When you finally said she could, she kept a eye on Bernadette as well, smart girl Luci. Remember Rhett, “don’t forget the calf”🤣 Take care & cheers🐨🦘🥰
Enjoyed seeing this video. Perfect timing for you to capture.
AWESOME thank you so much for sharing this precious moment
Congratulations, awesome video! I've had to assist twice, one time one leg was back and the shoulder was hitting the pelvic bone. Had to push the calf back in, pull the leg into correct position, and she was able to birth the calf. Seems like the least stressful birth are the ones we just miss.
YEAH! new baby! how cute!
That's a good looking baby there.
This was a beautiful video. Love seeing God's circle of life in action.
Life is so precious what a beautiful baby

Ino she swollen and all that little one needs that good clostridium well I'm sure u did . Y'all stay safe , stay healthy always make it fun Love from Tucson Arizona 💗🦎🌵🌻🦉👩🌾🌵🦎💗
A beautiful site!!!
Walking during labor, helps you move abdominal muscles which help to stimulate uterine contractions. She's tied to the wall & cannot walk, as she was before...
Now, I want to move that halter rope off of her left eye...
Love how she's turning her head, while you're coaching her "PUSH, PUSH'...
Who was the cow moo-ing?...
I remember that feeling of the 10 cm dilation with my baby's head filling the entire opening.... yep, Semi truck with trailer coming out sideways!!!
How cute.. one step forward and two steps back 😄..Pretty baby ...
Great video brother,congratulations…
Congrats to everyone!
New life is amazing
Super video!
Anna and Lucy makes
LANA!!!❤️
So happy Bernadette had a Heifer! She is beautiful! Is she dark red or will she be a brown color? Halley is going to love her lil sister. Love Bernadette. She is such a good sweet momma! Congrats Rhett! Do we have anymore baby's to look forward to this year?
Amazing the gift of life - Jack - London UK 🇬🇧
Congratulations!!! I would have put the towel under her body or aleast under her head. Anyway great job Rhett. Soo happy everything came out great. It is always beautiful to have new life on the farm. Especially a productive registered female. Love watching your videos.
Getting to clean her where the shavings were... not so much!
Even, the grass, where she was last birth was cleaner & didn't stick to the calf...
She looked like she'd been bathed in a tub of molasses!!!
Am excited for y'all.
Especially a birth in this heat!!! Whew!.
Yes, keeping the shavings off of the newborn probably would have been a better idea...noticing Bernadette didn't lack her where the shavings were stuck to her newbor calf... yuck!
Why no clean straw under the baby?guess I am not a farm girl, lol
Just wondering do animals feel the pain in childbirth like humans do? Congratulations on new baby girl. It is so amazing to watch. TFS.
Congratulations 🎉 Burnadette on another Heifer Coo. Hallie has a baby sister. A "Bridgette" perhaps ... Brett congratulations on growing the herd. They are awesome. Waiting for Fred to expand Chad's 🤭
Heifer calf makes the AI venture ever so worthwhile. Calf maybe almost your darkest. Congrats Rhett.
Well, you have Penny, Bernadette... Now you need an "Amy Farrah Fowler"... or Amy for short... 😁😎
Congratulations to the neu baby hiland 🐮cow enjoying his new life i am so happy for her 🎉😊😊🎉🎉🎉 congratulations
Beautiful Heeland coo and calf....
Awesome video! I was pushing for her! Lol, I subscribed to your channel, I've heard of your channel from others I watch. Might have been Walker Farm Fam, not sure.
Cool video!Thanks
Such a sweet thing that’s happening here. The man and this highland cow have such a connection. It was also so lovely to have the little girl (who I assume is his daughter) present. It obviously was a wonderful experience for her.
I’ve never seen a highland cow giving birth so I don’t understand a few things. What was the name of the monitor that predicted labor (Mo ?). Where was the monitor placed? Why was the chain used? Wouldn’t pulling be just as effective?
Calibrating motor controller and balance system takes a bit of trial and error. The nourishment guidance is at a peak right off the start..
Great step forward, the wait is over.
Looking forward to next status update.....
Why do you not have straw on the ground? Is it because of the drought you're low on straw or hay for the baby to be born into a clean place?? When you were pulling on the Cavs front legs, I would have suggested more of a downward pull Instead of straight out this helps relieve the pressure on the calf as he passes through the pelvic opening. There is more room downward then there is upward. I work delivery sweet, who I met my husband as a medical student before we had cattle. And this was about the only thing I was told about the cyst thing at a cows birth
That’s a huge calf
What is your plan on fly strike prevention for the sweet little girl?
