Are you able to adjust manifold pressure during level flight? It may help get the speed you want without giving more throttle. There should be some sort of info on how much boost to use vs how much throttle. Fuel conservation is a must on long flights. "Unless you like being fished out of the drink!" And no external tanks, and no way for inflight gas stations means, fuel is even more important! So as you fly along, you can only hope the mission planners had everything covered for the mission, including the fuel...
You adjust manifold pressure by changing the power and prop pitch settings as well as the supercharger stage. So, yeah. Don't matter on a 45 minute flight, though.

yes, not everyone and not all the time but they certainly did it and theres several reasons, better visibility is a first, better odds of bailing out too, and in case of a ditching in water less chance of the canopy getting jammed and the pilot drowning, it was a standard practice too on carrier take off and landing as it provided better visibility and of course an escape route if things went bad.

Hey Fishyy I've downloaded IL2 GE with BAT, and it works well, but my water comes up with wierd dark blue splotches all over it. I have carsmaster mod, and I've tried disabling etc, but it makes no difference. I can't find an answer on the SAS forum so I don't know what to do, any recommendations?
Did you set water=0 in conf.ini? I freaking despise BAT and I don't want to give technical advise on how to use that giant pile of garbage. We use ypack for a reason and I don't know stuff in BAT.

We are using our own AI mod now, this mission will not function without it. The AI mod has only been tested in Ypack, I don't think it will run in anything else, but it might. Who knows?

Thought the Japanese surrendered in 1945? Why are you attacking an airfield in 1946, or have missed something? Since when did the US Navy utilize rage F4U off flat tops, as the Corsair’s had numerous issues landing back on the flat tops. And weren’t the Marines were the primary users of the Gull Wing Corsairs in the Pacific theatre?

I have an stupid question can you fly an plane with keyboard or do you need an joystick?
You can fly with a keyboard, but a joystick is preferable. Get an Extreme 3D, they go for around 50 bucks.
