Taking into account the news and official accounts that just about everyone in Kentucky is being forcefully fenced in, everybody with a brain ABSOLUTELY went to get guns.
I think the areas in b42 addition had a little more time to prepare as they were outside of the original quarantine zone. In echo creek there was a run on guns, or the government was handing them out to lined up civilians, when they passed out together from the airborne strain and turned en masse
The fictionalized setting of project zomboid is roughly in the area of the real world Jefferson County where real world Louisville exists. with about 772k total people living there, 600k of which living in louisville, we've got an estimate of somewhere around 120,000 people 95% of which were infected with the airborne strain alone, so generously 6000 survivors that didn't immediately turn (not accounting for people who would be bitten immediately) In my first run into Guns Unlimited with Normal pop, Low Initial and High end final population i went to the store within a day and fought so many zomboids that I said fuck it and turned on cheats just to see how many there were. By the time I cleared out the showrooom, JUST the showroom, with more trailing in from the sounds of fighting I had killed ~630 zomboids. Again, just the showroom. With noclip and invisible on I saw easily another 300 worth of shamblers out back in the kill house, training course and proper shooting range. If we go with the idea that people flooded this one gun store after the infections began that would imply that around 1/6th of the surviving people all made it this far and then suddenly up and died inside, the poplulation of this location is *insane*
I found it pretty typical to kill several hundred per neighborhood block with my friend. I had a character with several thousand kills in just 3 months of gameplay and we had not even put a dent in the rosewood hoards. I'm glad in 42 they will stop putting more zombies in the woods and fields outside of towns than in the towns proper.
pretty much what i did but i used a cop car sirens and brought them all to the bottom of the shooting range on the bottom left of the compound, was able to loot it all after doing that like 3-4 times
Apparently everyone in Echo Creek went to the gun store…
Whan zombie appocalyspe starts: Step 1 - get GUNS
A pretty valid assumption to be fair
