    Hey guys, John here for RealTruck.com. I am going to show you how to install the AVS In-Channel Vent Visors.
    OK, the first step in installing our vent visor is use the enclosed Scrub Brite style pad to clean the entire window channel where our vent visor is going to be installed. Now once that's done we can pull back an inch or two of the backing from an adhesive tape on both ends of our visor. Reinstall our visor into the channel and then go ahead and remove the rest of the backing. Secure the visor into the channel by just giving a little push just to set it in place. Go ahead and roll the window up to make sure that everything is going to work properly and to help set the visor.
    Once you do that you close the door up and leave it set for at least 24 hours. Then we are going to install the back one exactly the same way we did the front one.
    There you have it folks, that's how easy it is to install the AVS In-Channel Smoke Vent Visors on to your truck. So remember until next time, happy motoring. 866-554-0581 Free shipping for orders over $100!

    Best video I've seen of this install so far... And exactly how I did mine today. Thanks for the clear directions on rolling up the window to set them.

    Do you put the none tape side in the window channel as well or behind the mirror cap?

    I've used the AVS vent visors and two of my previous trucks. I liked them and lasted the life of both trucks. This is the first using the in-channel vent visors, and I just installed these on my 2020 Ram 1500 Express. They're pretty easy to install, although my fingertips are too big to use the scrubber and the cleaning wipes. So I had to get some help from my son. So there you go, folks, it's so easy that even a kid could do it. He even got to pull the red plastic off the 3M tape strips. That was his pay, he said.

    Will the power window interfere with that plastic going in

    I order two sets of these one for a 2016 Ram 1500 quad cab part # 994003 and one for a 2018 Ram 2500 Mega cab Part # 194109 In-Channel Ventvisors. Both looked exactly the same where the front fits over the Mirror cap making it not waterproof. The directions that came with it didn’t mention removing the Mirror cap so that the front end was behind the cap making it waterproof then. So I installed to with the front end sticking outside the mirror cap.
    Wondering now did I install it wrong and how would I correct it now that it has been installed ?
    Anyone have an answer?

    this video needs to be updated you can see how much the front moves this guy's doesn't know he had to tuck in part of the visor behind the rear view mirror ...if I knew about this month's ago when I bought my visors I wouldn't of returned them

      The vent will move during and after installation until atleast 72 hours.. leaving windows up for only 24 hours I found out is not enough time and had issues with it but once let sit for 72 hours it was good and the rubber window seal kept its memory and vent wouldn’t move anymore

    I've used AVS brand on several vechiles for years , it wasn't until my last 2 vechiles that I started having issues with this brand .
    Hoping for the best as I'm willing to give AVS one more try on my Ram , so we'll see what happens .
    For full disclosure this will be the first time using the inchannel visors.

    Any info on how to keep the front windows from hitting the front tab on the both front in channel visor's? Even when they've set, that front visor tab seems to get in the way... Even the rear visor corners seem to have some rubbing.

      are they installed after market like mine?? I think it is a matter of positioning...a bit touchy..

    Thanks for your video.
    What is the proper position of the vent visor...? should it be in the window channel or should it be between the door frame and the weather stripping...? My front visors seem to be too long and it may be due to the ACS company having sent the front visors that seem 2 inches too long...? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    • @Realtruck
      @Realtruck  8 лет назад +1

      +BigRed56 it should easily slide in between the weather stripping and the metal of the window frame.If they are that much too long I would suggest double checking to make sure you do in fact have the correct part# for your vehicle.

    My 2018 1500 ram has a rubber seal making it difficult to insert the wisor into small gap between it and door frame.
    I have to pry it to fit in between and makes the window close too tight now.
    Anyone else has same issue?

      I cannot roll my front windows up without them hitting the little piece that doesnt have adhesive going down the A pillar. I have to get out and hold the visor out and roll the window up, otherwise it hits it and rolls back down. I contacted AVS and they said they will do a defective exchange, but I dont think that will help. guy i know has the same ones on same truck and he said he filed that piece off to get them to work

  • @simontse6168

    I had the same issue as Chris. But after a very warm day I let it set a couple of times, and it does not hit that tab. Problem I have is that when I am driving I hear wind noise now, any way of knowing how to get rid of the wind noise?

