- Charger SRT-8 6.1L V8 Hemi runs from police in a routine pullover. It wasn't long before that 6.1L SRT-8 was out of sight for the police pursuit! Everyone realize you can build a hellcat or demon out of the older chargers and dont want to pay 300 grand for a demon. Some forged internals in the 6.1 a turbo 400 automatic a ford 9 inch rear and decent suspension and decent break upgrade and you got a hellcat/demon🤷 depends on the route you go with supercharger or turbo. Personally I would choose centrifugal supercharger so i could run a decent front mount intercooler and still have the whining sound😃 provided you got car and can do most of the work 20-30 grand could build you an 8 second charger or challenger🤷

Ive outrun two state troopers in chargers in a stock manual transmission in 03 k24 4 cylinder accord with over 390,000miles on it on curvy roads where I might top 100mph😆🤣 those heavy cars can't eat the curve like a lighter car with almost same width tires🤷 I seen chase videos where suspect car pulls on cops in high speed turn but cop catches on straight. Just make sure you got about 5 miles of curvy road to disappear on😁

Would a srt8 beat a 392?
I've always loved the srt8's ever since i played need for speed hot pursuit, id genuinely take one over a scatpack lol. just something about the 2010 body styling really makes it feel like a muscle car
They're super rare now so I don't blame anyone for wanting it. Damn thing is like driving a unicorn now!

@@michaela6147 in an ideal situation where i got to pick between an srt8 which is literally a gen 1 392 vs a scatpack/modern 392, id choose the srt8. Alot more rare and i can appreciate its look more. Im more of a challenger guy so id want a challenger srt8. I recommend checking out srt_dave on yt
@@michaela6147not always about speed and look at how many scats, r/t, and cats are on the road. They are played out and everyone has one. And with that being said, I would take a boss 302 laguna seca over the s650 mustang. Everyone has preference, but seems like you follow the crowd. 🤷🏾♂️
The person in the blue challenger died from being ejected at 160 mph and that car was completely mangled.
If you watch the full video it takes officers a long time to find the person.He definitely didn’t get away.
That’s my understanding as well, I had seen the original video a couple weeks ago. The driver didn’t get away, he went away.
This reminds me of a couple of pursuits a few months ago. That’s when I learned that there is actually something dumber than running from the police.....which is running from the police without your seatbelts on. Tragic consequences.

It seemed as if the pursuit car had a 5.7L I've seen that take off to catch a vehicle before & at that time I'm like man the take off slow 😂 now that I have a A10 2020 Camaro it seems even slower but I learned my lesson from trying to run from the cops at the time I had a tuned A4 Audi the initial cop couldn't catch me but the radio did great work lol. No 🧢 so even though now I know I'm way faster than the police 🚓 I wouldn't try it.

Most of the 5.7 are basically asleep from factory compared to the other tw, but so much potential

You got to know how your vehicle handles before attempting a run like the Challenger
100% agree. Knowing the cars limitations is key to driving esp around corners etc.
@@RTLifethe problem with challenger or charger is they are too heavy to eat curves tough. Their tires will get to hot and give. if tried to push the rear tends to slide out. The problem is most cop chases the cop coast through curves pay more attention if you haven't noticed that
@@spankthemonkey3437 trying to run at night and turning off the highway set this evader up for a surprise curve. Running away is fraught with pitfalls.
@@markam306 that is why you know the road and know the average speed of the curves you can take just make sure you dont have switchback or s curves and you good🤷

New cops seem to be limited to around 150-153mph. Get a quarter mile jump on him travel 160- 170mph for a few miles then get off interstate and disappear.

Proud owner of a 2012 6.4L Chrysler 300. Been on the hunt for an older 300 with a 6.1 to play with. You know, since the Trackhawks are only getting more expensive 😒

You know what’s faster than any muscle car…..the cameras that got your license plate
And also mine i had it up to 165mph. All stock with just exhaust and cold air i built that only took air in down lown in the valance. No hot air from engine could get into system at all. It ran like i said a 12.8 at 110mph in 1/4mi at te track. Loved thst car.

@@RTLife just picked up a go pro max And a invisible trunk mount hopefully I can help provide some of that footage for ya im fbo rn everything but e85 been saving for a pro charger already got hellcat drive shaft rear cracked 3.70 rear gears cammed built internals on a tire hellcat oilpump and lifters all ready swapped on been giving these Michigan scats the gapple bees still trying to decide rather or not to pro charge or hellcat super charge with mmx mounting brackets seeing hellxat sc around for 1,800 -2500 compared to 6k for pro charger hc supercharger deff would be the cheaper route seeing how I would be doing everything except the tuning

My 06 SRT8 was fast as fk I had it up to 165mph and it ran 12.8 @ 110mph in the 1/4mi. I miss it so bad I paid cash for it and also a RT in 2006 and wish I kept them both. For both back in 06 it came out to around 86000$ cash and now just 1 cost that. Lol.
Was the charger stock ?
@@angelcuellar8691yes all I had done to it was exhaust and I made a cold air intake myself that ran down to the bottom valance and took the cold air in down there so it wasn't getting nothing but cold air.

After watching way too many pursuits (they are addictive), there seems to be 3 governor settings in ASP cars, 120, 150, and one in between. The 150s all seem to be chargers.
@@Chrysler_SoloBelieve it or not they don't remove the governor from cop cars + they don't need to since even the 5.7L Charger police package is slower than civilian models. Cops I know hardly get 140 out of a Charger and then most use V-6's

SRT-8 is no joke. Mine is a forged bottom end with stock heads and cam. Running low boost setting of 9psi and it's putting out 690hp / 732 tq. More torque than the hellcat.

Do what think about older Maserati cars Ferrari 4 .7 V8 engine, since Dodge and Chrysler still owns Ferrari and Maserati, Maserati discontinued 4.7 V8 engine, for the same 3.0 Hurricane I6 since 2020 , Maserati uses the technology as Dodge and Chrysler, my uncle passed away, gave four Door sedan Maserati two of them, I'm considering building SRT8 6.4 392 Hemi or regular Scat Pack 6.4 stock into building 1320 Scat Pack pro charger twin turbo for my two Maserati cars.

I am fairly sure that Challenger that crashed they found the body shortly after in the woods. He was ejected and found deceased.

These Challengers and charges are the vanishing point of all time. They need to come out with vanishing point three movie And don't forget the mercedes benz S 600 It's also a very fast car v12 twin turbo.
I haven't got to run a hellcat but all the N/A Dodges I race seem to run about the same. I don't see the 6.1 or others being much quicker than the 5.7
Emission standards did not end the Hemi powered L-body Mopar. The government did. Law enforcement agencies got tired of getting their asses handed to them. These cars are highly capable in the hands of the right driver.

thats an old VHS video. probably circa 2008? also we have seen this road in recent videos. its a highly enforced area. unless there is another that looks exactly like it.
The dashcam footage believe it or not said 2019. These dashcams are such old technology - most are 480p. guess the departments can't afford higher quality models
