01:13 - If only it were that simple... Having spent a fair amount of time looking into the history of the Citadel paint line... turns out, the Chinese government had began to restrict the export of paint. GW was literally unable to continue selling Foundation paint from their existing supplier. They knew a change in supplier would impact the product, so they instead decided on a plan to move production back to the UK, with greater internal control over the whole pipeline. GW now owns their own paint formulas, and so even if they have to change suppliers, they can keep using the same formulas.
It was very much a decision to future-proof their product against foreign policies, rather than a decision based in corporate greed.
That's fantastic that your testing the fanatic paints thru the airbrush..... I was wondering if the air warpaints would be getting the fanatic treatment like a airpaint 2.0. sounds like it can be run thru the airbrush just fine though. Glad your answering some of the questions that the audience at large might have.

The fanatics range, when used through an airbrush, doesn't appear to give as smooth a coverage as their air range going by what we're seeing on the paper. Siege Studios mentioned something similar in their airbrush tests of the fanatic range, but didn't have any examples to show. Now that I can see it, it definitely isn't as good through an airbrush as the air range. Lyla Mev mentioned they are a little brighter when drying, but its very subtle. I remember the P3 mixing medium and that milky white stuff would turn a red paint temporarily pink until it dried. Its definitely not an issue here. I'd say the new colors are close to the old ones. I'd probably do a heavy drybrush of the base paint over the color primer just to be sure they match if I were using the new range with the old color spray paints.

What air brush do you recommend? Also do you use a spray booth?
I just bought the master air brush starter kit on amazon last month it’s like 150 for everything you need to airbrush and after some trial and error (I’m a total noob) I got really good at using it. The air brushes are pretty basic but do the job great. I’d advise to do that before getting anything over $80 or so

Not the greatest review compared to other reviews I've seen. People say they are a lot thicker, and need more dilution. Also you painted the paint on directly from the bottle to the bases. No bueno. Looks like another buy from AP
I’m confused I literally show in the video they didn’t need extra dilution to be airbrushed (i.e. “not thick” as you claim) you can’t physically paint from the bottle to bases, they are dropper bottles?
So new paints is actually old paints 😂
