One change I hope they make is the ability to replay completed tome challenges. People that come into the game later on can get the opportunity to play older tomes, usually after they catch up on the newest tome for rift progress. But players that have been around since the start and have finished all of the tomes up to the current rift have nothing once they finish whatever page is unlocked at the time. If you could reselect completed tome challenges for perhaps a set bp amount, or put a time limit between replays so people can't exploit easy challenges. That would give people the chance to re do "rare" challenges like the Blighted Kanker from the first tome. This would add optional objectives per player that they can determine before each trial.
I think some things left for the devs to do is let the survivors see each other's perks (once the match starts so that people aren't hesitant to play a match because one survivor's running a goofy build) and have a hud element that explains the effects that you're undergoing from perks or addons. I think the last one is really needed cuz I run an unhooking build sometimes w/ babysitter and half the time the person I unhook doesn't know that they have no scratch marks or blood.
I agree about the meta shake up. Everyone cried for a while but then found their new meta and all calmed back down. The changes aren’t often forever example of iron will basically back but just added exhausted bit to it. Ruin stopped if somebody died was a bit odd but then they changed it back. Shake ups do make the game “fun” again learning new perks and builds (which is also why chaos shuffle was such a banger).
I used the cross progression when switching to Steam and the only thing that was wrong was prestiges. I had all perks from characters that were prestige unlocked for other characters but for some reason their prestige lvl was reset to 0.
“Nerfed him to the ground by adding this overheat mechanic?” Once in my game, I was getting butchered as hillbilly, and in the end game I had a plan. So I hooked the person I’ve caught, and I knew they were coming to save. So I overheated my chainsaw on purpose to make it seem like I’m stupid and as if they can save freely. However, they missed my trump card, NOED. And with that play I’ve got a 3K.
this video was amazing but the only one I sorta disagreed with was changing the shattered squares colors because even though it was impossible to see aura's and scratch marks, it gave the map so much more personality
Hello, Mr. Kyto. I've recently come across one of your "Best perk ideas" series. I do realize I am *quite* late to the party, but if you're willing to, I've got an idea. Ahem. *Killer perk: Infernal Flame* Your capability influences the entity, almost as if it was hypnotized to only be on your side. Infernal Flame gains one token each time any survivor is hooked, up to a total of 10. For each token, the entity progresses 20/40/60% faster on hooks. If you reach 10 tokens before the final generator is completed, when the exit gates are powered, the entity will block the switch for 10/20/25 seconds. Once the gates are opened, the GATE will also be blocked for 3/6/9 seconds. My thumbs hurt now but I hope it was worth my while. And if I messed anything up (I'm not that big on the game so it wouldn't surprise me but I thought this was a fun idea), please correct me. Peace ✌
Cross progression made me come back to this game and I still love it! I used to play on my ps4 and bought a lot of stuff and dlcs. I was able to save money and buy me a powerful gaming pc and I moved to pc , when I found out that all my skins and characters are tied to my ps4 I was so sad and I let the game down. Loved the fact that after 1,5 years I can finally play with my dlcs and skins big W for BHVR❤
The days without basekit BT were incredible because the killer could down you DURING THE UNHOOK ANIMATION. thankfully DS and off the record still worked in endgame so my build for months was just bt ds otr dead hard, because if i took off any of those i didnt stand a chance
Hatch standoffs. There was no way to close the hatch and no endgame collapse. If the killer found the hatch first, it'd result in a standoff: if a killer swings first, the survivor escapes, but if the survivor jumps first, they get grabbed. Also, IDK how it is now, but back then the hatch spawned in the closed state before the exit gates were powered. I remember doing the "speedrun hatch" meme tactic in SWF where we'd have keys and maps, repair some of the gens and then find the hatch and leave through it. I think there was even an achievement to do exactly that.
I think Dead Hard was honestly worse. So much worse. I sometimes watch a video of someone ranting about it just to remember how bad it used to be and how that’s not a thing anymore.
I know it's a hot take but I really liked the old shattered square with the red hue. Had some of my greatest matches there and the whole map had a "there is a rampaging killer on the loose here vibe"...
