I just imagine walking through an abandoned mall in absolute silence with a flashlight when suddenly this song kicks on in the food court down the hall.
And I think to myself, "What food place plays music in their store? OHH HOT DOG ON A STICK!" and then I walk down there, in a trance of the neon food court dining area lights, only to find it empy, not a soul around, only the sound of The Police and a flicker of a single neon light tube....
Because reality is allot of this old aesthetic places and is actually disappearing and being replaced with new shopping centers that we cant relate to nor have any interest in because we grew up and are out of that phase of the nostalgic 1990s and late 2000s
I remember when I was 12 & at my grandparent's for the holidays. We went to the mall in the morning, it was almost empty & this song started playing like this. Brings back memories.
"The footsteps, heavy and sounding so much like metal tapping on porcelain, approached us from the darkness of the Dead Malls' full interior. Suddenly, the overhead speakers squeaked and yelped and music started, just as it walked into view." -@slimyswampghost
These recreations of 80s music playing in a mall got me in my feels even though I was a little kid in the 80s and only went to the mall with my mom sometimes. Fun fact: there was an educational movie about dinosaurs in the early 80s that had either this song or a soundalike (probably a soundalike let's be honest) in the opening credits and that's where I first remembered it from.
I've only dabbled with audio editing, and never really dove in because I didn't feel like I could really express the feelings I wanted to, but THIS is absolutely perfect. This is what I would've fallen in love with had I known about it.
I imagine myself walking in the mall at 9PM, while my hands are on my pocket, and in a cold night, as the mall closes and people leaving the mall although some are still walking around the the mall. It actually feels pretty chill and relaxing. I only see stalker/abandoned mall scenarios in here, am I the only one who thinks like this?
every single song where it's "playing in an empty church/mall/store/etc" is EXACTLY what music sounds like when you're dissociating, I know cause I've dissociated while playing piano, and my hands just kinda kept playing while I dissociated. So I feel like when a lot of people are trying to describe the feeling these types of videos bring, they're really trying to explain the feeling of not being mentally present while sounds are going on. Staring into space, zoning out, dissociating, etc, all of them make you hear stuff like this.
Takes me back to the retro 90s, playing super Mario on an arcade machine with your stomach rumbling but mom said we can go get a Burger King soon. This hits so hard, a trail of nostalgia
If our lifes had a soundtrack, this song would be on mine. Since I was little it was my favourite song. I can't explain it, but this song gives me such a strange feeling, some sort of sadness, as if I was missing something. I always want to cry to this song, it's so melancholic for me, and I don't know why.
Just discovered your channel, can't stop listening to every songs! You're a genius! Could you do an edit of Soft Cell - Where Did Our Love Go playing in an empty shopping center anytime ?
Austin asked Rachel out on a date. She refused saying she isn’t for him. Austin walks to the mall into an old arcade to forget about it. This song comes on. He thinks about what it would have been if she said yes. He begins to think she is an idiot for not dating him. He begins to fill with hate. He wants to take action. He leaves the mall with the song in mind. He goes home and grabs something. Grabbing its black handle. It’s perfect. He walks to her house. He stares at her through the window. He gets in through the window. He walks to her room and opens the door with a slight creak. He tip toes to her bed where she is sleeping. He lifts the object. He whispers, “Every Breath You Take.”
He grips the handle tight, wishing it didn’t come to this. He utters” Every move you make”. He gulps, terrified of what come next. The music plays on in his head, and he continues to load the tool that will fulfill his dream. He chokes out “Every bond you break, every step you take”. Looking away, he aims at the target and puts pressure on the trigger. Austin finally sobs out his final words to his unrequited love. ‘I’ll be watching you’
I've never been to a shopping centre/mall, but there's one a few hours away from where I live. A few people I know have said it's mostly empty and plays lots of the music like this. I really wish I could go now lmao.
Wow... This is sad. It's like the dying song of the mall. It's like a song from the mall to all of us, how it's watched us for decades before its own death...how it was part of our lives in a weird literal and metaphorical way, watching us grow up and fly the coop.... And now low volume, no bass, in its abandoned halls, its ready to be called home... Long Live The Mall.
POV: Youve been driving for a few days, escaping from the abusive home you grew up in. You sit down in this 24 hour pizza and arcade late at night. A woman comes to the table, noticing your tired and stressed. You both talk and play some games for a few hours, then she asks if you need a place to stay.
Imagine just layin there on the cold tile floor. The cold just starts to surround you, and you just lay flat out, crying and crying... then you hop up head to your car in the pitch black and drive home in complete and utter silence.
I'm imagining myself as an 80s teen who's bringing his girlfriend into this empty arcade for some private time. Then we heard "What in the hell are you two doing here?".
I Know it's impossible but it's gonna be cool if you use for a video italian music like Battisti, Dalla, Guccini, Calcutta or some like this. Great works
That moment when you're hiding in a empty Shopping Center and this song starts playing
Blake the Blue Dragon awesome profile picture goes well with your comment!

