Interesting how some stuff makes people feel nostalgic for stuff they never lived through. This is really good.
Thanks, this was one of my favorite songs from back then so I wanted to do something a little special with it ❤️
Relatable
It’s because life today compared to the 70’s and 80’s don’t really compare since they were somewhat a golden age for America

It was an incredible era and I miss it.
80’s kids will remember how lit these places were on the weekends.
As someone who was born in the early 2000s and seeing this kinds of arcades in movies or tv shows makes me wish I got to experience living this kind of life. Also 80/90s songs will always be great to listen to

As someone born in 1983, I got to experience the ending tail of the 80s and the entire of the 90s. And I miss those days so much it hurts. A lot.
Back then, we wondered about the future. Now, we want to go back to the past because the future is nothing like what we were promised. They promised us flying cars and robot butlers, but we got authoritarian governments and state surveillance.
Funny how 1984 came in the 2010s.
They promised flying cars and now we have sjw

Always loved the feeling of walking through a desolate place with someone while there is a big party nearby.
Yesss I love that feeling too! I felt it at almost all the bat mitzvahs I went to, when it was late at night and the music was blaring and all the people were so loud, and me and a friend or two would split off from the group and wander the venue looking at all the empty, unused rooms and the dark hallways, and we were always way overtired and high on sugar or caffeine so everything felt surreal... and then we would go back to the party room and powerwalk a little faster than we necessarily had to because the liminality of the space was getting to us, but we didn't know why because that was before that was even a thing. When we got back, everything was just as we left it; the music and people were just as loud and all the Shirley Temple cups and Hershey's kisses were strewn across the tables in the exact same way. But something still felt different. We could feel the dark, hollow walls of the surrounding building looming all around us, jealous of the liveliness of the room we were in and longing for the times when they were filled with people and noise, too. Okay maybe I got a little carried away there, but you get the point
Feels like I just woke up from a knockout and appeared in some 80s arcade after hours
This just makes me feel cozy and comfy, like this would be a safe place for my friends and I to go to on a rainy evening after school
I’m gonna be honest with you guys, everyone took normal life for granted. Normal life was from 1980-2010 in my whole hearted opinion. Everything is gone now it’s 2021, barely anymore shopping malls, no more arcades, no proper socializing, no respect, it’s all over folks……
you're scarily spot on with this man. Life just isnt the same as it used to be.
@@DoozMinecraft thank you man. Honestly 1980-2015 because 2015 is when politics truly destroyed our country because it took hold in peoples lives and drove people apart and the retail apocalypse was really setting in as well. I can’t believe it’s already 2022. Crazy shit…..
@@pepsi_man4962 Honestly, i think that the fall of the "Greatness" started after the Towers fell. That was when the sense of safety and privacy was shattered. Since then, surveillance has become much more widespread. And with the internet becoming much more widespread in 2007-2008 and on, Socializing has died As well.
@@ruscaliso that is true but in my opinion it really dipped literally like 6 years ago. It really went far. Like too far gone at this point. I’m only 17 and tbh with you my good old days were the early 2000s lmao. When I compare the early 2000s to now it is like night and day. A totally different time. I bet the 80s were fucking amazing…… but like I was saying I’ve seen a change in society first hand and I’m not even that old. I miss the way things were and the way people were. When I used to go Christmas shopping around the holidays with my dad at the local mall. Now that mall is dead….. I used to see Santa there…… Memories are the thing that hits the hardest for me when I see this drastic change in society. It kinda breaks my heart. And yes 9/11 really was a big turn of events and kinda maybe foreshadowed what was to come…..
@@pepsi_man4962 dammit, your right
This honestly feels like an amazing horror setting. The echo, the lighting, the uneasy emptiness of it all.
its too fitting so it will never happen irl
I wish it did😞
Or maybe it will.
It did happen to me. I used to work as a night security for the mall after it closing. My section covers the food court and a game center and since it was quite boring, I would occasionally play a song using my phone. It feels pretty much like in the video, you're alone and some arcade console still open with bright white screen while a song play from seemingly far away. Though in my case it was a smartphone, not a speaker.
@@johncarter4956 i loved doing night security in different malls and stores. it was like all these liminal space videos but in real life
85 out of all the 80s was my worst year. I still have scars from that year that my daughter asked about. But now, I think it was one of the few years when I actually gained something out of it all.
almost 5 am... let's see where the autoplay took me. Empty 80s arcade?! wonderful journey... Man, cool VHS effects that are in good balance. And of course amazing job done with song echoing around the room. Nostalgia hits because I remember arcades even from early 2000s :( good old days... thanks for bringing back memories
I’m so glad you enjoyed your journey! ❤️ I wish I got to experience the 80’s. And thank you 😊
…at least, you thought it was empty, until the PA crackled to life with Tears for Fears…
"Nothing ever lasts forever" hits different in this setting. I miss being young and hanging with my old couple of friends that i've long since lost contact with.
Miss those days……..