I really wish for BHVR to have a Character Creation contest where players come up with Abilities, back stories etc for brand new characters and them the most Original Idea
Twisted masquerade was by far my favorite event, then 2V8 ( if u got a match as killer ) then chaos shuffle ( show true skill with killers and that survivors ain't nothing without perks )
I can not believe that a "hitbox on vaults" change was not mentioned in this video. I was expecting it to be on the 16-th place, cuz it was by far the best change ever
I LOVED old Borgo. I understand accessibility issues, but I don’t know why anyone thought it was ugly. It looked different and now….looks a lot more similar to all the others. 🍔 I also like Crows. I enjoy the variation, and I don’t want all the maps to have identical lighting.
Honestly, the kill switch is incredibly slept on. Imagine playing killer when that flashlight locker bug was out for the 3 weeks it took to fix it. It prevents toxic players from abusing bugs on the other side.
I started playing when the stranger things come out and the worst part was every time you got unhook you just went down immediately. Also the shard grind was crazyyyyy i got my first original killer when it was discontinued for 2 days from 9k to 4.5k
I know alot about dbd ,but alot your videos are very helpful,i learned how to by a better survivor and your videos are fun to watch i like specialy the way you talk. Thanks for Making video's and keep going! I needed the videos alot right now anyways, since im revisiting the game 2 weeks ago and i didn't play 2 years. so i gotta get back to my aim style XD
Another recent one is the store redesign. Having limited time offers, mori preview and cosmetics organized by collection is so nice. The old one was just too basic in terms of navigation.
Honestly I don't know why limited time game modes aren't just constantly looped on shuffle changing weekly/daily but there's always something, then have special event modes on top that unlock as they do now, when it's the event. - similar to how Overwatch has the Arcade mode that changes up, then also seasonal/special events still as well.
Seriously I remember survivors and in some cases killers holding games hostage for ridiculously long periods time. I remember a match against a spirit who just stood on the hatch at 5 gens till I finished them and then chased me down to get her rancor kill.
8:29 I can't fully agree with the Overheat mechanic being a good addition. Billy is the only killer in the game that can spam his power without being severely punished for missing it. Every other killer has either meaningful cooldowns, limited amount of ammo, some kind of fatigue, special items that can counter them (Xeno, Singularity) or a combination of these things. Billy can miss a chainsaw and still be basically right on top of you. He also has unlimited mobility on top of that. AND all of these things get even stronger during Overheat which is very easy to get
Agreed. Considering how good he is with Overdrive, I think they should have not reduced missing and bumping durations. It feels like it does not matter that I dodged a chainsaw due to how quick he is back to revving the saw.
yeah idk what the hell the video is talking about, spamming an instadown power and being rewarded with an even stronger mode of instadown power is i think a huge miss as a rework
I know this is completely off-topic, but imagine if there was an add-on for the pig that made a random head trap on escapable because Amanda and The saw series is known for making most for traps unbeatable so imagine if there was an add-on that allowed one of the head traps to unexpectable I don’t know what they would use what icon would or what the description would be but
11:08 *switch players are required to buy everything again if purchased through Nintendo store. Shattered Square was my favorite map in the entire game. One of the prettiest I've seen lol
I know it doesnt really hcange the gameplay or anything, but i really like the prestige feature, because now you can really show how much time, effort and kove you have put into a certain character, its jsut way more impressive seeing a p 100 billy now than seeing a p 3 billy before they reworked the prestiges
And still most of this futures are not finished or unbalanced. Cross progression was even bad example. Cause for copy of dlcs they dont give you golden cells donat currency, but just IRI SHARDS. Its so horrible
RIP dbdmobile, they created the new game modes and unique mori's on dbd and behaviour stopped netease and dont allowed them to continue with both things, and a week later they put in Lights Out and Naughty Bear skin...
Cross progression worked for me though. I only played the DbD on epic because it was given free and bought DLCs as time went on and then I started playing DbD on PS4 in summer last year (I only buy PS+ in summer since I'm not using PS4 much the rest of the year) So playing DbD with all my DLCs and skins on PS4 was nice this summer when they added cross-progression!