    • @Realtruck
      @Realtruck  9 лет назад

      Simon Tse I have done a lot of research on the in-channel style of visor. It would seem that the brand really has no bearing on the wind noise issue. The problem seems to be the in-channel design themselves. Most people just deal with it because they really like the look of the in-channel whereas others switched to a tape-on style which seems to not have noise inducing qualities. Yet a few others have said after awhile they don't even notice the noise anymore. What causes the noise is the in-channel lip of the visor goes in-between the rubber seal and the glass. Is there a way to fix this? I don't know, but I will look into a solution.

    • @simontse6168
      @simontse6168 9 лет назад

      ***** Thanks for the information. I love the look of the in-channel more than the tape on, I thought I was getting wind noise because of a small tiny gap by the mirrors, and a small tab that goes in between the rubber seal, but I put a drop of silicone to block it, and the noise still is present.

    I ordered some of these for my wife's 2010 Avenger and the adhesive is on the wrong side of the vent shade, as if they were to be installed on the exterior of the car. The package and instructions clearly state "In-Channel". The package was also missing the scrubber for cleaning the window channel. I even had to modify the shade with a drimel tool to cut it down to size so it would even fit in the channel. Once I had them fit in place the directions clearly state to roll the window up and leave it up for 24 hours for proper adhesion, then I realized that if I do that the adhesive will catch the window and pull the shade out when I roll it back down (which it did because I tested that theory). Are the quality of these products just poor or did I receive a screw up? My wife was really looking forward to these and now I don't know if I want to try this again.

    Do you have to stick them between the window frame and felt seal or stick it on the cloth seal

    Definitley a mess of different part numbers for same vehicles. Have to study the particular one you have purchased. Seems like a few different versions from AVS on how they mount whether its between metal and seal or inside the channel against felt door window seal. I picked up #192002 from Orielys and they mount against the actual seal and not metal and fit in entire channel all the way including behind the mirror. I see the others posted videos where the tab for around the mirror go over the seal and mirror on the outside. Just have to see what you actually have before assuming videos you watch are the exact part being installed. Good video though

    You need to close window before removing tape to make sure it closes fine

    • @Realtruck
      @Realtruck  7 лет назад +6

      +Robert,
      When installing these you do need to test fit and make sure the window rolls up first. Once you do that you can roll the window back down and peel off the tape.

    Sorry, this is not how to properly install this visor. This method will keep interfering with the proper closing of your window. You are supposed to NOT install the side flanges in the the channel, but rather outside the channel and tuck it between the window frame and the gasket. Hope this helps and makes sense.

    the website video shows the front tab going behind the side view mirror cap .. not into the channel

    • @Realtruck
      @Realtruck  8 лет назад

      Andy I have went back over and watched all these install vids including the one AVS has and don't see that anywhere. Not sure which vid you are seeing that on. After watching these it does appear that the front tab goes in the channel. I do know that there are some of these that have an additional add-on tab that does hook behind the mirror cover, but this doesn't appear to be one of those. If you can find the one you are talking about post a link to it so I can have a look. We are always looking for ways to improve on what we do here at RT and appreciate your comment. if you have any questions concerning this or any of our other products just feel free to ask.

      I just installed these on my 2016 Ram 1500. The tabs went behind the mirror base. There's no way they could fit in the channel because the rubber gasket completely covers the channel where that tab would go. So you are correct, at least for some models.

    • @Realtruck
      @Realtruck  8 лет назад

      Edouard deVarennes I haven't tried these on the 2016 models so you are probably correct. I think it really is going to vary by model years from the way it sounds. If you guys have trouble with these please call our awesome Customer Service peeps at 877-216-5446 and they would enjoy the opportunity to help you.

      For those with tape on wrong side of visor (or is too large to fit inside channel), you most likely purchased an external vent visor, NOT an In-Channel VV. Look up part number on manufacturer box.