This is nostalgic for me because my dad will always play this song when we're on a roadtrip
Inaccurate, there is no purple guy.
i love this reference

80s Games and 80s songs are on a whole new level of life. Where'd we go wrong? The 80s seemed so perfect.
Couldn’t have said it any better.
@@rstumbaugh43 really though. Perfect.
This is like a liminal space, but the only difference is that I'd love to be there
I heard this song a lot when I worked at Walmart last year, even though there were dozens of people there, it evoked a similar sense of solitude.
Wow...don't know why I liked this, no...loved this so much. It probably sounds weird but I don't know why I'm feeling nostalgic for a time period that I wasn't even alive in. Me being a 23 year old guy, at the time of this message, I couldn't help but be fascinated by the 80s, was it the colors, was it the music, even countries back then, the soviet union still being around, or just what life was like back then? I think it was just everything. This video also makes me think of some artwork that I'm doing, making a fictional city that has some buildings with arcade rooms like this. I won't go into it though, just thought I'd say that this vid was so neat, don't know why I preferred 80s music over...nowdays music though.
I'm a 05 kid but their was a small arcade near a library and there was a old man who used to run the place and he was so cool. I was young and innocent didn't think anything of it. He was a true friend and although the age difference we'd talk and conversate about video games. He had a clear passion.
Born in ‘95. Still went to arcades that kept the aesthetics during my childhood. And parents pretty much kept everything after ‘89.
I practically lived in the arcades as a kid in the 80s and early 90s. Never once heard music played in them though. Just the sounds of all the different arcades.
Familiar sounds, like outrun, track & field, bubble bobble, pac-land, double dragon, TMNT and wrestle fest.
I grew up a few hours away from the biggest arcade in my country. This reminds me of going back there after all these years and discovering it’s empty
They played this song at my school in the morning, now I feel the 80’s vibes
"Hey Bob, wanna play some arcade?"
"Hell yeah i will"
Living through this era, the arcade pictured looks more like a fancy one out of the 90's. The ones I grew with had an industrial feel, with usually one colour sequence (red carpet and red vinyl stools or chairs). The actual sound/music from these arcades was very dry as most didn't have high ceilings, so didn't echo or reverberate much, and any music was mostly drowned out by the constant crazy sound effects from several dozen machines going at once. I grew up and lived near a bowling alley that had an arcade next door (that smelled like metal, cigarette butts and old used chewing gum) and this very reverbed sound is actually more like what you would hear from the high ceiling bowling alley,.... but standing outside in the parking lot. Just memories and opinion...that's all.
I was thinking that. There's something very Disney Channel about this "arcade."
Upload all the song.It is magical!✨✨
thanks :)
I was just at a retro arcade last night. I sure miss those days.
Great concept but I was really hoping to hear some videogame sound effects in the background.
Que nostalgia esses arcades e eu nem sou desse tempo ;(
This feels like the arcade strip at the roller rink I used to go to as a kid, but it's like you went into the bathroom and when you came out everyone was just gone.
Ever played any games with shared social areas? Ever load into one and there's no other players in it and the NPCs and vendors haven't loaded in either?
This is like those two experiences were merged into a memory-like dream that never actually happened.
No skibidi toilets content
No sex
No drug
Just the nostalgia music
So so so totally awesome, loved going to the arcades, and Tears for Fears rocks!
Wish I was there for the 50s personally, but yknow what? 80s seem like a good decade too
Why do I have the feeling I’ve been through this before? Like some memory from a past life?
Or it could just be the effect of liminal spaces.
This gives off an aesthetic feeling that you can't describe.
such a great time to be in 80s arcade
It makes me nostalgic enough to feel sad man
Bro I’m literally 18 I never lived in the 80’s or even the 90´s WHY DOES THIS MAKE ME CRY SO MUCH
May build a retro arcade eventually just for these vibes
I would be dancing around and singing
Internet is a time machine, you can experience the past or the future with those types of videos and your own mind.
Fuck! I wish I could’ve lived in the 80s
I feel like i've been apart of the 80's and 90's but i've never been through it this feels so nostalgic for some reason even mentoning something like the lamborghini countach it feels like i lived through that time but I did not
this just feels like a backrooms level
We used to walk a distance to even in a snow storm to play the pinball machines at the arcade or in the bolling alleys great hang outs during anytime 😊
Liked this, wish I could experience this one day
This would be a dream come true having an arcade all to yourself
i haven't existed in the 80s, but holy shit thats nostalgic
Thank you for this.. this is my comfort song
This brings back some memories of maybe 21+ years ago, being younger and world seeming dauntingly large
I went to an lodge motel and there was a restruant that played this song it gave me good vibes lol
There's something really eerie about this but not in a creepy way. More of something that is lost but never forgotten in our subconscious. But also something that could never be recreated. Walking into a dave and busters with this song playing now days just doesnt fit with the current era. Videos like this do the best job of bringing it back.
We need Arcades back
this isn’t my favorite song but it’s so good. so def gonna be my vecna song for when i shift
Now this takes me back to my teenage years 😃💖
this is some nostalgic shit right here
this song but you're in a freddy fazbear/fredbears family diner...
I had an odd irrational fear as a kid, and it was of nuclear war... the concept of the human race essentially committing suicide in order to try to be dominant terrified me. at one point when I was about 11, my dad played this song for me, and I felt like my fear had been slightly rationalised, like this was an actual fear of people at one point... but I’m honestly really glad i found this... it has an air of melancholy and nostalgia about it, idk how exactly to describe it, but you know what I mean...
This song slaps either way. Tears For Fears has been rocking out so many new songs!
I remember those wild carpet patterns and the medium squishyness of the floor carpet
Ahhh the relaxing side of RUclips…😌, anyone else just sittin, smilin, rememberin those good days
When you finally beat Dhalsim but it took stealing one of your friend’s quarters when he wasn’t looking:
I was born in 1970. The 80’s, to me, were just…magical. The music, the movies, the arcades/games..the decor, and fashion..it was the “ME” decade, the economy was great, jobs easy to find, everyone was so optimistic, the future looked bright, what a great era…I think the last great era before the 80’s, was the 50’s…to me, there hasn’t been, another great era, since the 80’s…very sad..I truly miss the 80’s, it was an amazing time in my life, I just hope I’m around, when the next great era comes around!!
Ngl, this made me cry a little
Love how rapidly it’s growing
this is so good I might cry....
Was born in the 2000s. Never had the joy of an 80s arcade. But the modern arcade in my mostly dead still seems nice. Its probably one of the top sources of income. Its still fun to think what this could have looked like in a time before me
Accurate but there would still be demo sounds from the arcade machines.
I miss arcades
God this makes me miss my childhood in the '90s. Makes me miss the Westminster mall...
Someone was savvy enough to catch this history.