Dude switching up perks every month would be so frustrating to keep up with and I’m a fairly heavy dbd player. If they did this it could really upset and frustrate casuals too that now have to watch RUclips guides every month just to know which perks to use. Many players would also discover their perks to randomly be bad or have different effects than they remember. Good video otherwise- I do think buffing some lesser used perks could be good but randomly nerfing great perks might be a bit frustrating also confusing and hard to follow.
They could easily have a section that says which perks are currently selected. It wouldn’t be frustrating at all if the make sure it’s known what perks are buffed currently
12:10 tbh i absolutely loved the red vibes. It was so different from the normal aesthetics of dbd (just like ormond) that it was just so unique and pretty imo. Idk something like an opposite map from regular dbd. And not you hating on erie of crows too T-T i get it but man i just want more brighter maps bc i cant see anything on 90% of the map. Even the new colour for vecna's map makes me unable to see clearly. Also part of why i liked the red, it was more bright and made the killer etc stand out more

I think the last one is really needed cuz I run an unhooking build sometimes w/ babysitter and half the time the person I unhook doesn't know that they have no scratch marks or blood.
"Having a high FOV looks amazing"
Then there's me who gets nauseous if I watch people with high FOVs lmao
Kyto ur honestly one of the best dbd youtubers, original content and fun videos!
thank you! ❤
Him, Otz, and Spooky definitely top 3 for me, maybe Demi top 4
And with that play I’ve got a 3K.
that's hilarious😂
that old dead dawg saloon lighting looks really cool
One more addition to the HUD that would be great is a locker icon, showing a survivor is in a locker
this video was amazing but the only one I sorta disagreed with was changing the shattered squares colors because even though it was impossible to see aura's and scratch marks, it gave the map so much more personality
Hello, Mr. Kyto. I've recently come across one of your "Best perk ideas" series. I do realize I am *quite* late to the party, but if you're willing to, I've got an idea. Ahem.
*Killer perk: Infernal Flame*
Your capability influences the entity, almost as if it was hypnotized to only be on your side.
Shattered square change for me is kinda bad that map is way too dark now
damn i searched for this comment. it's better if there is a variety of maps, not all just dark and blue.
My favourite change is that the cold wind farm loops aren't see through anymore
Noticing a lot of new players which is awesome. Even saw 2 friends playing online that i didn’t even know were into it.
Surprised by the lack of mention of 'Made For This', Its introduction singlehandedly shook up the meta, while its nerf was universally liked.
lol made for this was one of the worst perks ever brought into dbd. people were sp happy it got nerfed because it was so strong.
2v8 brought me back to DBD and now it has been all I have played for a month. It has been great.
Search bar is so perfect.
I coded a perk randomizer and it uses the search bar to equip it for you lmao
The addition of the gen kick max was such a good addition
I really wish for BHVR to have a Character Creation contest where players come up with Abilities, back stories etc for brand new characters and them the most Original Idea
Thanks Kyto!!!! always the best content
Vault hits are still horrid, especially with medium vaults.
I like the first game mode "lights out" that was fantastic
I think the Heart Beat Visual Notification should be mentioned because this is a GAME Changer in my opinion being a OG version 1.0 player!
Cross platform was pretty amazing too, I think it occurred around Silent Hill chapter
10:45 “Bluetooth hooking” is actually a good way to put lol
Also, cross progression doesn’t work on Switch
Not sure what you mean with cross progression not working with switch
@@saffron_pheonix9170it’s not on switch
🌯👍Couldn't find the burger emoji, but thank you for the DbD history lesson!!
Bro I love your videos they make me happy
changing quentin was the WORST change in dbd history
What? Lol my man’s was ugly Af. Looking like he was on a bender 😂that face icon haunts me to this day
Honestly, I miss old opioid Quentin
I miss Gremlin Quentin. that change made me so sad
@thirstyfordoctor609 agreed. He actually looked like his backstory, and that made it much better.
