Thoughts: I think I've reached the peak with this keyboard. Reject small keeb embrace big boi. More seriously, though, I decide to YOLO and throw in all the foams for two reasons. The first reason is that Gateron Milky Yellows can be dry at times. Look at my Hiro videos and hear how the Milky Yellow and its clones sound very alike. It's not a bad sound, but it's very... safe? Second, I don't know how long it's been since I've personally owned a board with all the foams installed (including PE foam).
I didn't use the tape mod because I don't care how it standardizes every keyboard, but I don't mind foams if it has a theme in mind. If you use plate foam, did you use it to mask flex cuts? Compensate for a 1.2mm PCB? If you use case foam, did you use it because there was case hollowness? Did you feel the sound was too resonant? By all means, use foams if you want them, especially if you like them, but it's good to know the theory behind why you do it instead of throwing it on everything. I only felt comfortable doing all the foams in the Monsgeek M5 because the Monsgeek M1 always sounded nice (Gateron Pink video, except that it used tape).
Lastly, thank all my friends who suggested keyboards that CRP works well with. I think I've found the best keycap set for foamed boards. You don't have to cheap out on the feel anymore because CRP feels like some of the best in the game. I love its texture, and the spacebar is surprisingly nice! Finally, after months of waiting, I can use this board daily. I might switch out to the Silver Hiro when I stop doing so much work, but for now, this will sit on the desk. Also, who can say no to RGB? It legitimately helps at night when typing. :D
Thanks again to CKC for doing this batch of switches for me. It was a mix of sound tests for the channel and personal builds for which I needed switches. The Gateron Milky Yellow Pro is a staple and a great starter or cheap, good-sounding switch with its own character. Honestly, for its price, I don't know any full-travel switch that matches its legacy besides the Cherry lineup. We all love Gateron Milky Yellows for a reason.

Reminds of the good ol days with my M5
It has yet to fail me 😄
👀👍!
i still remember when the big 3 switch manufacturers were Cherry, Gateron, and JWK. I feel like Cherry and Gateron will almost always be at the top, and all the other switch manufacturers fighting for 3rd spot. imo i feel like some people would agree that the most relevant switch manufacturer would probably be HMX rn. But anyways, gat milky yellows the goat switches of all time.
oh man, I remember Gateron were considered the new boys on the block and then within 6 months it was Cherry, Gateron, and Kailh as the big 3 before JWK took the market by storm like HMX now.