Oh man This is awesome! Thanks for posting! Where is this arcade located?
Needs distant sounds of Donky Kong, Galaga and Pac Man.
This reminds me of the glory days in a time where i never existed
Amazing! You could do "How Soon is now" outside of a bar. Or "Dance Hall Days" in an empty diner.
haunting, meaningful in a mysterious and profound way. I'm not an 80's kid but it touched me. I'm a 60-70's kid but, nevertheless....
arcade room to the skibidi toilet series what a difference

i’m awake almost every night and early in the morning as well so yeah these images just about sums up what sort of things i get up to.
Man i miss going to the arcade
NOT A WORD BELL *bell proceeds to take a picture with the camera they carry with them all the time*
Xtreme 2 as an Arcade game would be interesting
There's a bar not far from where I live that's designed like an 80's arcade with games from the 80's and 90's and mixed drinks named after games and game related things. Most of the games are free, minus the pinball ones, and they have great pizza. A few of the games are in disrepair though, sadly. Love the place. Some of the mixed drinks are a miss for me, but Super Smashed Bros is actually nice. There's a movie theatre and a comic/toy/book shop right next to it. The comic place has old GI Joe toys and stuff from that era for sale, also. It feels like a nice little time warp you walked into. Enjoy places like that while they last. They're an oasis in a desert of postmodern nothingness, where we buy everything online and live increasingly isolated lives. There's just something great about playing classic games the way they were intended to be played and having a slice of deep dish pizza with your friends in a dark, neon-lit shrine to what came before.
