Fishyyy flies an F4U-1D Corsair over the Philippines Islands in '44. We were unable to record this succesfully with the crew, so I did it alone.

Excellent video Fishyyy, to bad the crew couldn't take part. Sound effects seemed different especially the guns. I have a few questions, and observations if I may.
Q1 inbound air attack at take off (no intercept)?
Q2 were those IJN or IJA fighters?
Q3 straight in landing approach?
O1 50% fuel at take off over water, brave but effective.
O2 Pappy Boyington told his pilots to never follow a Zero into a cloud, it would be on your tail on the other side.
O3 on your 4th attack (2nd splash) I think, that Corsair pilot gave you a middle finger salute (probably).
O4 I see your gunnery has improved (not);D

Are the multiplayer servers still running with enough people still playing this? If so I might just jump back in. We've not had a good pacific theatre represented yet in any recent iteration of IL2

Even the best pilots sometimes miss the easiest shots
when you think about it. Japan using the Zero in 1944 is like Germany using the Bf 109E-4 model in 1944 (meaning the engine was around 1175hp when the Americans/British had 2000hp radial engines with the P-47). I wish there was a way to read old Japanese records of what the higher ups thought of Allied planes with such powerful engines

@@Fishyyy 0 o F, I only ask cuz I used to have VP mod but after moving to my new PC i couldn't get it to work, also if that last bit is true then i guess I'm getting ypack
Yes, it is true. When we have new people asking to fly with us, we make them install the mod on their own. Experience has shown that people, who are unable to install ypack by themselves, are most likely unable to contribute anything usefull. We tried it the other way, we did try to help people with everything, but it just does not work. We cannot spend hours and hours on explaining basic stuff to people, who then end up being bad pilots. We are looking for experienced and able pilots. We are only flying to create videos, anybody who wants to participate has to be good.
@@Fishyyy well I look forward to getting in on some of the action, since my german friend got a new PC I've had nobody to play IL-2 1946 with, although BoS/BoM/BoK/BoBp, is nice 1946 has great variety, also I wish to apologise for asking about the mod, most of the other 1946 youtubers I've seen aren't considerate enough to put them in the description, that was just my fault for not checking.
