pregnancy but not in my case. Even decaf is not allowed in my case 😕

I want to ask, what kind of cream I need to use for making this caramel sauce? I never make this kind of sauce before, so...I'm kind a bit curious too.
Just buy some caramel syrup for Starbucks. They sell it for P165 ($4) per bottle. But any caramel syrup from the grocery store should work too.
That's what I was asking as well. Is it like evaporated milk or creamer?

I'm a bit late but double cream as it's referred to in the UK i think that's heavy cream in the US
