+MrJingles75 It's kind of sad that people want to chuck out George Lucas because of the prequels (which weren't as bad as many say, just not focused and the decay of the Republic wasn't as well demonstrated as it could have been). People forget that Star Wars was his idea, that Vader ended up looking the way he did because Lucas fell in love with the look of McQuarrie's helmeted version of his villain.
+MrColuber The opinion is shifting on Lucas now that TFA came out. Fans are starting to give him credit for all he did to shape the series, which is nice to see.
People forget that Ralph`s concepts for StarWars came from the mix of both Ralph and George´s talents, This was the world George had in his mind, and McQuarrie interpreted it, George was impressed with Ralph´s previous work and this leaded to that colaboration, Lucas told McQuarrie about what star wars was and using his amazing gift he created visually what George was envisioning, McQuarrie said that himself. He managed to put in colors what George was describing to him, Ralph/George was an amazing and magical symbiosis, this concepts may never get to life without one of this two amazing geniouses.
Absolute legend. It's so cool to see some of his designs and concepts still being utilised in the shows and movies today. Fun fact, the Tusken Raider artwork at 0:43 has been recreated identically into live action in the Book of Boba Fett series. Truly amazing artist...ahead of his time.
1:39 Thats Rako Hardeen from Clone Wars! Now that I'm looking at Ralph's work because I heard that the design of the Stormtroopers in the recent Bad Batch episode are based on his work, I'm realizing there are a lot of references to his work sprinkled in the animated shows!
I started drawing from staring for hours over the Star Wars Ralph McQuarrie portfolio I had as an 8 year old. I am so down with these lines. Thank you!
It was Ralph McQuarrie's works that Lucas used to get the money and convinced other artists (animators, prop creators, etc) to work in Star Wars. Star Wars is HIS vision.
I would buy this as a box set if all three came together at once without having to wait a year for each. Besides, it would be cool to see these three in a really cool box that opened up with a McQuarrie art background for display.
I would like to have a site where I can either view or download every piece of concept art for the films instead having to search the internet for barley any
Ralph McQuarrie concept for Vader, Boba Fett, and The Stormtroopers are WAY cooler than what we got. I love the looks we got for Darth Vader and Boba Fett does look cool too. but damn...they look Way Scarier in McQuarrie Art.
I find it interesting that this Darth Vader has his left arm extended and his left hand in the position as if he is doing a force move, choke, etc... This Darth Vader wasn't a sith lord. He was just a man. In the early screenplays and even writing about the early conceptualization of Darth Vader, he only wore the mask to go into space. In the original McQuarrie painting, Luke is even wearing a respirator. It seems this sculpture is inaccurate to the original idea of Darth Vader.
Ralph McQuarrie and John Williams are the beating heart of Star Wars.

+MrJingles75 - don'r forget, now Director Joe Johnston too :).

MrJingles75 Absolutely!!

That's pretty awesome. Everything we love started from someone's imagination. Great to see that getting recognized.
Really great to see McQarrie's art again. His concepts are what we all love to see on the big screen. And the Sideshow figures look amazing.
I see that Star Wars rebels is drawing heavily upon the McQuarrie art.
And it sucks.
How could people dislike this? This man's work is GREATNESS (for lack of a better word)
Both of the McQuarrie Vaders look pretty neat; would be nice if they kept one of them in.
Well Vader's design in Rebels is based the McQuarrie concept art.
I like the one that has a more militaristic helmet and a single visor, reminds me of how Vader was originally called *General Vader*
THANK YOU, They murdered vaders original design
Man what a Phenomenal artist
Sold. Absolutely love Ralph's work. Can't wait for these. Only issue is statues or 12" figures as I can't afford both
This is 8 hours too short. :(

2:53 The second Helmet is used in some of Lego Star wars set Boxes and Star wars Rebels Vader design
I love the Vader helmet design with the curved mouth grill
I love how they used the stormtrooper design on the bad batch early stormtroopers
I started drawing from staring for hours over the Star Wars Ralph McQuarrie portfolio I had as an 8 year old. I am so down with these lines. Thank you!
It would be really cool if they released LEGO sets based on Ralph's work.
So great. Fully realized versions of concept sketches.
Rebels is 90% Ralph concept Art..... learn something kid
Thank you
Darth Vader
and it looks childish awful in that art direction for that show. It should have done in a better way.
@@Gadget-Walkmen ... it's a kids show. it's supposed to look childish, lol.
@@egel7736 there are other kids shows that have better art styles and art direction.
Cannot wait for these to be available. Bravo for the idea and keeping to something Ralph would have loved.
Such a underrated artist, doesnt get nowhere near enough credit fro his influences on Starwars and Star Trek especially.
Please take all of my money now PLEASE!
Love the 3D renditions of McQuarrie's work in the first half of the vid.
It was Ralph McQuarrie's works that Lucas used to get the money and convinced other artists (animators, prop creators, etc) to work in Star Wars. Star Wars is HIS vision.
Great stuff honoring Ralph's work!!!
Very good! I love Ralph McQuarrie's art!
Amazing that how all this stuff was done in the pre digital era. Still used as reference for new Star wars movies and series
I would buy this as a box set if all three came together at once without having to wait a year for each. Besides, it would be cool to see these three in a really cool box that opened up with a McQuarrie art background for display.
Star Wars was George Lucas's idea
But it was also Ralph McQuarrie's vision
I love concept art its awesome
Thank you!
Someone knows why Vader looks articulate on video but what's on market it's statue ?? Or there's other version??
EVERYTHING Star Wars should look like an original Ralph McQuarrie painting.
Wow! I really hope there's gonna be an H.R Giger series too.
This video was great and the pieces look like they're gonna be awesome!
Really looking forward to the Sixth Scale Boba Fett Figure
Hi ! May i use some extract of your video for mine ? You'll be credited and I'll share your channel at the end.

The original idea of Darth Vader was a Sith Knight.
amazing!
P E R F E C T !!!
Really nice
Please hurry and finish the 1/6 Vader
It’s an instant buy for me
Looks to me that in the case of the new tie fighter pilots that they did go back to these drawings and use bits, shapes and design.
Awesome
Amazing
They're so sheltered they think regular folks don't know what a concept artist is and that Ralph McQuarrie is "unsung."
Absolutely wonderful, it's Star Wars when Star Wars was....Star Wars and not the wretched crap that it has become today.
Max Brandt mandalorian 👀
What happened to 1/6 scale of this line
what is the music used during the vid?
It's purty......
+JohnnyV83 it sounds like explosions in the sky
I am still waiting for that 1/6 Darth Vader :(
still waiting for the sixth scale vader Mc Quarrie................
Still waiting
Rako Hardeen's armor is just Ralph McQuaries Boba Fett.
Where’s 1/6 VADER?!?
These limited edition sculpts are cool. Too bad Sideshow doesn't like making money and only made a tiny few to sell.
Shouldn't Ralph have got merchandise money? He all but invented every Star Wars icon!
Guess the 1/6 Vader will never be released?
guess not
Loopooolo
Please no to this 1/6th scale B.S.
If your going to attempt Mcquarrie do it right!
Non posable, Quarter scale. Do the man justice please!!
