    Yep, same for me...........I will NEVER buy another harley Davidson, I have bought at least six of them so far, but High Desert HD in Meridian, Idaho has to be one of the most deceptive dealerships I've ever dealt with. They didn't used to be that way, but with the influx of californians to our state, I guess they feel as though they can screw over everyone.............of course the californians will gladly buy, no questions asked.

    I'll never give Harley Davidson my business, at least not in my town. Worst dealership experience I've ever had. They had the most condescending, rude, sales people I've ever dealt with. Ended up not buying anything last year. Now the wife works for Honda and I'll be going there to look at a few new bikes as soon as life gives ke some time.

    Worked for 6 different dealerships over my lengthy career, these experiences don’t surprise me at all, it’s a crapshoot weather you get a worthy salesman or not, most dealerships hire kids or people with zero experience, there are many other contributors to poor experiences, especially since Covid.
    But one of the biggest factors are, if your dealership pays its staff peanuts..expect to deal with monkeys!

    Did Prairie H-D give you a free H-D battery tender for your new bike? They gave me one in 2021 when I bought my new Fat Boy from them. To this day, I'm not sure if that was a gift from H-D Motor Co. or a gift from the Prairie H-D dealership. Anyway, I would be interested to know if it's still being done. Congrats on a great looking bike! I should mention that I have dealt with Prairie H-D since 2008 and they have always treated me top notch and it blows my mind when I hear bad stories about other Harley-Davidson dealers throughout Canada and the U.S.

    • @canadiansa1nt309
      @canadiansa1nt309  7 месяцев назад +1

      They were going to but I already have two tenders. I’m pretty sure it’s up to the dealership. They should be giving you one for these new bikes. As long as Prairie stays independent they should be good for years to come.

    Been following this progression of events since last fall; can't offer enough condolences for the first dealership encounter (and vituperation to those individuals), and every congratulations on finding some people WHO ACTUALLY WANTED TO DO BUSINESS. I have no doubt that the latter dealership will get word-of-mouth pulling new people in faster than your basic horse can trot...or Harley-Davidson can torque, your choice. All congrats.

    Wow !!! What else can I say? We have heard all these horror stories about dealers that do not treat the customer right. Now to have you tell your apparently true life experience at a Harley dealer with good results, I am beside myself. I won't name my local Massachusetts dealer (not an H.D. dealer) but I had a very disappointing experience today 3/2/2004. Needing service on my 2014 bike, a front tire, 25,000 mile schedule maintenance, etc., etc. Rode my bike to the dealership about 8 miles away only to find it was CLOSED. Sign on the door said: "By Appointment Only". OK, by appointment, sure...... for work to be done in the next few days, next week or so. BUT the doors were locked on a Saturday. You can't even go in to check their new bikes on the showroom floor, chat with the people on hand, sit down with a cup of coffee, look over their jackets, shirts, helmets, etc. NO. How uninviting. All I have to say is, they must be close to shuttering the shop, otherwise why would they do such a thing? What a turn off. There's a new dealer in Southern N.H. 44 miles & 50 minits away. I'm tempted to head there verses the local dealer 8 miles from my house. I'll ask: "What would you do?" But I already know the answer to my question. BTW, this dealer refuses to work on older bikes, and I don't mean antiques. My neighbor has an older bike of the same make as mine needing maintenance, was told - 'No we can't help you.', so he's also not happy with that snobby attitude.

    • @canadiansa1nt309
      @canadiansa1nt309  7 месяцев назад

      That sounds pretty crazy that a dealership would be by appointment only. I agree that is definitely not inviting at all. I would be trying the other place.
      Seems a lot of dealers don’t want to work on the older bikes. All those old techs are retiring and the young guys only seem to care about the new models. They just want to plug in the bike to a computer to find out what’s wrong rather than diagnosing the issue themselves.

    I don’t know if anyone else has brought this up but as far as the dealership knowing you do RUclips or not, could be applied to the same dealership that treated you like crap. Because you were doing RUclips videos prior to purchasing the low rider S. Great video and a happy ending to an originally horrific buying experience. Purchasing a new Harley Davidson motorcycle is big decision and significant investment. It should be a positive and memorable occasion. Not what you went through. I’ve often wondered what the name of the hook and crook establishment is. I don’t know if that would cause you problems but people should know where to go and where not to go for buying a bike. I live in the states so no big deal to me but could be for others.

    Congrats! Welcome back to the fat side. Just in time for spring too.
    Are you doing the 16inch apes again? I tried motobars recently and they are a No go, so I built some modular mini apes(8.5inch).
    Glad you had a great dealership experience. When my dealership came through to get my bike back out on the road when the BCM had problems, they earned a customer who keeps coming back.
    I fully believe that the majority of HDs problems are nothing to do with the MOCO but everything to do with the amount of trashy dealerships who dont understand what HD riders really want, and what people who wanna ride HD would like.
    With all the young progressives starting to come into their mid 30s and early 40s, the MOCO is doing what they can to match up, but the dealerships... most of them need to wise up.
    It's not 90s boomer days anymore. We want good service and treatment, not just the badge.
    I should send my bike in for your viewer bike's segment, but I still have a lot of work to do to appearance wise. And yeah his bike has Eliminator 300s, the same pipes that I took off. They're pretty poor for performance, especially if you do a stage 2 or higher. They also dont sound that great. I modded a set of RineHart racing clone mufflers and they sound way better and make better torque and power.

    • @canadiansa1nt309
      @canadiansa1nt309  7 месяцев назад

      I doubt I’ll do apes right away. I’ll ride it a bit to see exactly what I want. I did consider some 4 inch pull back risers but we’ll see. And yeah, you should email your bike. There’s a few others in front of you but it will get posted.
      I had the 300’s on my 2021 Fatboy. I didn’t mind the sound other than it was too quiet for my liking.

    • @FranBunnyFFXII
      @FranBunnyFFXII 7 месяцев назад

      @@canadiansa1nt309If you do the 4inch Curved Pullback Fat Risers from HD, those fit without having to extend the cables or brakeline. But it does pull the cables tight, so I would at the very least grab some Custom Dynamics 4inch turn signal and wiring extensions to keep things from getting pinched or pulled.

    I live in central Florida and would love to hear a story like this about a dealership in my area, There are a couple of dealerships that are quite local within 50 miles, However even after buying my bike from 1 of them, I do not trust them any farther than I could throw them and the dealership that is closest to me seem to be the snobsters that seem like the dealership you were talking about when you took your bike to for trade in value.