Imepicerthenyou that could be both unnerving and nostalgic
i feel like this is supposed to be scary but id probably just start cracking up if someone played this while following me. cheese.
id just stay there and accept my death listening to this song

Yeah

its called nostalgia my friend.
so true
For me since I'm an old man it's straight up nostalgia, this was my childhood.
That was cool. It kinda hurt somewhere deep inside. I guess you could say...

Nostalgia can definitely do that
You will Never visit a 1980s Arcade with your friends on a warm Summer afternoon in L.A
DPOH Productions thanks a lot
That's literally my dream. Just to live my life as a kid 12+ years old in the 80s...
I wanna be a teenager in the 1950s, the 1980s and the 1990s and may be even the early 2000s
Well you don't have to rub it in
honestly hurt

I wish I could have been a teen in the 80's. Born in the wrong time.
You'd be like 30+ by now. (Assuming that you aren't)
I can relate to you bro. Me too. Idc if I'd be 30+ years old. It would be worth it. Makes you wish time travelling machines were real.

The song's lyrics combined with the silence in the whole mall almost made me want to click out the video. Nice job👍👍😅

The nostalgia of something I’ll never get the chance to experience. This feeling is really weird.
it feels like 2008
Why is this so aesthetic omg

Since the end of Stranger Things 2 this song operates on me a weird feeling and I don’t know if I like this feeling or not.

what happened to the "Time After Time" video? it got taken down:(
It got blocked in some countries so I just took it down. If someone has an issue with me using a song I'd rather not push it.
Do something with Hurdy Gurdy Man- Donovan
The feeling of being in that corner of the mall where the music doesn’t play as well, pondering on what feeling you experience.

Sounds like a ringtone in the GTA games
What i got from this chanel: don't go into empty shopping centers, there are stalkers, phycho killers and school shooters...
Pastel Invader cant be a fucking school shooter in an empty shopping mall dumbass
You think you could do saturnz barz by gorillaz?
Many people don't know this song is about Sting's ex wife stalking him. So he's singing it in her perspective, technically.
reminds me of when i still had hope
Bruh imagine being a guard and hearing this echo throughout the mall
Immediately leaves closed mall while checking behind me every few seconds
It's 3 am and You and I are in the empty shopping mall and talk about life and love and then this song starts..
Everyone knows when this song plays
Some serious shit is about to happen
We need revurb on these.
Make "Blinded By the Light" - Manfred Mann's Earth Band in a shopping mall.

This is better than making this a love song. Ugh.
It annoys me when people say "Stranger things." But still, this is cool.
When you’re the janitor of the mall at night and there’s some creepy guy following you..
Charlotte sometimes The Cure please!!💙
How do you make these??
Welp, I'm gonna die in this abandoned arcade
The mall demons: _every step you take I’ll be watching you…_
I use to think this song was romantic when I was little but now I’m 16 and this song is so creepy.
Sounds like a song Cartoon Cat is probably familiar with, since he has been known to live in a Mall.
If you did the major to minor version by Chase Holfelder that would actually be something out of a dream or movie
this just reminds me of stranger things but if the snowball was in star court mall
Funny how this is the closest thing to a time machine.. getting old blows.

Does anyone else feel like something is going to pop up and scare u??? I’m feeling uneasy but also nostalgic? Weirddd
So apparently this shopping mall is protected by the police.
anyone else getting stranger things vibes?

Is it weird this makes me feel VERY unsettled?
they made the song scarier, somehow
