I just got back from New York on Saturday...absolutely boiling hot! mid to high 90's 😆 might have cooled a bit now! Bit of a heatwave apparently. The staff in the Louis Vuitton store at Hudson Yards were so lovely when I was there on Thursday...worth a visit 💙

VAT at 20% plus duty adds quite a bit to those prices if you declare, as you should. I have a couple of friends who have been stopped recently and got quite a bill. Up to you if you decide to risk it.

Have a great time in NYC. I am American and my daughters go there every year to shop and see the museums. If you have time catch the sleeping Beauties exhibit at the Met-it is fabulous!!! Highly recommend trying to pickup a speedy 30/35 at fashionfile or the real real. I have had 2 over the past 35 yrs and can honestly say my most used bags ever(both purchased back in the when retail was under $400🤣)They were a perfect bag when I was a young mom (discreet "diaper bag")and later back as working Mom-always could carry what I needed. I have one that is still pull back out on occasion though I mainly use smaller bags now as I am fully retired. I have never looked but my daughter has found some great bargains from LV in the Japanese resale markets. Thinking I may actually look there for a travel tote for myself. Hate paying retail for something to bang around on a plane at today's prices.

The way I see it. Real or fake if it's a style I like then I like it and will buy it. But to me the *preluxz* one looks better than the real one. And who's gonna be inspecting ladies purses. If your out there trying to figure out if someone's bag is real who are you the prise police? So If you can get a really nice fake one then why not? Most of us don't have thousands dollars to spend on a real one and wouldn't anyway. No one has to know if it's fake or real. That's nobodies business. Enjoy and wear your bag which ever you have.

Cartier and Van Cleef are way more in Uk by 1000 US dollars. I hope you have an amazing time in NY its a great city. We live here and love.
I also live close to NYC relatively speaking 😉. Exotics are not something I will buy or attempt to take in or outside of the States. There are quite a few notices about it. I have a python bag I love and it could not be shipped outside of the States. Enjoy your trip ☺️.
Yes I don’t think I would look for an exotic in the USA due to worries about travelling with it. Ostrich doesn’t need cities but not sure if that makes it any easier x
Hi Deb, I just looked on line, I live in the midwest, and the Margaux 15 in Suede is $4,550. The grained leather is $4,330 and the soft leather is $5,190. I have a Margaux in the pebbled grain and love it. It does not show scratches and is sooo elegant and chic. Even when the hype wears down it will still be a classic shape. I have a friend who purchased the more expansive, smooth leather and yes, it does scratch and stain easily. She likes the lived in look, I'm more into pristine and not appearing worn look lol. Knowing your style and collection I'm not sure you would be happy with a bag that scratched so easily. Enjoy your visit in NY and I look forward to your posts!
I live in New York City & went to London, Paris & Geneva in April & researched the best place to buy a Louis Vuitton Coussin PM. Paris had the best price. I bought one in Navy. The price was $1,000 less than in NYC & I also I got the taxes back! So overall I saved $1,500 not buying in NYC. Would buying in Paris be better for you? (the price already went up $100 since April!!)
Yes Paris would be cheaper due to the tax refund - however there are taxes and duties returning back into the UK so any saving is mitigated. Add to this the cost to visit etc x

All that calculating is exhausting and takes the fun out of shopping. "Investing" is not shopping. Just buy what you like. Also, you're not including duty so I guess you won't be claiming the bags on your return to the UK.
