- We’re capping a few weeks of travel through Europe that have included visits to the captivating Christmas markets of Florence, Milan, Paris, and Munich. But our final leg of the trip is ditching the holiday theme and focusing on family adventures through the Eternal City of Rome. My mission is to give our kids the most authentic Roman experience Vat-I-Can-by taking them through a colosseum worth of sites and bites in just 4 days. There’s a lot to squeeze in, so let’s put our big boy pantheon-and start devouring.

ABOUT US
We’re the Lockwoods. And we’re traveling the world to experience-up close and in person-all the natural wonders and distinct cultures that our kids would otherwise be consuming only through textbooks and TV. We think it’s a better way to learn and we’re working hard to fund this little experiment in the hope that our kids will grow up wiser, kinder, and more grateful for the beauty of our diverse planet and its people.
I'm really amaze with your positivity and how your family handled some inconvenience along your travels.
Thank you 😊 we appreciate that! You’ve got to roll with the punches when you travel 👍🏻
Love your stylish apartment! What a lovely place to stay in Rome! I have heard wonderful things about Riscoli too. Can't wait to go there myself. So much amazing food, culture and beauty in Rome! Italy is undefeated!!❤
Best part about our apartment was the location. We could walk to pretty much everything! Roscoli absolutely lived up to its reputation 😋
I was wounding when Brooke would realize that she was about to lose her Ice cream. Lol, I’m glad she didn’t lose it!!😊
Haha! We caught it just in time 😆
beautiful apartment !!! unfortunately the weather wasn't nice but your family made the BEST out of it .
Weather can’t slow us down 😉. In some ways it was helpful because it made it less crowded.
For my first trip to Rome as a teenager, I used Roman Holiday as my way to connect to the city. When I got back from my trip, me and my friends who went on the trip with me watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade on opening day. When it got to the parts when they were in Venice we all started reminiscing in the theater about the locales we had just been to. Movies are a great way to connect you to places.
We agree! Movies were such a big part of my (Erin) childhood. I can connect with anything through a movie 🤗
Rome is magnificent from infrastructures to foods. Very impressive. Your narration is eloquent and so informative but the blooper at the end made me really laugh😂
Thank you! LOL, I love hearing that people laugh at the bloopers. I think life is so much more fun when you can make fun of yourself :)
@@AlwaysBeChangingHi there Erin I’m watching some of your old videos. I discovered your channel when you first landed in the Philippines. I just wonder which places you’ve been to and see other wonders of the world thru your eyes. I love the bloopers, too.😂😂😂 watching from LA, CA. I also watch your Q&A before you went to Italy and Rome. I hope you’ll have another Q&A.
Go to ILOILO PHILIPPINES this January 20 to 24 for DINAGYANG FESTIVAL ❤🎉
Nice place to relax after a long day
We loved that apartment. Felt like a part of history to stay in while exploring so much history in the city.
Love your videos along with your excitement for each new place.
🙏 that makes us happy. Thanks!
Costa Rica present :)
You guys are amazing
Thanks! We’re hoping to get back to CR soon 😊
I wish I knew you guys when I went to Rome I was just a month ago. Love Rome. Have fun and be safe..✌️👏❤️
Well I hope we make it back. Rome is so full of amazing history!
Your website is really helpful on planning our next trip! Thank you!
That's great! We're so happy it's been helpful for you :)
Off-season travel has it's own perks... I like visiting places without the crowds and the high prices and lineups they often bring... thanks for showing us Rome... I've never been, but I'd go just to try that sandwich haha. Blessings fam!
The sandwich alone would be worth it. But the history there is overwhelming. We hope you go see it for yourself someday soon! 🙏
will definitely make use of your travel guides this year. :) FOOOD!!!!!!
We hope you do! Let us know if they’re helpful 😊
The apartment is beautiful
Wow! why I didn´t have parents like you?!!! btw Rome + Rain = ❤ the perfect wather.
It was great because most places were less crowded. It meant more for us too see 😊
No luck from the Trevi Fountain. Supposedly you're meant to use your right hand and toss it over your left shoulder. That's what the locals told us when we were there.
