Another great ACD story that you've recorded for the world to hear, with some of the best English accents to boot. I've Gotta say it again Greg Wagland, you are arguably the best Narrator of ACD novels period. Cheers Wagz, from Melbourne Australia...🇦🇺

Hello Greg, another wonderful narration. I've always been very fond of this story, perhaps as I grew up not far from Congleton (although the geography in the story is a bit mysterious, I assumed it was the Peak District but that's nowhere near Morecambe Bay, unless ACD is giving that title to the whole coastline from Barrow to Liverpool... but I digress). I recorded a version of this a while back, as you say it's great fun with so many different voice and accents! I enjoyed your rendition very much indeed, good to hear you in fine voice. I hope you're keeping well, best wishes

Sir ACD was educated near Clitheroe, so it's perhaps unsurprising that he's familiar with the Morecambe Bay area.

Mr Maple's grocery was never as successful as he hoped. Then he hit on the idea of naming a customer loyalty card after his trademark injured foot.
The Clubcard took off and the business never looked back. A little-known fact - to this day, if you limp up to a Tesco check-out and say to the operator "I am Stephen Maple" you'll get a special discount.

It's a very anticlimactic ending. I wished the nephew to realize some gain from the loot however I guess this is the way of the world. Sounds like in this era sailors have long memories and little to no cares to their consequences on land as sea.