Awwwww you should call her Holly so Bernadette has a Halle and a Holly and next heifer could be Hailey. Lol. Any boys can be Holland, Hollis, Hal
Morgan of gold shop farms has four heifers one more and I believe a steer that he just purchased in the last year or more that our Irish Highlander and the heifers were all pregnant when he purchased them. Everyone of those heifers gave birth without any help. In fact he kept going out to the barn or the Paddock, to watch to see if they were going to need help…He knew they were getting close and he would go back in the house and come back a couple hours later and the baby calf would be Born without any help from him… two of the heifers were idiom brown and they had black babies… It got cold and snowed and the two black heifers gave birth to medium or chocolate brown calves also without any help from him. He was quite surprised they were all first time mothers!!!We had dairy cattle that were Holsteins initially and later we switched to Jersey and brown Swiss and I know that some of them had to be pulled. You just don’t know which ones need help and which ones don’t. I’ve been watching a RUclips site that is all black Angus and they have to help some of them deliver as well intrigue it be interesting to know what their percentages because I’m guessing 15 to 20%!… that’s just my guess. I know that it’s not worth losing a calf
Over insisting on the Cal doing it herself and calf die inside her because it’s in the wrong position or she’s a young cow and doesn’t know what she’s doing or she’s just having a hard labor.
Women are all different and sore animals. I had an easy pregnancy super healthy no problems play tennis clear up to the week before my son was born no morning sickness I mean ZERO Issues and when my water bowl I still didn’t have any pain my husband was in medical school and he just left 30 minutes before my water broke and I was getting ready for work… Yes I was still working two jobs… When I called him to say my water had broke and what did you want me to do, LOL when I look back on it I should’ve known what I needed to do?…. But mostly I was asking him did he want to come back and pick me up or did he want to meet me at the hospital which he said I absolutely could not do! And then he picks me up in a 64 Dodge dart souped up with super shocks and we had the bounciest ride all of the way to the Hosp and I remember asking him are you purposely hitting every single pot hole in the streets ? Anyway we get to the hospital and I’m still not having any contractions and we get checked in to a room and then suddenly I go from no contractions too hard labor. I had done all the Lamaze classes so I was supposedly prepared but it’s not the same when You have nothing to prepare you for The type of hard labor I was having and it was horrible and about six hours into it the doctor said this babies coming fast and he’s going to be here in a matter of two hours as I was already dilated to seven and then everything started doing wrong and I was walking up and down the hallway without realizing but my husband dead I was leaving a trail of blood behind me hello this came with towels rolled up and I was to put them between my legs and continue walking for as long as I could stand it until the doctor insisted I get in bed on my side and wear two managers… One for me and one for the babies heart and they realize very quickly he was in distress when in a matter of an hour and a half I was told that I would have to have a C-section and I refused.!! After all, oh I had a perfect pregnancy; I want five days a week; I played tennis the entire pregnancy; I worked two jobs; I was super pregnant Woman….And they weren’t going to cheat me out of having a natural births but within an hour the doctors told me did I want a natural childbirth was a deformed baby OR did I want my beautiful baby who would be perfect through a C-section?? And before I could answer the OB/GYN and the pediatrician said get this girl into OR. Things happen so fast after that when I was put to sleep and when I finally woke up and they took me to see my baby, they were right, and I will never forget the sight of that beautiful beautiful baby and I made a connection and he looked at my eyes and I looked at his eyes and I was in love and that’s all that matters because he was the most perfect shape round face brown eyed baby and healthy with 10 fingers & 10 toes (in a perfect Apgar cast according to Dr. Daddy😊♥️)
So, I understand why farmers use chains to assist to assist the cows what’s the delivery so they have beautiful calves which are alive❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️♥️♥️
Rhett..do Highland ever have twins and do they both survive?
New to the channel and this was Beautiful to see 🥰 But I have a question..... why let the calf be born and drop in the dirt and poop? No straw or hay? I don't know your background so I'm not judging it's a serious question 🙂
(I've had both cows, pigs, lambs, goats and horses so I'm not a city girl)
That’s a good question. There actually was both grass and straw on the other side of the pen. When I started to help I should have moved her, but I overlooked it.
@@100AcreWoodHighlands Thank's for the answer 🙂👍 I understand, sometimes one get so caught up in the moment so that everything else get forgotten 🥰
I get so tickled at people trying to deliver, calves, colts, lambs, etc. telling the animals to "push". I don't think they understand....lol That is an adorable calf. I think this breed is beautiful, but I'm not a fan of the horns.
