- A few of you reminded me that THIS was the original song in Back to the Future! The Sticky Sweethearts were robbed when the song was changed last minute from the original version of The Shadow Of My Wiener to Earth Angel. Bad move. Great movie though.

"I glued my pubes and the rest is history." - Few people knew that this brief statement by frontman John "Sticky" Groole referred to a haunting experience of the singer, who at the time was experimenting with various adhesives backstage and ultimately gave the starting signal for the now legendary "I Glued My Balls To My Buttwhole Again". Shortly after he tore out his pubic hair out of lovesickness and then tried to glue it back in its original place, Sticky wrote the now famous lines with the same glue he used to glue his pubic hair together. The equally famous "The Shadow of my Wiener" was an expression of a new self-confidence and was originally planned for the film Back to the Future, but all the recordings were burnt in a tragic accident and the film had to be accompanied by makeshift music tracks. This did nothing to diminish the fame of the Sticky Sweethearts, on the contrary, "The Shadow of my Wiener" was used in the famous Schwarzenegger film Terminator 2.5: The Skynet Paradox. What a wonderful time!

i remember seeing this in the theater before they changed it
My grandfather was part of the test screening and he confirmed this was the song. They never explained why they changed it and he spent rhe rest of his life pulling his pubes and wonderinf if he imagined it.
Although he is now long gone, I'm sure he saw this video from heaven and got the closure.

My uncle went to Whittier High School, so we have tons of pictures of him wandering around George McFlys old stomping grounds... but the wild thing is, after he graduated, he got a job in Hollywood as various crew titles. One of which was a "boom operator" on a little film called Back to The Future... which was filmed largely at Whittier High School.
Took him 10 years to break into the industry and landed back in High School 😂
My uncle told me once that the scene where Marty gets locked in the trunk was actually extended to include the racial slurs and pushback by the band. The Sticky Sweethearts wanted it to accurately reflect what bands dealt with on a regular basis. Thankfully, Zemekis was on board and the moment made it into the movie.