I think he looks way better. As a nightmare on elm street fan I was like what the fuck lol
I like the hud but what would be kinda cool is if blindness would make you unable to see what ur team is doing
Do you remember when borgo had more than 2 non filler pallets? Pepperidge farms remembers.
I LOVED old Borgo. I understand accessibility issues, but I don’t know why anyone thought it was ugly. It looked different and now….looks a lot more similar to all the others. 🍔
I also like Crows.
Broooo thank you soooo much i didn't know that cross progression exists until now
YOU KNOW ITS A GOOD DAY WHEN KYTO POSTS!! I LOVE YOU KYTO!!! ❤❤
I started playing when the stranger things come out and the worst part was every time you got unhook you just went down immediately. Also the shard grind was crazyyyyy i got my first original killer when it was discontinued for 2 days from 9k to 4.5k
This might be radical, but I think the thing BHVR should do next to shake things up is adding a fifth perk slot and changing gens needing repair to 6.
At 6:27 we collectively let out a sigh, as we realized we all hate the same group of killers for the same exact reason.
I know this is completely off-topic, but imagine if there was an add-on for the pig that made a random head trap on escapable because Amanda and The saw series is known for making most for traps unbeatable so imagine if there was an add-on that allowed one of the head traps to unexpectable I don’t know what they would use what icon would or what the description would be but
“From massive work over hauls”
11:08 *switch players are required to buy everything again if purchased through Nintendo store.
Shattered Square was my favorite map in the entire game. One of the prettiest I've seen lol
I know it doesnt really hcange the gameplay or anything, but i really like the prestige feature, because now you can really show how much time, effort and kove you have put into a certain character, its jsut way more impressive seeing a p 100 billy now than seeing a p 3 billy before they reworked the prestiges
10:59 best example why masquerade was Killer sided
And still most of this futures are not finished or unbalanced. Cross progression was even bad example. Cause for copy of dlcs they dont give you golden cells donat currency, but just IRI SHARDS. Its so horrible
RIP dbdmobile, they created the new game modes and unique mori's on dbd and behaviour stopped netease and dont allowed them to continue with both things, and a week later they put in Lights Out and Naughty Bear skin...
DbdMobile isn't too bad. Outfits in core end up being Gacta 😅
Cross progression does work indeed (PS5/Epic Games). That said, understood the complaint too - prices had to match the higher $ PS had charged.
"Every single platform."

I didnt know about the pov slider. But up to this day i wonder if there is an in game way of making the game brighter without using any external bs.
I didn’t even know about the cross progression, you just saved me from buying the DLCS again. THANKS LOL
12:10 tbh i absolutely loved the red vibes. It was so different from the normal aesthetics of dbd (just like ormond) that it was just so unique and pretty imo. I know it was a quality of life change for scratch marks and colourblind people, but man i miss it. I wish they could keep the "burned look" and maybe just make the scratch marks a different colour. Idk something like an opposite map from regular dbd.
And not you hating on erie of crows too T-T i get it but man i just want more brighter maps bc i cant see anything on 90% of the map. Even the new colour for vecna's map makes me unable to see clearly. Also part of why i liked the red, it was more bright and made the killer etc stand out more
Have you seen the concept art for Shattered Square?? I think if they pulled off the grey and red look, it would work well and look super cool/different:
www.google.com/search?q=shattered+square+dbd+concept+art&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS802US806&oq=shattered+square+dbd+concept+art&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQIRigATIHCAIQIRigATIHCAMQIRigATIHCAQQIRigATIHCAUQIRigAdIBBzYzNmowajeoAhqwAgHiAwQYAiBf&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
The rework to hatch was amazing, having someone bring a key and get a free multiperson out was absolutely infuriating to go against as killer
One of the things I really want to see changed is the animations. Like what is that healing animation?
I agree with the information side of the New Hud but i do really miss the the old Hud and i wish there was an option to turn on the old hud
LEAVE SHATTERED SQUARE ALONE. How dare you
the thumbnail made me so sad. i main quentin because he was my little goblin boy and they ruined him so bad :(
My friend couldn't stop talking about cross progression for so long, but I'm happy for him that it came out.