Super interesting! Thank you-
Happy New Year!!!
When in Rome / Italy you can never go wrong eating pasta and more pasta . I can imagine how delicious those pasta are. I have tasted a homemade pasta of a neighbor ( they are American/ Italian) and they are really good. Thanks for sharing, looking forward for more uploads 😊
Happy New Year and thank you! There’s nothing like pasta in Italy and it was exceptionally good in Rome ❤️ 🍝
Youre 4 are great storytellers! I just discovered the channel and i catching up! Congrats. Great product.
Thank you! So happy you found our channel 😊
you guys went in winter/rainy season - you need to go back in the Summer and do videos on Amalfi, Sorrento, Tropea, etc,,..
The rain at least helped with the crowds. We can’t wait to come back! Amalfi coast is a must for us 😊
Lovee the food scenes
Thank you for that
Thank you for watching 😊
I just want to go eat a big bowl of pasta now. 🤣 While the rain isn't ideal, I can't believe you got to walk through St Peter's square and see the nativity scene virtually by yourselves!! So cool❤
Us too! I want to eat pasta in Rome three times a day :)
I love your Rome vlog, that pasta looks so nice, you are very informative and that makes an amazing vlog and the pasta has those Italian names
Thank you! 🤗 So happy you liked it!
Mi spiace che voi americani non conosciate la pasta, e che credete che le fettuccine di Alfredo siano il top!😂
E soprattutto noi conosciamo la musica americana e britannica, voi non conoscete quella italiana
Hi guys happy new year stay safe wonderful video as always☔☔☔☔
Happy New Year 🥳 Thank you 🙏
9:07 fun fact a lot of those things you saw in that movie were filmed on a sound stage because Rome wouldn't let them film there
That makes sense. Too many logistics with the historical buildings, tourists and businesses.
It’s too Cold right Now in Europe, Actually Every County in Europe Nice Videos guys Thanks For Sharing Your European Vacations ✌️👌👍👍👍💕
Thank you! As much as we love Europe, we’re looking to get back to some tropical weather
I actually seem to taste that sandwich that Cole bit into...hmmm!
It was so good!
Yeah and now im in Rome as well all the way from Philppines and thailand 😆😆😆😆😆
Yay 👏🏼 Happy travels! I hope you have a great trip!
If you want to try the best food in Italy you have to go south: Puglia, Sicily, Naples! Your videos are fantastic! Keep come back in Italy!
Thank you! Out of all those Puglia has interested us the most! We also know we have to try Naples and Sicily too. I know we’ll make it everywhere eventually 😊. Thanks for watching us.
Hi !! I hope you travel to Madrid, i recommend you Restaurante Sobrino de Botín, the oldest in the World. It's not a turist trap, the food is outstanding
Madrid is on our list. It’ll be such a great follow up to our Barcelona trip!
I love ur all vlogs but I think many people are more interested to watch ur vlogs if u are in the Philippines. I’ve seen from many vloggers they visited many beautiful spots there. Maybe u can go back to Cebu and go to Oslob swimming w/ whales, Moalboal Canyooneering, & Daanbantayan Island
sir/mam hope that you can join to celebrate chinese new year in philippines..lot of fun on this event..stay safe always and god blessed your family..
We’re so excited to be in the Philippines soon!
Yay to anotehr episode of ABC! :)
Thanks for watching! 🤗
Why does he look Middle Eastern?
This guy's wife's eyes are intense she doesn't blink 😳. His voice is more for videos it's easier to listen to.
We appreciate you watching. My eyes and voice are the only ones I've got. :) But I agree, my husband's voice is easy to listen to.
@@AlwaysBeChanging well it definitely wasn't any shade there I just wish you could relax a bit and tell us what you're doing in the video that's all. And blink for goodness sakes
He mispronounced Baroque, and no one said anything 😂.... Next scene he is correcting his wife 😂 hilarious.
Phil correcting Erin is a recurring bit. It's every episode. 😄
