Yeah I always have for some reason. It's like I'm leaving a signature on the box, or something. Funny story, I bought a very well used Wild Dagger a couple years ago, the inside of the box lid was covered in paint, just as I do. It was pretty cool, hit home, made the kit feel more special to me. 🤣
One more thing I do especially when using metallic paint is to leave the window masks on and back spray the inside with silver it cleans up the inside and makes the blue less transparent. Also spray the inside of the fenders black as you can see them when you are runnin er!!!! It's the third time I've watched but as all your videos they are very helpful! Ralphie
Thanks brother! The weather gods are keeping me indoors these next few days, hopefully the rain let's up and I can get a good running video for you guys. Thanks for watching! 🤙

Outlining in black is a good idea. Love ps 16 blue. Everytime I paint a body I want to do them that color. Have to force myself towards other colors so they don't all look the same. Lol
Oh wow, thanks Chris! I feel bad sometimes when I make a video this long (RUclipsrs seem to watch 3:00 - 5:00 min videos) but I enjoy going into great detail, it has merit and sometimes people (like myself) need to see an action carried through to fully understand how it works. @@poorboysrc yeah I was thinking maybe a BZ for the avante and already have a new gt tuned for the top force. I also just picked up a nova fox and egress.. think I’m tryin to work my way through your wall of boxes behind you 👍🏻👍🏻
Good video Phil - not been brave enough to try the scoring method myself yet, but that'll come! It sure looks effective. Worth mentioning that I recently did a Tamiya Subaru Impreza rally (the '99 one) and that of course is in PS16 too - it is a colour that looks pretty transparent, even after what seems like enough coats, but when its backed with another colour (I went with a silver to bring the metallic look forward) that doesn't matter and it looks great. Stay excellent, my friend!
Hey James, thanks for watching, pal! 👊 Yeah it seems backing the blue with silver is definitely the way to go. I should do a comparison video with some spare lexan... that would be interesting... Have a great weekend brother! 🤙
Yes to doing the black lines around the Windows, I think that would make it really pop.. I am still waiting on my TD4 to turn up so it was good to see how you have done the body and what's involved as it not something I really like doing.. For that paint bleed I have found using a q tip from Tamiya that is molded and has a good point on the end really helps with the clean up. The body is looking really good 👍
It's cool to see you using the razor blade technique. I never heard of this till recently if you can believe it. I will have to try this on two I have sitting in the garage. It came out AWESOME!!! Great job brother!!!👍👍👍
I've done it in the past and didn't feel that it made a big difference. I didn't want too much paint built up around the edges of the clear viewing panels, I thought it might complicate things and potentially cause issues, so I kept my paint colours and layers to a minimum. 👊
@@poorboysrc yeh i wouldve backed the blue in white then done the yellow, then white. wouldn't have to need that many blue coats that way (~3). only about 1 coat of white each time you seal the color layer.
@@poorboysrc yeah usually with the metallic blues I use a blue or Silver backing, and with the yellow I use white to make it pop. Then to finish off the body I would back in black to avoid seeing colours through the cockpit windows.
