    That photo with the 55mm is fantastic. I love the nebulocity of the dust clouds. I miss that with my Redcat51 and zwo533. Well it is Christmas and I can hear a canon rf50 calling.

      I was surprised at how well that inexpensive 55-200 lens performed. It had plenty of issues for astro that required extra care during post processing but the end result was way better than expected!

    Being an amateur astrophotographer myself I just stumbled upon your channel and let me tell, you gained a new sub. Saw a bunch of videos already and they're AMAZING, from sheer direction quality to narration and info inside, they have it all. Hope to see you explode anytime, really! (ps: I still can't take a really good pic of the Pleiades personally, they look so mild but in reality they're so hard to get right)

    Hey Ian, I’ve learned so much from you. I’ve always loved Astrophotography and my Seestar purchase 4 months ago finally made getting into astrophotography easy! I’m now ready to build my first rig and move to the next steps. I watched your video about getting started and how important investing in a mount is. So I’m going to get the mount first! I’m looking into the sky adventurer GTI. I also have an DSLR already. I have the Fujifilm XT-3. I discovered your channel through your fujifilm Astro video. My question for you is the scope. Do you think the Askar 71F would be a good investment? Do you think I should consider another brand, like the red cat 51, like you have? I’d like to keep the scope under 1K and I was just curious which scope do you think is the best bang for your buck.

    • @ianlauerastro
      @ianlauerastro  18 дней назад +1

      The Askar is good as long as your setup weight is under the weight capacity of the GTI mount. I like the redcat because it has a wide field of view and is easy to start with, but it’s up to you because both scopes are great.

    • @dawsoncollins9368
      @dawsoncollins9368 18 дней назад

      @ don’t lie, you just like the redcat because of the cat logos hahaha. Thanks for your input though. Clear skies.

    Are these stories of the stars and the night sky where we got our curiosity for the night sky from now cus wow it’s so fascinating

    • @ianlauerastro
      @ianlauerastro  20 дней назад

      Humans have always had a fascination with the sky! It’s the origin of our ability to understand our passage of time - and it seems like our love of space is ingrained in our DNA from thousands of years of observing the sky :D

    • @annaoldfield2298
      @annaoldfield2298 20 дней назад

      @ it’s crazy that even though we’re a species that use money and have established an economy we still kept our fascination of the night sky and nothing has changed that. No matter how engrossed we get with power and money.
